Gaming Update: Fighting Games, God of War, Infinity Blade, 3DS and More =D

Hello everyone:D

Just thought I'd write a new blog before the world ends:P

And I didn't talk so much about my new games in the previous blog, so this one will be a big update on my gaming life, which had some surprises in the last days :p

First, I have played all of my new games except for RDR. I started Resident Evil 4: WE and Uncharted 2 but didn't get far in them, I think both have quality to be in the top games for their respective consoles and I plan to enjoy them more this year (as long as the world doesn't end today).

I've also been playing three fighting games: Super Street Fighter IV 3D, Mortal Kombat (X360) and Marvel vs. Capcom 3 (PS3). All of them are good, no doubt the year has started strong for one of my favorite genres, but I think all of them have their pros and cons. This is how I rank them and what I think of them so far:

1st. SSFIV3D - Impressive 3D visuals, a variety of fun game modes, includes the best SF characters and stages, it's hard to tap the screen while playing:x
2nd. MvC3 - Exciting team battles, simple to play for everyone, has the greatest characters from both universes, not as fun and addictive as Street Fighter.
3rd. MK - Outstanding graphics and sound, lots of features, cool moves for every fighter, not my favorite fighting styIe, can get extremely difficult.

Now if there was a Soul calibur on 3DS... :P

In other news, I beat God of War!8) First time I finish a game in a while so I'm proud of it, though I could not complete it 100% but at least the main story so now I can begin God of War 2. It was also one of the best games I have ever played and my favorite on a PS system, but that can still change with the sequel or Uncharted 2. Only time will tell...

And as you may know, I got a Nintendo 3DS some weeks ago. Perhaps the most revolutionary handheld system made by Nintendo, and now I got to experience the greatness of its features and games. I bought it along with two games, Pro Evolution Soccer 2011 3D and Super Street Fighter IV: 3D. But first I will talk about the system, which is amazing. Even though the 3D is not exactly as I expected, it still looks cool giving it a wonderful effect and making the games' graphics even better. Other characteristics are quite interesting like the two cameras, Mii creator and the fact that there's only one friend code per system. I am also loving the AR Games, it is incredible how one simple card can provide so much fun xD As for the games, PES 2011 is just what you can expect from a futbol game and a good start in this handheld. The champions league is surely its best feature, it feels like you are actually watching a real CL game, and winning it will be a challenge in any difficulty (except maybe the easiest one). But being honest I don't think PES will ever be better than FIFA, but this game does the job well until FIFA 12 comes out. SSFIV, as I stated above, is a superb fighting title and totally recommendable to anyone with a 3DS.

And now that I left clear my opinion on the 3DS, time to talk about an iPhone/iPad game!:D Infinity Blade that got a big update this week and is now at its max potential. They have added online multiplayer, survivor mode and tons of new content for the story mode. Really if you don't have this game yet, get it! It's a fantastic RPG with the best graphics on iOS, and I believe it's on sale for a limited time. And if you have it and wanna play online, pm me. I'm not so good at it but I try:P Also in this game, I recently got the Infinity Blade (the sword) and am making a lot of progress, it is one of my favorite iPad games, but it has a little problem, it eventually crashes and takes me out of the app after some battles, making me unable to get the golds that appear in cutscenes =( but idk if this happens to everyone or if it's just me.

One more thing, yesterday I saw some new details of FIFA 12 and it looks very promising. It will improve a lot in gameplay, but I still want to see new stuff like national teams in manager mode to make it the best game in the franchise.

With this and other games, my wishlist for 2011 is growing a lot, can't wait for E3 to see more about them:D

Sorry if this blog was long, but it may be the last one I do... jk. Thanks for reading and leave a comment if you want.

My Top 20 N64 Games 10-1 + Prediction Results + New Games!

Hi again:D

As you may have noticed, I am back from a few days of vacations, and because of this I could not post the 2nd part of my Top N64 Games List last Thursday, so here it is almost one week later (still not so long compared to the time I usually take between blogs:P).

As I've mentioned before, this is my 3rd of 12 lists that will end with my Top 200 Games of All Time. And before I get into the top ten, here is a reminder of the positions 20-11 that I posted in my previous blog:

  • 20. Diddy Kong Racing
  • 19. Pokemon Snap
  • 18. GoldenEye 007
  • 17. Mario Party
  • 16. F-Zero X
  • 15. Yoshi's Story
  • 14. Pokemon Stadium
  • 13. Pokemon Stadium 2
  • 12. Mario Party 3
  • 11. The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask

And now, the 10 that I believe are the greatest Nintendo 64 titles...

#10. Mario Tennis Mario Tennis Boxshot
Publisher: Nintendo
Developer: Camelot
Genre: Sports

Year: 2000
Best tennis game ever. Of course it was not realistic or serious at all, but like most Mario games it gives the player a simple and addictive gameplay, with some variety in characters and ways to play, as well as decent visuals and sound, and just too addictive overall.

#09. International Superstar Soccer '98 International Superstar Soccer '98 Boxshot
Publisher: Konami
Developer: Konami Osaka
Genre: Sports

Year: 1998
Yeah, I bet this is my biggest surprise so far (though looking at some reviews in the internet, I am not the only one who loved it). This was my favorite sports game for many years, it was incredibly fun to play with other people, and you were able to play the world cup better than in any other game. It also had many difficulties that went from ridiculous to insane, and while it did have a few flaws, these did not affect the gameplay and were fun to laugh at. I could continue talking about this one but I believe I already said a lot:P

#08. Mario Party 2 Mario Party 2 Boxshot
Publisher: Nintendo
Developer: Hudson
Genre: Party

Year: 2000
The only Mario Party left, and my favorite on the Nintendo 64, I have too many good memories of it :) Just as addictive as the other two but especially this one has some of my top mini-games, with new modes to play them and the boards were also some of the best.

Mario Party 2 Nintendo 64 Mini game: quick, jump on the pink tile!

#07. Mario Kart 64 Mario Kart 64 Boxshot
Publisher: Nintendo
Developer: Nintendo
Genre: Racing

Year: 1997
MK64 was probably the finest racing game of a generation, and one of my all time favorites of the genre. It's just so great to remember this game, and even playing it again is very fun, although the Mario Kart series has gotten better but this one remains as a memorable title.

Mario Kart 64 Screenshot

#06. Banjo-Tooie Banjo-Tooie Boxshot
Publisher: Nintendo
Developer: Rare
Genre: 3D Platformer

Year: 2000
This game is incredible, just another great job by Rare on the N64. The characters are weird but really cool, the graphics and sound were excellent, it had a great length and brought back the best things of the original Banjo-Kazooie. This is one game I really need to play again :p

Banjo-Tooie Screenshot

#05. Super Smash Bros. Super Smash Bros. Boxshot
Publisher: Nintendo
Developer: HAL Labs
Genre: Fighting

Year: 1999
Ah, the first Super Smash Bros. The one that started one of the best game series of all time. It featured only 12 characters from Nintendo cIassics and a variety of stages and items to battle with. It was a game I played for hours and hours when I was young, and it also offered a good challenge unlocking everything and playing in the hardest difficulty. And the master hand was epic xD.

#04. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Boxshot
Publisher: Nintendo
Developer: Nintendo
Genre: Action Adventure

Year: 1998
OoT is considered by many people the #1 game of all time, and like Majoras Mask, I did not play it until nine years after its release. And it is indeed a masterpiece, despite that I don't like most of the characters, the gameplay is almost perfect, music is great and the story is fantastic. It's one of my most played games already and 4th of my Nintendo 64 favorites.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Screenshot

#03. Super Mario 64 Super Mario 64 Boxshot
Publisher: Nintendo
Developer: Nintendo
Genre: 3D Platformer

Year: 1996
Yes, once again Mario makes it to the top 3. This time it's the revolutionary, unique and impressive Super Mario 64 =D. It was the plumber's debut in 3D platforming and what an epic game. While it did have a few difficulties with the camera, the game experience was incredibly good and every level was perfectly designed.

Super Mario 64 Screenshot

#02. Donkey Kong 64 Donkey Kong 64 Boxshot
Publisher: Nintendo
Developer: Rare
Genre: 3D Platformer

Year: 1999
Another 3D platformer, and a wonderful adventure of one of the best videogame characters, DK and the other Kongs that are also quite funny. I liked everything in this game, the big worlds, the controls, the story, multiplayer, replay value, and of course the monkey rap:D. Such a memorable title in the DK franchise and in all gaming.

#01. Banjo-Kazooie Banjo-Kazooie Boxshot
Publisher: Nintendo

Developer: Rare
Genre: 3D Platformer

Year: 1998
And the first place is… Yes, another 3D platformer:P and it is not even my favorite genre (3rd after racing and fighting) but Banjo-Kazooie, like the previous two, is an incredibly well made game that made me spend hours going through the levels, and trying to beat the game before my friends :p It was so big, dynamic and enjoyable, with great music and perhaps the best levels I had seen at that time. I remember so many good moments in it, and that's why I finally put it at the top of this list, no doubt Rare was an outstanding developer back then and this game would be my best recommendation for anyone with a Nintendo 64 or an XBOX 360.

:D:D:D

So yeah, there it is. Hope you liked reading this list like I enjoyed making it. As for the next one, it will be the Top 30 GameCube games so it will be long but I hope to finish it ASAP =)

PREDICTION CONTEST

And for those that participated, here are the Prediction Contest results! There were 9 contestants this time, four more than the last one. The rules were simple, you got 0 to 3 points for each game predicted, and these were added to make a total. These were your scores and positions:

#9. FireboltDS - 2 Pts.
#8. Iffy350 - 6 Pts.
#6. Shy_Guy_Red - 7 Pts.
#6. megamario9 - 7 Pts.

Two silver medals this time instead of one bronze and one silver =P But the gold clearly goes to nunchuk, who was the only one to guess 2 exact positions (B-K and OoT). Congrats! And a few more things to note:

  • Only wiifan put DK64 in the top 5
  • Only waZelda guessed ISS98, though not in the correct position
  • Only SGR predicted Banjo-Tooie, and failed just by one position
  • Paper Mario was the most predicted game that wasn't in the list, probably a big surprise there
  • Other games that were predicted: Kirby 64 and StarFox 64 were #21 and #22, Perfect Dark and Conker never played them, I was too young when I had a N64:P

Oh, and this is the overall leaderboard for the big prize, with predictions from the first contest and this one:

#2. nunchuk28 - 17 Pts.
#1. Bzilla56 - 19 Pts.

And hopefully this blog doesn't get too long, but I also wanted to mention that I bought several new games last week:D I'll talk more about it until my next blog but here's what I got:

  • Nintendo 3DS
  • Pro Evolution Soccer 2011 3D
  • Super Street Fighter IV: 3D Edition
  • Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition (Finally XD)
  • Red Dead Redemption (X360)
  • Mortal Kombat (X360)

Anyway, that's all for now. Thanks for reading, feel free to leave your comments and opinions below.

My Top 20 N64 Games 20-11 (With Prediction Contest!)

Hello everyone :D

Been a while since I posted my last blog. But I just finished writing a new list: Top 20 Nintendo 64 Games! Took me a while because I was not very inspired all this time:P but I am now ready to post it and even bring back the prediction game. Again I will be posting in two blogs, the first one with a countdown from 20 to 11 and the second one with the top ten. And then get the rest of my lists done in this order:

_Top 15 NES Games (15-11 | 10-1)
_Top 10 SNES Games (10-1)
_Top 20 N64 Games (CURRENT)
_Top 30 GameCube Games
_Top 30 Wii Games
_Top 10 WiiWare Games
_Top 20 GameBoy/Color/Advance Games
_Top 20 Nintendo DS Games
_Top 10 Xbox Games
_Top 10 Xbox 360 Games
_Top 20 iPhone/iPad Games (Updated)
_Top 200 Games of All Time

Also, don't be surprised to see many soccer and Mario games in my lists, cause i'm addict to those things

And that's all I have to say for now. Here are positions 20-11 of my favorite N64 games:

#20. Diddy Kong Racing Diddy Kong Racing Boxshot
Publisher: Nintendo
Developer: Rare
Genre: Racing

Year: 1997
DKR was one of the most complete racing games at the time. Sure it was not as fun and competitive as Mario Kart but it had various unique features like different vehicles, cool bosses and a great world to explore. One of my favorite games of all time, yet only #20 in my N64 list:o

#19. Pokemon Snap Pokemon Snap Boxshot
Publisher: Nintendo
Developer: Hal
Genre: Action
Year: 1999
Like I've said before, what can be so fun about taking pictures of pokemon over and over? Well this was actually a very exciting game. Always kept me going back to take better pics and playing with friends was really good too. Definitely one of the best works Nintendo did with Pokemon out of the RPGs.

Pokémon Snap Wii Dittos, the more in the shot the better.

#18. GoldenEye 007 GoldenEye 007 Boxshot
Publisher: Nintendo
Developer: Rare
Genre: First-Person Shooter

Year: 1997
This is actually the only game of the current list I never owned or rented, but I remember playing it a lot with friends. It was also one of the few FPSs I have enjoyed even when I suck at them :p Everything in it was cool from the 007 theme to the amazing environments and excellent graphics for the time.

GoldenEye 007 Nintendo 64 Another shot from the famous

#17. Mario Party Mario Party Boxshot
Publisher: Nintendo
Developer: Hudson
Genre: Party

Year: 1999
The first Mario Party ever, a game that defined the party genre and while it was still simple it had some of the best mini-games along with all the craziness of Super Mario characters.

Mario Party Nintendo 64 Trying to throw the others into the sea.

#16. F-Zero X F-Zero X Boxshot
Publisher: Nintendo
Developer: Nintendo
Genre: Racing

Year: 1998
The best futuristic racing series came back in the Nintendo 64 era with this challenging and intense experience. As I've said before I loved this game before and now that I have it on virtual console, although it's not my favorite F-Zero anymore:P

http://d22dmam3ig6p12.cloudfront.net/media/pics/art_8539_id_10.jpeg

#15. Yoshi's Story Yoshi's Story Boxshot
Publisher: Nintendo
Developer: Nintendo
Genre: 2D Platformer

Year: 1998
Yoshi's Story was my very first game, and the one that made me like Yoshi so much. Perhaps it is not so great if you play it today but at that moment it was wonderful, the simple gameplay, easy controls, good level design and cute characters made it a perfect option for anyone with a N64.

Yoshi's Story Screenshot

#14. Pokemon Stadium Pokemon Stadium Boxshot
Publisher: Nintendo
Developer: HAL Labs
Genre: Action/Strategy

Year: 2000
Yet another Pokemon title that was very fun, and just a bit better than Pokemon Snap in my opinion. From what I remember the game lets you play Pokemon battles for the first time in a home console, and it also had some mini-games and stuff that made it hard to stop playing for long times.

Pokemon Stadium Screenshot

#13. Pokemon Stadium 2 Pokemon Stadium 2 Boxshot
Publisher: Nintendo
Developer: HAL Labs
Genre: Action/Strategy

Year: 2001
The direct sequel to Pokemon Stadium 1, it was basically more of the same but everything was slightly improved now with Gold and Silver versions available on GBC, there were better mini-games, new modes and lots of features that made it the perfect experience for Pokemon fans.

Pokémon Stadium 2 Nintendo 64 You must use Mr. Mime to shoot Poké Balls into opponents' goals

#12. Mario Party 3 Mario Party 3 Boxshot
Publisher: Nintendo
Developer: Hudson
Genre: Party

Year: 2001
The third
installment in Mario's board game/mini-games series, and one of the games I played the most of this console. It was all fun either alone or in multiplayer, it had many additions and a great feel for anyone to play it.

 Screenshot

#11. The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask Boxshot
Publisher: Nintendo
Developer: Nintendo
Genre: Action Adventure

Year: 2000
I am not the biggest Zelda player out there, but I downloaded Majora's Mask from virtual console two years ago, and loved it. The dark theme fits it perfectly and the story is excellent. There were a few things I thought made the game too difficult but still quite enjoyable with a guide =P.

(ah, almost forgot to mention this in the description XD)

TOP 10 COMING SOON...

PREDICTION CONTEST

And as I mentioned before, the prediction contest is back. There is no prize this time, but I am planning a big one for the winner at the end of all my lists, points from the first prediction game and the ones to come will be accumulated to make an overall scoreboard (which is currently leaded by Bzilla56 with 10 pts.)

The rules, quoted from the first blog:

To enter, leave a comment saying 5 games that you think will be in the top 10 and their positions. For each game you predict, you will get from 0 to 3 points:

If the game is not in the list = 0 Pts.
If the game is in the Top 10 = 1 Pt.
If the game is in the Top 5 = 2 Pts.
If you predict the exact position = 3 Pts.
bak1234567890

Good luck to everyone! Hopefully more people give it a try this time, I even gave a big hint somewhere in the list:P

Well there it is, hope you enjoyed the list. I'd like to post the top 10 on Thursday, but I will leave that day and not come back until next week, so then it would be a little later.

Oh, and I forgot to do a blog about this, but I recently got to 70K posts...

That's all:P Thanks for reading and comment if you want.

Similar to my last list, I will post my favorite games of the console in a countdown from 10 to 1. After this I will continue with my other lists and I plan to have all of them posted by the end of this year. Here are all of them again:

_Top 15 NES Games (15-11 | 10-1)
_Top 10 SNES Games (CURRENT)
_Top 20 N64 Games
_Top 30 GameCube Games
_Top 30 Wii Games
_Top 10 WiiWare Games

_Top 20 Nintendo DS Games
_Top 10 Xbox Games
_Top 10 Xbox 360 Games
_Top 20 iPhone/iPad Games (Updated)
_Top 200 Games of All Time

Also, don't be surprised to see many soccer and Mario games in my lists, cause i'm addict to those things

And i believe that's all I have to say, so here's the list. Hope you like it.

#10. Frogger Frogger Boxshot
Publisher: Majesco Games
Developer: Morning Star Multi
Genre: Action

Year: 1998
With the horrible graphics and very simple gameplay, this could be the worst game in my lists:P But Frogger is a really fun and addictive cIassic game in which you have to make a frog cross the street and river while avoiding obstacles, and it gets more challenging in every level making it a great option for people who love simple action games.

http://www.mobygames.com/images/shots/l/148575-frogger-snes-screenshot-i-got-one.jpg

#09. FIFA Soccer '96 FIFA Soccer 96 Boxshot
Publisher: EA Sports
Developer: Electronic Arts
Genre: Sports

Year: 1995
Ah, my first FIFA game. Well not the first one I played but the oldest one, and it was an excellent soccer simulator for that time with some of the best leagues and tournaments. Still not visually impressive but a big improvement over previous futbol games.

http://www.mobygames.com/images/shots/l/184901-fifa-soccer-96-snes-screenshot-the-snes-version-feature-a.png

#08. Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars Boxshot
Publisher: Nintendo
Developer: Square
Genre: RPG
Year: 1996
Super Mario RPG is a great game I bought in virtual console. Strangely, it was the only Mario RPG that was called that way and not "Paper Mario" or "Mario & Luigi", but it has the same memorable gameplay and an interesting story with some characters that are considered between the best of the Mario series.

http://www.mobygames.com/images/shots/l/484218-super-mario-rpg-legend-of-the-seven-stars-snes-screenshot.png

#07. Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest Boxshot
Publisher: Nintendo
Developer: Rare
Genre: 2D Platformer
Year: 1995
While I don't remember this game very well, I spent hours playing it many years ago and it totally deserves a place in my list. Like all the Donkey Kong games, DKC2 is very fun and brings an epic adventure with Diddy Kong in stages that were wonderful for the console.

http://emuladoreseroms.buscasulfluminense.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/jogo-donkey-kong-country-2-diddy-kong-quest.jpg

#06. The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past Boxshot
Publisher: Nintendo
Developer: Nintendo
Genre: Action Adventure
Year: 1992
The most recent addition to my list, and one that still has chances of going up. But right now ALttP is my #6 SNES game because it's simple and yet very challenging with all the dungeons as well as the awesome boss fights.

http://www.mobygames.com/images/shots/l/396329-the-legend-of-zelda-a-link-to-the-past-snes-screenshot-dodging.png

#05. Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island Boxshot
Publisher: Nintendo
Developer: Nintendo
Genre: 2D Platformer
Year: 1995
Another Nintendo masterpiece and one of the many reasons to love Yoshi :D. At least that is how much I liked this game, it was a perfect inclusion in the Mario series featuring one of the best characters and a lot of wonderful, enjoyable worlds.

http://www.rpgonline.com.br/images/galeria/2_20090107_SuperMarioWorld2YoshisIsland.jpg

#04. Super Mario Kart Super Mario Kart Boxshot
Publisher: Nintendo
Developer: Nintendo
Genre: Racing
Year: 1992
The game that began this competitive series and one of the first kart racing games in history. With all those items and crazy elements that made it excellent to play in either single or multiplayer.

http://www.mobygames.com/images/shots/l/26982-super-mario-kart-snes-screenshot-yoshi-at-the-start.jpg

#03. F-Zero F-Zero Boxshot
Publisher: Nintendo
Developer: Nintendo
Genre: Racing
Year: 1991
This is the rare case where F-Zero beats Mario Kart in my list:P And even though it's not even close to my favorite F-Zero, it was an original idea that resulted in a fantastic futuristic racing experience, featuring superb gameplay and intense races that never got old.

http://www.mundovideogamers.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/12/f-zero-fire-field.jpg

#02. Donkey Kong Country Donkey Kong Country Boxshot
Publisher: Nintendo
Developer: Rare
Genre: 2D Platformer
Year: 1994
DKC was the first title in a great franchise. Outstanding in every aspect, with an addicting gameplay and high difficulty that always kept me going back for more. Truly an awesome game from beginning to end.

#01. Super Mario World Super Mario World Boxshot
Publisher: Nintendo
Developer: Nintendo
Genre: 2D Platformer
Year: 1991
Once again Mario makes it to the top of my list with a platformer. Super Mario World is a unique title that introduced Yoshi, along with lots of cool stuff to the Mario universe and made a game that felt incredibly fun to play while it took the best adventage of SNES controls and power. It's a game I really enjoyed at its time and have always wanted to play it again.

http://gen16.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/SMW-OST-Front.jpg

http://www.zonapixel.es/wp-content/uploads/Super-Mario-World_01.jpg

:D:D

Like always, thank you for reading and I hope you enjoyed this list.

My next countdown will be Top 20 N64 games, which might be my best one so far because it was the first system I actually owned. It will take me a while to make so I expect to have it by April, I will use two blogs for it and may bring back the prediction game.

EXTRA LIST

And as I mentioned before, this time I've replaced the prediction contest with something different. I asked in my last blog what were everyone's favorite SNES games, and made another list of the Top 10 games you picked to compare them with mine. Though not so many people commented so there was practically a tie between the last 5 games, but i arranged them according to how you ranked them and how popular they were on my old blogs... Anyway these are the Top 10 SNES games that you picked:

10. Chrono Trigger Chrono Trigger Boxshot

9. Harvest Moon Harvest Moon Boxshot

8. Contra III Contra III: The Alien Wars Boxshot

7. Super Metroid Super Metroid Boxshot

6. Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island Boxshot

5. Donkey Kong Country Donkey Kong Country Boxshot

4. Donkey Kong Country 2 Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest Boxshot

3. Super Mario RPG Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars Boxshot

2. The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past Boxshot

1. Super Mario World Super Mario World Boxshot

Looks like we agree in #1. And while you have ALttP and SMRPG higher, none of you even mentioned F-Zero and Mario Kart that are both in my Top 5. Also the first six of this list are in mine too, and the last four are not in mine.

So what do you think? Again thanks for reading and feel free to leave a comment with your opinion or anything you want to say:)

Updating My Profile! + Favorite SNES Games?

Hey everyone:D

I finally have some time to write a blog, and got quite a few things to say...

First, as you may have already noticed I had nothing to do today:P so I decided to add my old videogames to my GameSpot collection, I have updated it with all my N64, GC, GBC and GBA games, or at least the ones I still have... my collection now has 173 games, a much better number than the one it said before and it would probably double if I added my iPhone/iPad games:o

Anyway, another thing I will be doing soon is update my friends list. There are almost 400 people tracking me so I think it is time for me to track everyone I have at least seen once. I'm also doing this because I will make my blogs visible for friends only, so if anyone actually wants to read my blogs feel free to track me:P

That's pretty much all I wanted to say about my GS profile, I am also working on a new banner because the current one is very old...

Favorite SNES Games?

As for the other part of this blog, it is about my Top 10 SNES games which i finished making today, I am ready to post it in my next blog (which will be up some time next week) but before, I have something new for this list...

I know I usually make prediction games, but that's kinda getting old and not many people entered last time so I thought of a different thing. Instead of posting predictions of what you think will be on my list, I ask you all what are your favorite SNES games ever? You can post as many as you want, ranked or not. And after I post my list I will make another list combining what everyone said were their favorites and compare both lists. Yeah it may be a stupid idea but I can always try. So, what are everyone's top SNES games? :D

And that's all for now, thanks for reading and feel free to leave a comment

My Top 15 NES Games 10-1 + Prediction Results + Tagged

Hey everyone, sorry for the late post, but i went back to school last week and have been very busy to post this blog until now:P But here it is finally, the second part of my Top 15 NES Games List with the countdown from 10 to 1.

First, here is the ranking from 15 to 11 that I posted in my last blog:

  • 15. Tetris
  • 14. Mega Man
  • 13. Kid Icarus
  • 12. Dr. Mario
  • 11. Soccer

And now the top ten, these are the games i have enjoyed the most of the NES. Hope you like it:D

#10. Mega Man 2 Mega Man 2 Boxshot
Publisher: Capcom
Developer: Capcom
Genre: 2D Platformer
Year: 1989
I found this game very similar to the first one. However, it is an improvement in every aspect, the robots and other characters look greater and the gameplay is one of the best and most challenging ones on Nintendo's first console.

Mega Man 2

#09. Super Mario Bros. 2 Super Mario Bros. 2 Boxshot
Publisher: Nintendo
Developer: Nintendo
Genre: 2D Platformer
Year: 1988
The second game of the original Super Mario series, it was different to the other SMB titles but it was fun in its own way with a variety of levels and some elements never seen in the Mario universe.

#08. Pac-Man Pac-Man Boxshot
Publisher: Namco
Developer: Namco
Genre: Action
Year: 1993
This one is a cIassic. Who didn't play it in any of the multiple systems it's been on? It's a really enjoyable little game that I still play today and was one of my favorites on the NES.

#07. The Legend of Zelda The Legend of Zelda Boxshot
Publisher: Nintendo
Developer: Nintendo
Genre: Action Adventure
Year: 1987
The Legend of Zelda is an extraordinary adventure game that has an outstanding gameplay with simple controls, well-designed dungeons and hours of fun. The only thing that wasn't so good in it were the graphics, and the incredibly hard difficulty.

#06. Castlevania Castlevania Boxshot
Publisher: Konami
Developer: Konami
Genre: 2D Platformer
Year: 1987
Another platformer game (which I think was the genre that marked this generation). Good visuals and sound, epic characters and an interesting story between many other things made Castlevania a memorable title and a great option for anyone who wants a good cIassic platformer.

#05. Final Fantasy Final Fantasy Boxshot
Publisher: Nintendo
Developer: Square
Genre: Turn-Based RPG
Year: 1990
This is a game I recently got from virtual console, and it was a pleasant surprise. I have yet to beat it but can say it's one of the best RPGs ever made. Its battle system was very good as well as the music and all the memorable characters =D.

#04. Super Mario Bros. Super Mario Bros. Boxshot
Publisher: Nintendo
Developer: Nintendo
Genre: 2D Platformer
Year: 1985
This was one of the most revolutionary NES games. It started a great series with Mario as the playable character and tons of crazy/humorous elements making a game that can still be considered a masterpiece today.

#03. Ninja Gaiden Ninja Gaiden Boxshot
Publisher: Tecmo
Developer: Tecmo
Genre: 2D Platformer
Year: 1989
Ah, another painful platformer in this console. To be honest I suck at Ninja Gaiden games but I always have a lot of fun with them. Everything in it is fantastic from the badass characters to the fast, challenging gameplay and good story. Definitely one of the best experiences in old-school consoles.

#02. Metroid Metroid Boxshot
Publisher: Nintendo
Developer: Nintendo
Genre: Action
Year: 1986
This game is just how I like Metroid, 2D action with plenty of unique stages and enemies that can be very difficult at times. It's also the game that began a big series, which has slowly become one of my all time favorites.

#01. Super Mario Bros. 3 Super Mario Bros. 3 Boxshot
Publisher: Nintendo
Developer: Nintendo
Genre: 2D Platformer
Year: 1990
Well, what other game could be number 1 in this list? SMB3 did almost everything perfect and became a masterpiece with solid gameplay, excellent sound and music and great new power-ups. This game is by far my favorite NES title and one that I have enjoyed since I was very young and even now that I can play it on virtual console.

:D

Again, thanks for reading and hope you liked this list as much as I enjoyed making it =)

I will be very busy the following days but I plan to post the rest of my lists this year, the next one will be my Top 10 SNES games which by the way won't have prediction game.

And now it's time to announce the prediction contest results! Unfortunately only 5 people participated but i'll still give out the prize:P Thanks to everyone who entered and here are the points you all made and your positions:

#5. megasuper1 - 3 Pts. (Only guessed one game but got it right XD)

#4. ManateeExpress - 5 Pts.

#3. nunchuk28 - 7 Pts. http://i218.photobucket.com/albums/cc184/bak_ame/medal-bronze.gif?t=1257218964

Also, these points will also be accumulated in case i make prediction contests in future lists, and there may be an even bigger prize for the winner at the end.

As for the 3rd part of this (kinda long) blog, something that may be a bit old but i could not post it until now.

I was tagged once again, this time by Bzilla56. And I have to say my 5 biggest failures in gaming:o:P Here they are, or at least the ones I can remember now...

5. Failing to catch Groudon in Pokemon Ruby :(

4. The numerous times that I've lost a battle in SSB because of a suicide move, usually with the Down-B or Side-B moves:x

3. Not being able to beat the 2nd boss in Metroid Prime 2. Seriously that game was amazing but i always lost in that level and could never advance more:P

2. Same as number 3, but in Ninja Gaiden:P

1. When I got Soul Calibur 2 for Xbox, it was a japan version and I could not pass the first level because I didn't understand the japanese text, even after beating the GC version I could never do it again:|

Well, I believe that's all for now. Thanks for reading and like always, feel free to leave your opinions and feedback in the comments:D

My Top 15 NES Games 15-11 + Prediction Contest!

Hi again:)

Like I said in my previous blog, today I am posting the first part of my Top 15 NES Games list. Just as a note, this will be my only list with 15 games because they're exactly the ones i want to mention. After this i'll post my other lists in this order:

_Top 10 SNES Games
_Top 20 N64 Games
_Top 30 GameCube Games
_Top 30 Wii Games
_Top 10 WiiWare Games
_Top 20 GameBoy/Color/Advance Games
_Top 20 Nintendo DS Games
_Top 10 Xbox Games
_Top 10 Xbox 360 Games
_Top 20 iPhone/iPad Games (Updated)
_Top 200 Games of All Time

I know it sounds crazy:P but I enjoyed doing it, and I think it's something perfect to blog in a gaming site.

Also, don't be surprised to see many soccer and Mario games in my lists, cause i'm addict to those things;)

Anyway, here are my top 15-11 games on the Nintendo Entertainment System:

#15. Tetris Tetris Boxshot

Publisher: Nintendo
Developer: Nintendo
Genre: Puzzle
Year: 1989
A cIassic puzzle game with simple, and yet very addictive gameplay. It's really accessible and you can have hours of fun just beating your high score.

#14. Mega Man Mega Man Boxshot
Publisher: Capcom
Developer: Capcom
Genre: 2D Platformer
Year: 1987
The first game of the blue bomber's long series, which I just started playing recently but it was enough time to experience its greatly designed levels and good boss fights that make it an outstanding title.

#13. Kid Icarus Kid Icarus Boxshot
Publisher: Nintendo
Developer: Nintendo
Genre: 2D Platformer
Year: 1987

This game is a pain:P but despite its difficulty, it's a very well done game by Nintendo with excellent gameplay and a good character that is now getting more recognition with his appearance in Smash Bros Brawl and the release of Kid Icarus: Uprising in 3D.

Kid Icarus(2)

#12. Dr. Mario Dr. Mario Boxshot
Publisher: Nintendo
Developer: Nintendo
Genre: Puzzle
Year: 1990
Another of the best puzzle titles ever made, it presented Mario as a doctor and those little viruses that were so fun to destroy. Also one of the Nintendo games that has lasted many years and is still awesome.

Dr. Mario

#11. Soccer Soccer Boxshot
Publisher: Nintendo
Developer: Intelligent Systems
Genre: Sports
Year: 1987
As a futbol fan, I had to include this one in my list. Yes it was too simple and graphics sucked but it was very enjoyable to play with friends back then, it had some funny moments as well that made it even more fun.

Soccer

TOP 10 COMING SOON...

PREDICTION CONTEST

With this list, I am also bringing back the prediction contest for the top 10. However, this time I am changing the system so you don't have to predict all ten games, because not many people did it the last time. I don't know if this will work, but here it is:

To enter, leave a comment saying 5 games that you think will be in the top 10 and their positions. For each game you predict, you will get from 0 to 3 points:

If the game is not in the list = 0 Pts.
If the game is in the Top 10 = 1 Pt.
If the game is in the Top 5 = 2 Pts.
If you predict the exact position = 3 Pts.

As a prize, I am willing to give a NES virtual console game to the winner (if they own a Wii). But this will only be if more than 5 people participate.

That is all for now, thanks for reading and feel free to comment with your opinions and feedback:D

New Emblems + My Top NES Games Coming Tomorrow!

Hi!

Just writing a quick blog before I start with my Top Game Lists:P And I recently noticed I have two new GameSpot emblems.. i mean, achievements.

I got this one for voting in the 2010 Readers' Choice awards

Best of 2010 Readers' Choice Chooser

To be honest it looks kinda ugly:P But it's cool to get a new one after so long.

And i also received the Dark Horse Rider. I guess it's what i get for being a Nintendo fan =)

Best of 2010 Dark Horse Rider

This is only my 3rd not common emb... eh, achievement. But maybe one day I will get more of these.

Also this blog will only last 1 day, cause tomorrow I will start posting my Top 15 NES games:D I finally finished all my lists after buying TLOZ: A Link to the Past from virtual console, which by the way is a great game, already in my top 3 zeldas.

Anyway, tomorrow i will just post positions 15 to 11 of my NES list, and have a prediction game for the top ten, maybe with a downloadable game as prize to make it more interesting.

And that's how i'll make almost all my blogs in a while. Like I said before I made top lists for every system I've played and a big list of my top 200 games ever!

That's all for now, thanks for reading and leave a comment if you want:D

Gamespot Union Awards!

Hey everyone!

Well, today i found out that some people at the Social Cafe Union are trying to bring back the GS Union Awards. I don't know if you remember them, but it was a great event that GameSpot made years ago and now it's being revived. Here's the thing:

Many of you weren't around back then, but at one time gamespot used to create every year an awards show for all the unions on Gamespot, in order to recognize outstanding unions. Sadly, the last one was in 2007 and since then there hasn't been a new one.

It's time for a renaissance however! The Union Awards are back, although we need help from everybody to make this as successful as previous years. Here is the link to the thread where this is being worked upon, we're looking for volunteers and people to help spread this throughout all the unions in gamespot. We want to make this as unbiased as possible and have as many people as possible from the community involved in this project. Let's raise awareness for unions and honor those who've been successful!

Help us bring back the Union Awards by copying this and posting this in your blogs and unions!

:D

My Top 10 Most Wanted Games of 2011

Hi again:)

So, with 2010 coming to an end it is time for my last blog of the year:o and for this blog I am not going to post my favorite games of the year like in 2009. This time i will do a list of my Top 10 most anticipated games of 2011, i am not sure if all of these will come to North America next year, but i am hoping so.

Anyway here it is:

#10. The Last Story (WII)

The Last Story Boxshot

#9. Pokemon Black Version (DS)

Pokemon Black Version Boxshot

#8. Dead Space 2 (X360)

Dead Space 2 Boxshot

#7. Paper Mario 3D (3DS)

#6. Mario Kart 3D (3DS)

#3. Mass Effect 3 (X360)

Mass Effect 3 Boxshot

#2. Kid Icarus: Uprising (3DS)

Kid Icarus Uprising

#1. Mario Sports Mix (WII)

Mario Sports Mix

NOTE: Most of these boxarts and some titles are not official, but that's all I could find for those games:P

And i would have written more about why i want them, but most of them are sequels to games i have liked before. Except The Last Story, which i believe only has a Japan release date so far, but it looks very promising. And Mario Sports Mix, i know many will disagree with me there but i'm a big fan of Mario and sports games and this one looks fantastic with 4 sports, online and alot more...

Also, as you can see I included many 3DS games (since it's one of the best things i am looking forward to in 2011). And there are others that i could not put in this list, but i also want them.

Finally, for my future blogs I will post more lists of my favorite games of all time until 2010. I will start with my Top 15 NES games, and so on covering every Nintendo and Microsoft platform, and i'll finish with my Top 200 games of all time:D

And that's all for today. Again happy new year to everyone:D

like always thanks for reading and feel free to leave a comment.
