is new. when i sent mine in they sent me the "coffin". and packed it all up and brought to the UPS store, then 3 weeks later... VIOLA! refurby 360 in the mail.

now I am about to trade my 360 in for the Elite, mainly so i get a new warranty, my current warranty runs out next month

to the best of my knowledge, M$ does not warranty the hard drive any longer than 3 or 6 months from purchase. but it does sound like a hard drive issue. try turning the xbox on then slapping the drive in and see if it recognizes it enough to reformat. otherwise you may need to get a new Hard drive. BTW you can buy a standard SATA harddrive, and crack open the hard drive casing and replace it that way, it is not considered a mod that way and won't brick system. happy gaming

I am seriously impressed with the improvements on this one versus any others. I especially love the ragdoll physics and interactions with the pedestrians. they fly over your car realitstically as you hit them, and they hang on to the door sometimes when you car jack them. sheer genious
