I have both, and I'd say my play time is split 80/20 in the 360's favour. That said, Mario Galaxy is the best game I've played this year, and there are other Wii games I still have a strong desire to play, but just haven't got around to yet (Metroid, Paper Mario, Resident Evil 4, Zack & Wiki, Zapper games)). I can't help but feel that if I only had a Wii though, I probably would have finished those games already and been bored during sporadic good game releases. I think next year, games of at least decent quality will be a lot more frequent though.

It mentions it coming to the 360, but not the exclusivity purchase I thought I had read some months back.

I *thought* it had been announced and that Microsoft had paid big bucks to make it a 360 exclusive, and I recall sending my PS3 owning friend (who enjoyed Battlefront 2 on the PS2 and was looking forward to the next instalment) a message to such effect. However, I can't find a shred of evidence for any of it, and I am completely perplexed as to how I came to such a conclusion if I had not read it from a legitimate source. The mind boggles.

There is a rumour piece from a while back that indicates the game is likely in the works, and I'm sure we can expect it to be on all the next gen platforms. If it's multiplatform, I guess I'll probably go for the 360 version, but it would be nice for the Wii version to have some smart controls.

Save anywhere was the feature I was thinking when I clicked the post topic, but that's well covered.

A button that let you spout random, badass one-liners whenever you felt like it. Even in Tetris it would be cool.

That would be cool. Not so much pre-determinedone-liners, but a collection of random words, like a random sentence generator.

Being able to change difficulty midway through a game. This might not be possible in all games, but sometimes I'd like to drop it down a notch if I've bitten off more than I can chew. If the options are a) Keep trying the current difficulty and get frustrated; b) Restart the entire game on an easier setting; or c) Don't play the game again, I'm probably going for option C.

Skippable cutscenes. I understand ifa gameforces me to watch it the first time. I can accept that. But if I die and it has to be replayed, I'd like to be able to skip it.

Again as others have mentioned, split screen co-op. Not being able to play split-screen co-op in Crackdown was a bummer. If the graphics need a downgrade to handle it, I'll accept that.

I have a friend who swore by them when playing Gran Tursimo on the PS2, but I could never get a hang of it. Playing driving games with the Xbox 360 triggers feels more natural to me, but he hates it. I guess it comes down to preference.

Want to know name of an old arcade game. Is there a better place to ask than General Games Discussion?

In any case, the game was a 2D (no depth) platform combat game. The only things I remember about the game are:
Your character had a chain type weapon.
The weapon could be upgraded at shops. Nothing else comes to mind, but I'm sure there was other stuff you could buy or upgrade.
I recalla boss type battle that had 4 square blocks stacked on top of each other; they all had faces. They would separate, and start jumping around, and you would have to avoid them while trying to hit them.

Sorry it's not much to go on, but it's all I can recall. Again, is there a better place to ask than General Discussion? Thanks for any help.

[QUOTE="bacchus2"]I'm looking forward to giving this a go when it gets released in Australia. Whether the included software will have longevity I guess will come down to each individuals interpretation of it. I hope it gets enough developer support, both for casual and more 'hardcore' gamers.Oilers99

I believe you'll see some WiiWare titles developed for the Balance Board, but I don't think a full retail game will have a large enough market to make it to store shelves.

I have considered this might be the case. It would be nice if there were some full games that were designed for the Balance Board first, Wiimote + nunchuck second (so that it can still reach the whole market). Still, if a $10 WiiWare title can keep me entertained for 3 or 4 hours, I probably won't be too upset.

I know the lines generally, but I think some words may be out of place; good old Duke Nukem.

I played a few games of the original Unreal Tournament not long after its release on a 28.8 modem, didn't like the lag, and spent the rest of my time offline, and had an absolute blast playing that game. The advantage was I could always tweak the experience to my liking. These days I don't have a gaming PC, and I haven't bothered with Gold membership for Xbox Live because I don't have the time to get good at any of the games.
