Simplicity's Sewing Instructions Are Simplistic.

And make my brain hurt.

I decided to make something! My brother is doing his cosplays, so knowing him as well as I do, I figured he's going to ask me a bunch of questions, which he does, and I decided to make something. :3

First, these instructions when it comes to sewing makes my brain hurt. Basic instructions are great and all, but when I don't know what a dart is or what it's talking about when it comes to gathering fabric, my brain feels like it melted by the sheer confusion of it. D:

"To gather upper edges of front and side panels between small dots and between small dot and notch on back panel. Stitch along seam line and 1/4" (6mm) INSIDE seam line and using a long machine-stitch."

If you're still trying to figure out what the first sentence is trying to say, don't worry about it. I think they need a proofreader before they print their instructions because, personally, the period should be a comma in order to make sense.

That or they completely forgot something in the first sentence.

My brother is also asking me questions about sewing instructions, but this time dealing with pictures and McCall's (they're pretty much like Simplicity when it comes to patterns, but more detailed, I think). First, he decided to ask me about the whole "with nap" thing. My answer:

Me: Uhhh (my little imaginative head: ??????)

Then he asks me about notches.

Brother: What are those triangle thingies on the patterns?

Me: They're notches.

Brother: Am I supposed to cut them out or...?

Me: You're supposed to draw the other half, creating a diamond. They're supposed to help line up the fabric.

Brother: Ohh. Wait, they are? o_o

He can figure all the other stuff on his own. >__> Good luck with that, too. I'm so not helping him, especially the nap thing.

And now here's what I made. :3

I still have the zipper to put in and the hook and eye. After that, all done!

I hate patterns and sewing instructions.

ETA: "With nap" is talking about the fabric. E.g., fabrics with nap: velvet and velour.

Blah blah blah.

So, this past week, I've figured out why my used copy of Golden Sun doesn't work.

It's a fake, go figure.

I'd post pics, but you know, my camera doesn't want to work right now. It's working like ****, and I'm too aggitated to mess with the damn thing.

E3 is tomorrow. Not really anticipating much. It seems like everything has already been said and they're just confirming it. I'll check it out to see what goes on.

Somehow I managed a blister on my pinky. Uhh, okay then. Haven't been around anything hot, so either it's from the sun or I'm just now noticing it.

Besides all that, nothing really going on. Been playing Fable II. Defeated it couple days ago, and all I'm doing are quests, pretty much. After that, I'll go back to Skies of Arcadia: Legends.

That's it. Just an update.

No Sleep Till Brooklyn.

No, not going to Brooklyn. I am, however, going to do laundry and clean my room.

Got a couple of games: Golden Sun: Dark Dawn, L4D, and Fable II. I already beat Golden Sun: Dark Dawn, but I'm going through it again to get all the Djinnis and summon tablets/spirits this time.

I might play L4D and Fable II. They're still sealed. Maybe I'll keep them sealed for a while. Hmm.

My ear's better. The bubble is gone. Sorry I haven't been on a while. I gotta clean my room after the cats destroyed it. Was not happy when I came home to the mess they made (maybe I'll take a pic just to show you how messy they made it).

That's pretty much it.

I Have a Bubble in My Ear

First, let me clear up last blog entry: I wasn't going to my sister's bridal shower. I never said that. I went to her house because we were taking one car and my dad had to babysit my nephews and nieces. It was my cousin's bridal shower.

Back on topic.

I have a bubble in my ear. Saturday, I fell in the shower. I figured I just really bruised up my elbows and my right side, but it looks like it was more than that. Somehow, I got liquid behind my eardrum in both of my ears. I also have a bubble in my left ear. My jaw's been hurting me all week and all the pain has been resinating in the temploral bone/zygomatic arch and mandible area. I figured that maybe I hit it and caused trauma to it, so it might be TMD or TMJ (temploromandibular joint disorder). Went to doctors today and found out that the pressure and bubble feeling that I've had while babysitting is an actual bubble.

Fun.

So to deal with that, I have to take Suphedrine (Pseudophedrine Hydrochloride) and Cefdinir. Since taking the medication, I can put pressure on the left side of my jaw just fine. It still hurts a bit, but that's because it's in my ear and all of that is connected (the ear canal connects to a tube that drains fluid from the ear into your throat; that's why if the tube is thin or there's not sufficiant drainage, you can easily get an ear infection).

So that's the fun times I'm having now. Yayy.

Yayy, Bridal Showers.

Got up at 10 this morning --> went to sister's house --> rode in other sister's car --> at bridal shower.

From 12 PM - 4 PM: Bride walks around saying hi to everyone (I got skipped) --> table by table, people got to eat (...food didn't even look good) --> 2 PM, bride opens gifts, one woman serves cake --> an hour passes, bride still opening gifts --> two hours pass, bride finishes opening gifts --> go home --> the end.

That was the most boring four hours I've ever encountered. What did I do?

I wrote on the table. That's right. I wrote on the white cloth, on the part my sister made a stain.

I got bored.

Note to people? Ever invite me to a bridal shower or something, make sure to keep me entertained. I can't sit still worth ****.

What I've Been Working On When Not Writing and Playing Video Games

Still working on getting stuff moved, but kind of at a stop. Everything is sort of half way out of my closet, but my tv is still in there. I have to remove that and move the desk it's on to the other side of the room before I can move all my games out of boxes and blah blah blah...

:D I can't do that until I break down this thing that was part of the desk the tv is on. Yayy. *Finds hammer.*

Anyway, while still getting things done, I've been drawing. I really want Okamiden, but since I'll have to wait to get that, I decided to do this:

That's pretty much the progress I've made. Almost done, though. Just have a bit more to go, still. Then it's on to watercolors!

(I wish I had watercolor pencils, though. u_u)

I haven't made a blog in a while, so I decided to make it about this. I'll have a more worthwhile blog later. :3

Click Me.

Will have new pic of those prinny panties tomorrow!
Btw, I did have other pics of them, but I had to do a reformat to my computer. They weren't that important to me, so I didn't backup the pics. The only thing I backed up was writing I worked on this morning before thinking about going to bed. I've been working on my computer, getting things back to normal and up to where it was before I tried a system restore and got a BKSOD (Black Screen of Death). I had to go into system repair since safe mode wouldn't work (it starts up, goes to Start logo, then it's just a black screen with a cursor) and undo the system restore. After I got it back to the version it was at, it loaded fine. So I logged in, saved my writing to Dropbox and did a system reformat.
I'm really tired from all that and just still going, lol. I never want to do another system reformat in my life (little exaggeration since I know that I will have to again in the future), even though this one is the first I've ever done and it went rather smoothly considering things.
Least everything is a-okay now and I can log in just fine (it's the new computer, which really freaked me out. I didn't know what to do and got worried. Took the old laptop, googled my problem, and didn't really get anywhere, so I just went to system repair and went from there).
Btw, the reason why I did a system reformat is because Microsoft Office wasn't working right. Sure, I could have gone and forgotten Microsoft Office, getting either Libre Office and/or Open Office, but I wanted to fix anything else that might be wrong. I used AVG PC Tuner to try it out since it was bugging me to (AVG Security 2011 was), but yeah, I'm not doing that again. Right now, I just got Microsoft Security Essentials until I figure out how to download the free AVG on to my computer and actually install without saying it can't.
Yeah, a very eventful day today. And thank god for backups on my 1 TB external HDD. Never had to deal with anything like this, but when **** happens and you need a backup, it's great to have one. I don't know what I'd do if I didn't have it at all (I have a lot of files on here that I don't want to lose).

Okamiden Swag!

Here is picture of Okamiden swag. :3

It's a Okamiden stylus and Okamiden sillybandz (I uploaded two pics because the other one shows the sillybandz better).

:3

360 Fun

So I went back to Half-Life 2, this time on the 360. I got more achievements than I have on the PC version. I have to go back to the PC version and get the other ones.

I tried Bulletstorm demo, too. Getting the hang of it and like the idea. Tried a few other demos, too, such as Dead Space 2. I kind of want to go back to Dead Space and play the rest of it.

Alan Wake, I'll go back to later. I want to finish up Half-Life 2 and Portal, then I'll play Alan Wake and finish it up. :P

I won Okamiden swag! I don't know what kind of swag, yet, but soon, I'll know what kind. I'll take pics later when I get it.

That's it for now.

Anyone wanna add me on 360? You can, if you want. However, I'm silver, so.
