3 Down The Rabbit Hole And Back Again

First of all, Kagome's taking a bath in a lake and crys that the water is so cold. Kaede is telling her to get out , but she still stays in the bath. Then she thinks about what happaned the last few days. Then she gets out and get into Kikyo's clothing, she even has her hair in a Kikyo way!

InuYasha thinks she looks like Kikyo and toddels. Then a lady calls Kaede to help her and Kaede tells Inuyasha and kagome to try not to fight. Then InuYasha tells Kagome to take off her clothes, then Kagome bangs a rock on his head. "I mealt to get into your clothes not get naked!" Inuyasha yelled, pioting to her clothes. Then Kagome takes her clothes and walk away. Inuyasha askes where she's going and Kagome yells "HOME!"

Then it goes to Kaede and the lady. They were in the lady's hut and her child is ill. The lady says that she had been okay today, when she flew up and Kaede told the lady to back up. Then she notised that it looked like hair and then the knife wiggled to the child's hand and she lifed it.

Kagome is walking to the well and talking about InuYasha. Then she lays her clothes down and stands up. The minit she did, she got cut. "Looks like hair!" She said. Then a girl (a demon really,) named Yura appeared. She said to finish Kagome up and send hair down to get the box that held one shard. She opens it and finds one shard. She stays confadent and draws a sword, then jumps down. Kagome grapes and yura hit her. Then kagome flew into the well. "That's weird, to think about it, so is that girl!" Yura said.

InuYasha is runing to find Kagome and visits the villge. He see's girls handing with knifes and spaers and stuff. They all pick it up and Inuyasha knew they wanted to fight.

InuYasha got ready, then he notised they were villge-girls. He finds Kaede, who tells him stuff like to not hurt the girls. He doesn't lisen and started trying to hit them.

Then Yura is wanting to get Inuyasha into her caletion.

The girls fly up and Inuyasha gets tigled in hair. Then he trys to beak it, but it was hard (because he's kinda getting contruded). Yura takes the hair back and finds Inuyasha's silver hair.

Then Kagome is sitting in the well at her time, when sota and grandpa were looking into the well. Then Kagome is out with Sota and grandpa and Sota is asking where she got the cute Kikyo clothes. Kagome just went and hugedf grandpa and cried "I was so scared!"

2 The Seekers Of The Sacred Jewel

The villagers are beginning to close in around Inuyasha. He looks around, slightly amused. Kaede tells Kagome that she can't give him the jewel. Inuyasha begins running towards Kagome and Kagome runs away. Kagome trips over the bones of the centipede demon, which turns out to be a good thing because because of the fall, Inuyasha missed her head when he slashed at her with his claws. Kagome is surprised that Inuyasha actually tried to kill her. The villagers shoot arrows at Inuyasha but he just breaks them. He runs forward and with his claws, cuts down two trees, causing them to fall on the villagers. Kaede takes a necklace of black beads and some white (shells or teeth?). Kagome runs with Inuyasha right behind her. He lunges at her with his claws and misses again, but causes Kagome to fall forward. She drops the jewel and it rolls a little bit away. Meanwhile, the necklace is glowing purple and hovering in front of Kaede as she's chanting something. It disappears and reappears around Inuyasha's neck. Kaede yells at Kagome to utter a word to subdue Inuyasha. Kagome crawls forward and grabs the jewel, not knowing what Kaede is talking about. She runs forward and the ground breaks up under her. She falls down and drops the jewel. It rolls onto a rope bridge. Kagome wonders what she has to say to restrain Inuyasha as Inuyasha lands on the bridge. The jewel rolls towards him and he prepares to pick it up. Suddenly, his ears prick up and Kagome yells "SIT!" The necklace glows purple and Inuyasha's face gets crushed into the bridge. Kagome steps forward onto the bridge and Inuyasha tries to take the necklace off, but he can't. Kaede tells him that he can't remove it. Inuyasha threatens Kaede and Kagome says, "Sit" Inuyasha gets crushed into the bridge, but this time it doesn't hold and he falls into the river below. The villagers are rebuilding the village.

Inside Kaede's hut, Kaede is tending to Kagome's wound. (Where the shikon no tama came out). Kaede tells har that it's going to be a problem that the Shikon no Tama came back. Demons and people with evil in their hearts will come after it. Kagome looks to the side and sees Inuyasha, lying with his back to her. He wants her to hand over the Shikon no Tama, but knows he can't attack her since she can just say "sit" and he'll get hurt. Kagome asks him why he wants it since he's already strong he doesn't need to borrow the power of the jewel. Kaede tells Kagome that it's because he's a hanyou (half-demon). At this, Inuyasha punches a hole through the floor. He's angry that Kaede is acting as if she knows him. He tells him that she's Kaede and he remembers the "little brat" that was at Kikyo's side. Kaede tells him that it's been 50 years since Kikyo sealed him to the tree. Inuyasha asks if Kikyo's an old hag like her. Kaede informs him that Kikyo died the day she sealed him with her arrow. She then goes on to say that Kagome is the reincarnation of Kikyo. The fact that she carried the Shikon no Tama in her body is proof.

Kagome walks through the village, Kaede's words still in her head. The villagers are talking about Kagome being the reincarnation of Kikyo. Kagome looks to the side and sees the villagers bowing to her and praying to her. She runs away.

Inuyasha is sitting in a tree. He's thinking about Kikyo and how she's dead. A piece of fruit comes flying at his back and he easily catches it. Kagome is standing under the tree, laden with fruit and vegetables that the villagers have given her. She invites Inuyasha to come down so that they can eat them together.

Kagome is sitting calmly, eating, while Inuyasha glares at her. She asks him why he doesn't like her. She's not Kikyo, she's Kagome! Inuyasha drops the vegetable he was eating and jumps up into his tree. She asks him to be more friendly with her. "FEH!" He doesn't care who she is, he wants the Shikon no Tama. Kagome reminds him that she can just say, "sit" and Inuyasha falls face-first out of the tree. "Sorry sorry cancel that."

Kagome is in Kaede's hut, trying to fall asleep. She's been in the Feudal Era for two days now. She falls asleep.

A little ways away, in a tree, a crow with three red eyes sits. It senses the Shikon no Tama that is now around the sleeping Kagome's neck. Inuyasha lands in the tree and slashes at the crow demons, but they get away.

Daytime. Kagome is headed towards Inuyasha Forest to find the Dry Well. Since she came from there, maybe she'll be able to go back from there, too.

The villagers and Kaede are looking for Kagome. Inuyasha overhears that she's not in the village.

Kagome is walking through the forest. Bandits are following her. She sees the well in the clearing and is about to go there when the bandits drop down and grab her.

They bring her to a run down house. The leader tells Kagome to hand over the Shikon no Tama. His speech is slurred and he's in the shadows. He gets up and walks over to Kagome on wobbly legs. He draws his sword and two bandits hold Kagome in place. The boss brings his sword down, misses Kagome, and kills one of the men who was holding her in place. The rest of the bandits are horrified. He swings again, not caring whether her hits Kagome or his bandits. The bandits push Kagome forward, telling their boss that she's the one he needs to kill. Kagome points out to them that their boss is acting a little strange. Suddenly the bandits duck down and Kagome does the same just in time. The sword flies above her head.

Inuyasha is running through the forest. He lands in a tree and sniffs the air. He wonders where Kagome disappeared to with the Shikon no Tama.

The boss is still swinging and missing. The whole house is getting destroyed. By this point the bandits are trying to run away but the exit is blocked. Rubble falls onto one of the bandits and Kagome runs over to him and helps him out. The others run over to her and tell her that the exit is blocked. The boss is still telling Kagome to hand over the Shikon no Tama. Kagome notices that wherever she goes, the bandits go too, hiding behind her. She throws the Shikon no Tama away and tells the bandits to knock a hole in the wall. "Boss! It's not working!" (Notice how Kagome has now become the boss). The real boss has walked over to Kagome. He holds the sword over his head and begins to bring it down on her.

That's when Inuyasha bursts in through the wall and breaks the boss' sword. Kagome is happy to see him as he beats up the boss. The boss falls backwards and the bandits escape through the hole created by Inuyasha. Kagome asks Inuyasha if he came to rescue her and Inuyasha asks about the Shikon no Tama and whether or not it's safe. Kagome laughs nervously. Inuyasha notices that the boss' body is giving off a rotting, decomposing stench. As the boss' armor falls away, we see a hole in his chest leading to his heart. Inside the crow demon sits. It ate its way into his heart and has been sitting there, controlling his body. Inuyasha punches his hand into the hole where the man's heart was and the crow demon bursts out through the man's back while his body turns to bone. The crow demon flies out. Kagome asks Inuyasha whether or not he's going to go after it but Inuyasha isn't - that is until he sees that the crow demon takes the Shikon no Tama that Kagome threw out and flies off with it. Inuyasha bursts out of the building, dragging Kagome behind him. Suddenly he stops and looks at the horses the bandits left behind. On one of the horses is a bow and arrows. He goes off with Kagome holding the bow and arrows on his back. *commercials*

Inuyasha is jumping from tree to tree, following the crow demon with Kagome on his back. He tells Kagome to shoot the crow down but she says it's impossible since she's never shot a bow before. Inuyasha warns her that the crow demon lives off human flesh. Just then the crow swallows the Shikon jewel. She decides to try to shoot it down. Inuyasha tells her to shoot it down with her first shot since Kikyo was a master archer. She aims and reminds him that she's not Kikyo. She lets the arrow fly...and misses miserably. Inuyasha falls and slides on his face a few feet with Kagome still on his back. She asks him if Kikyo being a master archer was a lie.

The crow demon gets bigger. Inuyasha is running with Kagome on his back again. She takes aim, lets the arrow fly, and again misses. Inuyasha stops and drops Kagome off his back. "You are definitely not Kikyo's reincarnation!" Then he goes off by himself.

The crow flies over the village. It picks up a child and carries him off. Inuyasha is running alongside the crow. "I'm going to slice you up along with your food!" he says and Kagome yells at him to save the child. Inuyasha slashes the crow with his claws, breaking it up into pieces. The child falls into the river but Inuyasha is looking for the Shikon no Tama, not worrying about the drowning child.

Kagome pulls off her shoes and socks (THAT'S MARVELOUS AND GREAT SCAN) and dives into the river. She swims towards the child, grabs him, and swims to shore. Inuyasha yells at her from the opposite shore to find the Shikon no Tama. "HMMM!" Kagome ignores Inuyasha, shocking him. "Wha...what was that?!"

The crow demon pulls itself back together and flies out of the river. Inuyasha yells at Kagome, telling her that the dmeon is escaping. Suddenly the kid begins to yell. The demon's foot is still attacked to his back. Kagome borrows a bow from a villager.

Kagome aims at the demon, the foot tied to the arrow. She lets the arrow fly and it soars straight at the demon. The arrow hits, and a bright purple light comes from it. The Shikon no Tama begins to crack and then it breaks apart. The pieces shoot all over.

Sunset. Kagome and Inuyasha are looking for the jewel (NOW KAGOME HAD WEAR HER SHOES AND SOCKS. I'M VERY DISAPPOINTED FOR THIS BECAUSE I'D LIKE KAGOME WITH BARE FOOT FOR THIS MOMENT). A rustling is heard from the trees. The head of the crow demon is coming at them. Inuyasha slashes at it, destroying it. From the head falls a piece of the Shikon jewel. Kagome picks it up. Inuyasha spazzes...

1 The Girl Who Overcame Time And The Boy Who Was Just Overcome

A bunch of villagers are covering their faces and yelling, "It's Inuyasha!" with fear. A boy with long white hair, amber eyes, pointy dog ears on top of his head and dressed all in red bursts out of a building trapped in a net. He rips his way out of the net and laughs, using buildings and gates as push off points to go farther. The villagers are trying to capture him but it's no use. He bursts into a hut that looks like shrine and covers his nose with his arm - I assume it's because of the incense. In the center of the shrine is a jewel that's glowing with an eerily purple light. The boy snatches the jewel and villagers burst into the shrine through the doors behind him. He spins around, dodges the spears accidentally knocking over incense burners and setting the place on fire, and bursts through the roof of the building, jewel still in hand. He says that with the jewel he can now become a full blooded demon. He keeps running away from the village when suddenly a woman yells out, "INUYASHA!" She has a bow in hand and shoots an arrow at him. The arrow hits him through the heart and pins him to a tree. The boy drops the jewel. "Ki...Kikyo..." the boy says, and then dies. The woman stumbles to where the jewel is, leaving a trail of blood behind her. The villagers run over to her, along with her little sister. The woman picks up the jewel and winces in pain. Her whole body is shaking. Her little sister is trying to get her to go treat her wound but the woman tells her sister (she calls her Kaede) that it's already too late. She tells Kaede to burn the jewel along with her body. Then the woman dies. Her body is burned along with the jewel. Present day Tokyo. A cute girl wearing a pink sweater is talking to her grandfather about the Shikon no Tama. She's holding a small keychain with a glass ball on the end. Apparently her grandfather wants to sell the keychains. As he's talking about the history of the shikon no tama, a cat begins to play with the keychain. The old man clears his throat and refers to the girl as Kagome. He tries to continue telling the history of the shikon no tama but can't, since the cat is still playing with the keychain. Kagome asks her grandfather if he remembers what day tomorrow is. It's Kagome's birthday tomorrow. He gives her a mummified Kappa's hand since it brings good luck. (This is her birthday present). Kagome offers it to the cat (Buyo). Buyo takes the hand into his mouth and walks away.

Kagome begins the introduction. She lives in a 1000 year old shrine with her grandfather, mother, and little brother Souta. Inside the shrine there is a mysterious concealed well. It is Kagome's 15th birthday.

The next day Kagome leaves for school. As she's running through the courtyard (?) of the temple, she sees her little brother Souta by the entrance to the concealed well. She tells him that he's not supposed to be playing there, but he tells her that Buyo went down there. They go inside and hear a scratching coming from inside the well. Souta hides behind Kagome but Kagome tells him that it's probably just Buyo. Kagome begins to go down the steps towards the well and then hears the scratching. She realizes that it's coming from inside the well. Suddenly she screams, scaring Souta. But, it's only Buyo rubbing up against her leg. She picks him up and Souta tells her not to scream so loud. The scratching continues from inside the well, which is now found directly behind Kagome. A blue light comes out from between the boards that have been nailed shut over the well. Then the well bursts open. Things start coming out of it. They grab Kagome and pull her into the well.

The inside of the well is a mysterious blue. Kagome is beind held by six hands. The hands turn her around and she sees that they belong to a woman. The woman says something about her strength returning. Behind her, her skeleton begins to appear and then skin grows over it. She's a centipede. She brings Kagome closer to her and says. "You must have it." Kagome is struggling to free herself of the centipede woman. The woman licks Kagome's face with an incredibly long tongue and Kagome struggles more. She sticks out her hand in front of her and a strange purple light comes out of it, knocking the centipede woman backwards. However, one of the centipede's arms is still holding on to Kagome. As the woman falls backwards, she says something about the shikon no tama.

Kagome lands on all fours at the bottom of the well, the centipede woman's arm lands next to her. She wonders if it was a dream but then sees the arm and decides it wasn't. She calls to Souta to get Grandpa, but there's no answer. She climbs up the side of the well by using vines that have grown there when a butterfly flies next to her. Kagome watches it for a while and then continues climbing up. When she gets over the top of the well, she's surprised to find herself outside in a forest, not inside the shrine where she lives. In fact, there's no shrine anywhere. She calls out to her grandpa and mother, but there's no answer. She walks away from the well, still calling out but still not getting any answer in return. Then she recognizes the Sacred Tree. She runs to it, hoping to find her house.

She bursts into the clearing where the Sacred Tree is, to find a boy dressed all in red pinned to it by an arrow. Vines (or roots) have grown up all around his body. He has long white hair and pointy ears on top of his head and he looks like he's asleep.

Kagome climbs up the roots of the tree and tries to talk to him, but no reply. She reaches for his ears, noticing that they aren't human ears. She wants to touch them, so she does. After a while she realizes that she's wasting time. Suddenly, a bunch of villagers see her. "What are you doing here?" they yell, bows drawn. Then arrows fly, hitting all around the boy and Kagome.

Kagome is sitting on a mat in the middle of the village, arms and legs tied. Everyone is staring at her, talking about her strange clothing (she's still wearing her school uniform) and wondering if she's a foreigner. Kagome wonders where she is when a priestess by the name of Kaede arrives. Kaede begins throwing some weird powder at Kagome and Kagome yells, "What is the meaning of this?!" Kaede explains to her that they thought she might be a demon in disguise. Suddenly, Kaede seems to realize something. She grabs Kagome's face and inspects it carefully. Then Kaede steps back and says, "You resemble sister Kikyo"

It's night time. Kaede is cooking something. She puts some of it in a bowl and hands the bowl to Kagome, along with some chopsticks. Kagome takes the bowl gratefully and begins to eat. Kaede tells Kagome about the wars going on recently and Kagome asks if she's in Tokyo. "Tokyo? Never heard of it before," is Kaede's answer. She asks if it's Kagome's country and awkwardly, Kagome tells Kaede that she'd like to go home. Silently she wonders how she's supposed to get back. Kaede thinks of her sister Kikyo's death. It has been 50 years since then...

Something is moving very quickly through the grass. It moves like a snake...or a centipede... The centipede reaches the village and begins destroying huts. Villagers are running, ringing a warning bell. Kaede and Kagome peer out of Kaede's hut. They run out when they see the centipede woman that pulled Kagome into the well. She's destroying the village. The centipede yells at them to hand over the Shikon no Tama. Kaede asks Kagome if she has the Shikon no Tama, but Kagome doesn't really know what she's talking about. Nothing seems to be working on the centipede demon. Kaede says that they have to drive it back to the dry well in Inuyasha Forest. Kagome realizes that the well must be where she came out of. She asks if it's in the direction of the bright light and then runs off. Kaede is shocked. "That girl can see things ordinary people can't see," she says as Kagome runs towards the forest, hoping the centipede demon will follow her.

Kagome is running as hard as she can, wondering if anyone will save her. The centipede demon is right behind her. "Anybody, help!!!" Kagome yells out.

In the forest, we hear a heartbeat and see Inuyasha. Suddenly, he flexes his claws. "I can smell the girl who killed me!" he says, lifting his face and hand. He tries to take the arrow out, but he can't. There's a spell on it. *commercials*

Kagome is still running with the centipede demon right behind her, yelling for the shikon no tama. Kagome insists that she doesn't know what she's talking about. The centipede attacks, causing Kagome to fly through the air and land at the foot of the sacred tree. "Hey Kikyo!" She hears above her. She looks up and sees the boy, looking down at her with amber eyes. Kagome stares at the boy as he continues talking to her, calling her Kikyo the entire time. When Kagome gets angry and starts telling the boy that she's not Kikyo he says, "It comes."

The centipede demon forces Kagome away from the boy. Suddenly, arrows appear in the demon's side. The villagers have come. They pull the centipede away from Kagome. The boy laughs at Kagome, still calling her Kikyo. Kagome's had enough. She gets up and tells him that she's not Kikyo. "No other girl smells this disgusting except you!" The boy replies. Then slightly surprised he sniffs the air. "You are...not Kikyo?" he says. "My name is Kagome! Ka - go - me!" The centipede demon comes in from behind and grabs Kagome who in turn grabs the boy's hair.

A villager yells to Kaede. "Inuyasha has awakened!"

The centipede yells for the Shikon no Tama. That gets the boy's (Inuyasha's) attention. The centipede lunges at Kagome with huge teeth. She puts her hand out in front of her and yells out. Lights comes from her fingers, blowing the centipede back. Three arms fall to the ground and Kagome remembers that this also happened in the well. The villagers are shocked. Kagome wonders how she's able to do this thing. Something in her side begins to glow. The centipede attacks, knocking Kagome into the air. Kagome's side bursts open and a small-ish purple ball comes out of her side. It's the Shikon no Tama.

Kagome falls to the ground, along with the Shikon Jewel. Inuyasha yells at her to give it to him. But the centipede demon wraps its body around them and squeezes Kagome to the tree where Inuyasha is pinned.

The centipede mocks Inuyasha, referring to him as a hanyou (half-demon). Kagome asks Inuyasha if he's strong. He looks at her wide-eyed but doesn't reply. The centipede keeps mocking him. Then the centipede uses its extremely long tongue to take the Shikon no Tama in. Its arms return to its body. Its skin then falls away from its body, revealing a hideous monster underneath. It squeezes Kagome tighter.

Inuyasha asks her to pull the arrow out. She reaches for it. Kaede yells at her not to pull it out since it is Inuyasha's seal. Inuyasha yells at Kaede that if the centipede completely absorbs the Shikon no Tama, it's the end. The centipede's body is pulsing with a strange reddish glow. "Do you want to die here also?!" he yells at Kagome. She pulls herself up and grabs the arrow. With a yell she pulls on it as purple light glows all around it. Then it vanishes.

Purple light comes from Inuyasha. His whole body pulses like a heart. "Inu...ya...sha!" Kagome says, disbelievingly.

Inuyasha laughs like a maniac. The centipede squeezes her body onto him tighter still but he breaks free with a flash of yellow light. With one slash of his claws, he destroys the demon. "Heh!" he says as the demon falls apart behind him.

"He...he really is strong..." Kagome manages to say. Beside her, a part of the centipede twitches. Kaede and the villagers run over to her. Kaede asks her if she sees a glowing lump of flesh. She tells her that the Shikon no Tama should be inside. They have to extract it or the centipede will revive. Kagome looks around frantically and sees it. Kaede takes it out and the centipede's skin melts away, leaving behind nothing but bones. Kaede hands the Shikon no Tama to Kagome and tells her that she's the only person who can use it. Kagome wonders why it was inside her body.

Inuyasha steps forward, stepping on the bones of the dead demon. He tells Kagome that that kind of thing is useless for a human, so she better hand it over if she doesn't want to die. Eeeee?! This guy wasn't a hero?!

Episode 22 - Created Human

Hughes is on the phone, looking a little annoyed, and in his PJs (pink with yellow birds, heh). He's talking with Mustang, who is bothered by something. Hughes tells him that they haven't caught Scar yet, or is he worried about Marcoh? That does bother him, but mainly its because he hasn't had any screentime in a while (He broke the fourth wall!). Hughes hangs up, annoyed. We then see that he's not alone. Broche, Ross, and Armstrong are there with him (standing by in uniform). Armstrong asks shouldn't he have told Mustang about the Elric brothers? Hughes tells him he doesn't have to, yet. He then tells them that he has men on standby who are supposed to guard the library (where the brothers were) tomorrow. They're good shots, reliable in a raid. He will permit an investigation of the Fifth Lab. Back at the lab, Scar slams against a wall. Gluttony waddle-runs over to him, but Scar punches him away. He throws up a lot of dust, and then comes out of the cloud, headbutting Scar into another wall, and through it. Scar falls into the room where Greed was. It's obvious Gluttony does not want to go down there. Back in the room where Ed fought the Slicers, Al faces off against Lust. Lust tells him about how it's been a while since she saw him. The first time she saw him was about four years ago, a night where the sky filled with fireworks (episode 4). He asks what is she. He says that she can't be a Homunculus, they're artificially created humans. A human that isn't human. No one has created one before. It's not possible. Lust tells him it is, because in front of her stands a boy who only has his soul. She extends her nails and drives Al to the wall. From behind, Gluttony grabs him, asks if he can eat him, and then takes a large bite of Al. Back in the room with the Red Water, Tucker and Elder (Elder Slicer brother will now be called Elder, btw) watch Ed as he reads several alchemic papers spread out on the floor. Ed's beginning to understand what the research in this place was. The lab was made to research Alchemy for military-purposes. Tucker tells Ed that this room was already like this when he was brought there. Ed still doesn't want to use the Red Water, though, because they're made from people. But Tucker asks him does it really matter? Elder agrees, the people used for the Red Water won't be comming back. They have no use in their current state. Better to use them for a purpose. Ed looks into one of the walls and sees Al (as a human), who smiles back (it's his imagination). He climbs onto one of the tubes, claps his hands, and creates another Transmutation Circle on the ceiling. Back at the HQ, Hughes, Ross, and the others are running down a hall, ready to get going, when a door opens. Out steps the Fuhrer, in his PJs (pale blue with white flowers), who is surprised to see so many people working late. He then speaks to them about the Fifth Lab, which surprises them. He tells them that he turned a blind eye to the Lab because Gran was doing it for the good of the military. However, with the lives of two young alchemists in danger, he will intervene. He will go along with the soldiers to save them. All of the soldiers are happy (he's the leader of the military and country, after all, it's an honor), but Hughes has a somewhat dark look on his face. Back in the lab, Lust is sitting on top of Al. She asks about Scar, and Gluttony tells her he dropped him into the "bad place." Greed may interrupt at any time, so they need to get Ed to hurry up. Back with Ed, he and Tucker are walking up a flight of stairs and walk into a room that is similar to the one below, though the walls do not have any Red Water. The Red Water is contained in a large container in the middle of the room. Ed knows what to do. He closes the door, and we see Gran, who was hidden by it (so Ed couldn't see him). It's Envy, of course. He walks over to the container, and one wall comes down, showing the prisoners. Envy comments about how humans don't change, even after so many years of evolution. The wall closes again. Inside, one of the soldiers wonders if that guy is really a soldier. Kimbley asks if they really think that's Gran. Back down below, Ed tells Tucker that he'll transmute both rooms at once. Neither room has enough, but if they get slammed together, it'll be enough. He then changes the circle on the floor from a hexagon (six corners) to one with seven corners (Septogon? Don't know my shapes, heh), as well as changing a bit of the internal makeup of the circle. The image just popped into his mind. Ed will make the Stone, give Al his body back, and then vanish. They can do what they want with the Stone after that. Back upstairs, the prisoners are getting anxious. Kimbley tells them to shut up, and one of them says that not even he, the Mad Bomber, could be calm at a time like this. He chuckles and says that they've been gossiping. He asks them how did he kill his allies? One of them says he used explosives. Kimbley replies that he used no such thing. He shows a prisoner his hands and walks toward him, explaining that the human body is made mostly of water. However, it contains particles of metal. He places his hands on the prisoner, pushing him back, and tells him that if you use its properties and some organic matter, you can easily create a bomb. The man, at this point, looks like he's in pain. Kimbley then adds that with that much Red Water around him, he can make a great bomb. He pushes him against the wall, and *boom!* The explosion wakes up Scar, too. Back in the Red Room, Ed is coughing from the smoke, as are the prisoners. He is shocked to learn that he almost used real living people, not just Red Water. Tucker laughs at him. Ed asks the prisoners who brought them there, and Envy steps out, as Gran, telling him he did it. Ed charges Envy and attempts to punch him, but Envy transforms to its normal form, dodging the punch. Ed tells him that he saw Gran die before his eyes. Envy prods Ed a bit, and Ed tries to fight, but Envy jokes, saying he doesn't like to fight. Ed prepares to transmute his arm into a sword when the Auto-mail finally fails. Envy kicks him in the face three times, sending him flying. Envy tells him that the only reason he's alive is because he told them to keep him alive. Envy gets angrier, telling him that he'll never forgive him, because he has that b*stards blood flowing in his veins. But just as he's about to kick Ed again, Lust stops him and picks up Elder's head. She tells Envy that it is his fault for not checking the ingredients thoroughly enough. She tells him that if he doesn't want to get hurt, he should finish up. They still have the ingredients. Gluttony then drags in Al, and Lust tells Ed that they're not asking, they're telling. Al tells Ed that they are Homunculi (plural form of Homunculus). Tucker confirms it. If he worked for them, they would give him the secret of how to make the Homunculi, and with that, he could make Nina again. But Ed tells him that she still won't have her soul. Tucker tells him that he has her soul, in his mind. Everything he needs to make her soul is in there. Al hears this, and this further adds onto Barry's words and whatever it was Ed wanted to talk about. Ed tells Tucker that it still won't be Nina, but Envy interrupts him with a kick to the face, telling him to stop the chitchat and start the transmutation. Ed asks why can't they do it, and Lust reveals that they can't use Alchemy, they need someone else to do it for them. He asks why they want the Stone. To conquer the world? Lust wants to become human. Ed then asks that there must be an Alchemist who created them, but Envy interrupts again with another kick, telling him that they weren't created, they were born. The only thing they could do was give hints about the Philosopher's Stone and hope that someone would take them. Ed and Al were the ones. Lust tells Ed that it's Equivalent Exchange. She teaches him how to make the Stone, he makes it and turns them human, and then he turns Al human. Ed tells her that he can't trust them, but she says its an order. She opens up Elder's visor and starts to scratch his Circle. Finally, he breaks. Ed can't believe she did that. She then prepares to do it to Al if he doesn't comply. Ed asks them to not hurt his little brother, but Al tells him its ok, and then trails off, Barry's words, Tucker's word's, and Ed's unspoken words going through his mind. Ed tells him to be quiet and fixes the ceiling. Gluttony helps herd the prisoners into the center and Ed finishes setting up. Scar, meanwhile, is walking down a small hall and sees an opening into a room with a red glow. He looks in and sees Ed and the Homunculi. Ed prepares himself to transmute them, but Al is shouting at him to stop. They're human! Envy replies, so what? Al tells Ed that he doesn't want to get his normal body back if he has to sacrifice so many lives to get it. Envy laughs, telling him that it thought they learned after trying to bring back their mother. Human Transmutation requires the lives of other humans to work. In order to live, one must take the life of another. All adults know that they need to ascrifice something to get something. When Ed became a State Alchemist, he entered the world of the Adults. He can't act like a child now. Ed mentions that this must be the genuine truth behind truths. He kneels,a bout to activate it. Al screams to Ed. Ed tells him that if they stop there...but he stops and apologizes. He can't do it. Envy groans and approaches Ed, but as he does, there's an explosion, and glass flies, one of the tubes breaking, spilling the Red Water onto the floor. A hole forms in one of the walls, even more water spilling. Scar calls out to Ed, telling him to take Al and escape. He tells Ed that an Older Brother needs to protect the Younger. Ed realizes the truth in his words and runs to Al, but before he reaches him, he steps in a puddle of the Red Water. Ed begins to glow and steam shoots out from the Water. The Red Water is amplifying his powers at a tremendous rate. Without even clapping his hands, he turns his right arm into an arrow (still connected) and shoots it at Lust, who dodges, more Red Water spilling out. She mentions that although the stone is incomplete, this much exposure could turn Ed into a God. Ed begins to shoot giant spikes out of the ground at them. Tucker and the others flee. Back outside, the soldiers prepare to enter. The Furher tells them to save Ed and Al. Anyone else is to be terminated. They enter. Inside, a group comes across Kimbley, but before they can react, a woman jumps down and cuts through them. Kimbley looks to his right and sees Greed with several people. Greed smiles. Ross, Broche, and Armstrong reach the Red Room, Ed still going crazy, unable to stop the transmutation. Ross braves the maelstrom and reaches Ed, hugging him, trying to break him free. Ed seems to think she is his mother and falls unconscious. Back outside, Lust, Envy, and Gluttony are dressed up as soldiers, leaving the building. They pass by the Fuhrer's Secretary, who congratulates them on a good job. We see an explosion, and then we see a shirtless Armstrong carrying an unconscious Ed and Al in his arms. Everyone's clapping.

Episode 21 - Red Glow

Back outside the lab, Barry laughs and charges Al and throws a chop from the right, which Al blocks. Barry and Al jump back and Barry laughs again, asking him what's wrong. He then says that an artificial soul isn't all that good. Al yells that he's Alphonse Elric, but then Barry charges, slamming Al into the wall (causing a big dent). He tells Al that he doesn't have any proof of it. Al counters, what about Barry? He's in the same position as Al. He could be fake, too. Barry jumps back a bit, putting some distance, and Al continues to try and retaliate against Barry's words, but he sees that Barry is looking at something nearby. They see a shadowed figure jump down from the wall. Barry laughs, glad to have so much fun today. He tells Al he knows he's real because he loves cutting up people. "I kill, therefore I am!" Barry charges the shadowed figure, and is about to cut him, but his right arm is caught, and we see that the shadowed figure was Scar. Barry tries to free himself, but Scar destroys his right arm, which shocks Barry. Scar then pulls up his sleeve, revealing the tattoo, which further shocks the murderer. He wonders how can it be there? Scar realizes that Barry knows something about the tattoo, and asks him about it. Barry acts sly, moving away to the wall of the Lab. Searching the wall, he opens a small panel, and laughing, hits the button, causing an explosion. Inside the lab, we see a room glowing red with weird symbols, a man bound on the floor. On the ceiling is a skull, which gets knocked off, the glow stopping. The man gets up, laughing crazily, and breaks free of his restraints. With an evil grin, he comments about how it's been about 130 years. Elsewhere in the lab, we see a prison of some sorts with a lot of chimeras. This man breaks in, telling them that if they want to go to the outside world and have some fun, to go with him. We see the shadows of what looks like several people, too. Back outside, Al and Scar are in the wreckage (Al is kinda protecting Scar). Barry is standing on some rubble, skipping and laughing. There are bombs throughout the building which he can use to help hide. He runs inside and tells Scar that if he wants to learn about his arm, he can follow. Scar and Al follow. Ed, meanwhile, wonders what the explosion was. The Elder Slicer brother tells Ed about the bombs, and that they should hurry because others could be triggered due to the shock. Ed picks up the Elder brother, but wonders what to do about the younger. Younger tells him to not worry, just finish him off, but Ed can't do it. He tells Ed he can't do anything in his body right now. Ed could fix him, but he won't let him do it, he doesn't want to be the guard again. Ed tells him that once he has the Stone, he could turn them both to human...but the Elder tells him that if they became human again, they would just be executed. The Younger places his thumb against his Blood Circle (the Transmutation Circle that keeps his soul bound to the armor). Ed drops the Elder, trying to stop the Younger, but he won't let him. He's happy that Ed called him human, that's why he can't go back to being #48. The Younger tells Elder that he's going ahead, and destroys his Circle, releasing his soul. Ed can't believe he chose to do that, and doesn't want Al to do the same. Quiet now, he picks up Elder and walks further into the lab. Next door, at the Prison, the guards outside are shocked to see the plume of smoke coming from the Fifth Lab. Inside, two guards are walking down the hall, collecting prisoners. Evidently, they're going to be used for Research. They're interupted by another tremor, and one wonders if its an earthquake. A voice comes from a nearby cell, telling them that its the sound of a building collapsing. Inside, we see a disheveled (sp?) man, who looks quite familiar. He is Kimbley, who participated in the Ishbal Massacre (sp?) as the Crimson Alchemist, also called the Mad Bomber. He killed many of his own allies as well as his enemies. We see his hands and they have the same Transmutation Circles as the insane man we saw in the flashback of the Ishbal Massacre. After that, we see Gran taking the prisoners out. It's obviously not Grna, though (but the soldiers don't know that), and we hear Lust talking about Envy gathering the ingredients (in other words, that's Envy). Gluttony calls Lust over and they both look over into a giant hole. The hole goes through several floors. At the bottom is the room where that man was, the designs dark. Lust realizes that they need to work quickly, or else Greed could mess things up (Greed was the one in that room). Ed and Elder are walking down the hall, and Ed tells him that there better not be any more traps. Elder tells him that no one has gotten this far, so there's no worry. However, they hear growling, and several Chimeras bound out of the dark. Ed throws Elder into the air (he's just a helmet now) and kills several of them. But as he cuts through them, he hears a whistle, and the remaining Chimeras bow their head. Ed wonders who else could be alive, and they hear loud footsteps. Out of the shadows steps a giant creature, looking like some sort of bull standing on its back legs. However, there's some strange human-like flesh near its head . He's the one who created the Chimeras. The creature tells Ed that he didn't create all of them, though, his voice familiar, though raspy and whispering. The beast leans back, revealing its face. It is Tucker. Ed grabs him and demands as to why he's still there. He was executed! But Elder tells him that the Slicers were "executed" too, and they're still there. Ed asks why is he still alive when Nina is dead. Tucker tells him that it's for Nina's sake. He understands how Ed feels now. Elsewhere in the building (where Ed transmuted the whole hallway into a smooth passageway), Scar and Al are walking down it. Al tries to get Scar off of the idea of killing his brother. Al tells him that they don't want the Philosopher's Stone for bad reasons, just to help themselves. But Scar tells him that they don't realize how horrible the stone is, and has a flashback to Ishbal. We see a young Scar (with brown hair) knocking on a door, calling for his brother. The doro finally opens, and we see the camera slowly pan up on the half of his brother, Bruce (not his real name, a name that we've given him), that is visible. In the background, we hear something steaming, and there's a lot of blood. Although he didn't say what he lost, it's pretty easy to tell (Ouch). He talks about the Philosopher's Stone, wondering if it could bring her back. Later, we see an older Scar (with his usual colored hair now), running through the warzone. He knocks on another door, calling for his brother. This time, he walks out, crying, and completely tattooed and nude. He talks about how he wanted to create the Stone to save Ishbal and bring back her, but in order to make the Stone, Ishbal must perish. He walks off into the distance, Scar calling out after him. Al brings Scar back from his memories and tries to comfort him. But they are interrupted by Lust and Gluttony. Scar asks why does she have her face. Did Bruce succeed? Gluttony asks if he can eat them. Scar calls them Homunculus, and Al can't believe it. Back inside the lab, Ed, Elder, and Tucker are walking through a room with a lot of shelves with stuff on them. Tucker tells him that he didn't just make Chimeras here, there are many other research projects. Ed knows that a normal Alchemist can't affix souls to objects, and demands who did it. Marcoh? Gran? Or...? (Just a guess on my part, but I think he thinks it may've been his father - Maenos). Just then, Ed hears something, and looks at the curtains behind him. Tucker tells him to be careful, she's shy. He pulls open the curtains and sees several large tubes with Chimeras in them, all of them looking somewhat human, bearing Nina's face. Tucker tells him that they can't hold their form when they touch air still, so they're unstable. He has tried to create a Chimera that looks like Nina several times, and then after one of them he ended up as he is now. But, he's almost there. He leads Ed to another room with a soft red glow. Ed runs in, spinning around. The walls are glass with Alchemic writing, there are several tubes in a pattern, a large Transmutation Circle on the floor. The tubes and the walls hold a giant amount of Red Water, which gives the room its red glow. He runs to one tube and turns a valve, a little bit of the Red Water dripping out, hardening into a Red Stone. He recognizes it as the Incomplete Stone that Marcoh had. Tucker tells him that although it's incomplete, it still has a great amount of power. He theorizes that if he used enough of the Incomplete, he could turn it into the true Philosopher's Stone. During this, Al and Scar are fighting Gluttony and Lust. Lust cuts the sleeve off of Scar's right arm (his right arm is fine), and we see the tattoo again. And then we see the Transmutation Circle in the room, and it looks exactly like it. However...no one has succeeded with this before. No ordinary Alchemist can do it. Ed tells him that he's no ordinary Alchemist, to which Tucker smiles.

Episode 20 - The Guardian's Soul

While the battle between Ed and Number 48, Al is attacked outside by Number 66. Upon discovering that Number 48's secret, Number 48 reintroduces himself as the Slicer who was executed two years ago. As the battle rages on, Ed begins feel something weird in his shoulder. The lighter auto-mail is not as durable as his old one. While Ed is having trouble with Slicer, Number 66 seems to pose little challenge for Al. When Number 66 loses his helmet, he also reintroduces himself as the former Barry the Chopper. After an intense fight, Ed manages to decapitate Slicer rendering his body immobile. However, Ed is in for a surprise. Slicer's body can still move for there is more than one soul attached to the suit of armor. Fatigued, Ed nearly loses his life before he remembers his goal. With the last of his strength, he splits the body of armor in two and claims victory. In defeat, the two brothers ask for death, but Ed replies that he cannot destroy them for they are human. If he admits that they are not human, then it would mean Al is not human either. Upon learning that Ed was Al's brother, Barry capitalizes on the situation and casts doubt into the mind of Al. His comments cause Al to question his past and his relationship with his brother. Coupled with the gaps in his memory, Al begins to doubt his existence. With the possibility that his personality and memories were merely implanted into him, Al goes into denial. Back in the lab, the brothers are amazed that for once in their lives, they were recognized as being human. Throughout their entire lives, they were looked at in contempt, but after that had all been thrown away, they are treated like humans. Outside, Al suddenly remember and wonder what Ed wanted to ask that night in Rizenbul.

Episode 19 - The Truth Behind Truths

The Philosopher's Stone gives happiness in the face of adversity, victory in battle, and revival of the dead. Ed and Al are faced with a mind boggling dilemma. After discovering the truth about the Stone, Ed is faced with a difficult decision whether or not to continue his research. The two brothers are completely disheartened with their discovery. Respectfully, Ross has decided to leave the brothers alone and allow them to solve their own ethical issues. Unwilling to give up, Al begs Ed to resume his research, but Ed has already given up. Believing that nothing a person ever does it pointless, Ross tells Ed that because he is a child, he is afraid of losing the answer and afraid of admitting that everything he has done up until now has been pointless. Her talk with Ed instills some motivation in Ed and reminds him to never lose sight of his goal and to never give up. Upon re-reading Marco's note to him, Ed gets an idea. According to the data, creating the Philosopher's Stone requires a large-scale alchemy lab. Studying a map, Al points out the 5th Laboratory which was shut down and near a prison. Ed deduces that the research must have been conducted there because the prison served at a human parts bin for the researchers. Because if was formerly under the control of Gran, the site seems even more ideal. Ed and Al decide to head to the 5th Laboratory to search the premises of the lab themselves. However, Ross manages to convince Ed and Al to stay put where it is safe while her and Bloch search the lab instead. Even after their promise to stay put, Ed and Al sneak out anyway. While Ed is busy sneaking into the 5th Laboratory, Scar has appeared at the dormitories and is in search of Ed. He finds their room empty but spots the map with the 5th Laboratory circled and darts out the window before he can be caught by the military. Elsewhere in the city, Lust and Gluttony meet up with Envy who has just finished tying up lose ends in Lior. Ed has finally made it inside the building and finds traps hidden at every step. Reaching the end of the corridor, Ed enters a hall only to find an opponent waiting for him. He is known as Number 48. Outside, Al is suddenly attacked by a character by the name of Number 66.

Episode 18 - Marco's Note

A crescent moon hanging in the sky is seen. We see Central Library, dark and quiet... Well, quiet except for the sound of someone messily eating something. Inside, Lust surveys the shelves, carrying a three pronged candle with her. She realizes how hard it'll be to find the book there. She starts to walk down past the shelves when Scar peeks out from an aisle she has passed, watching her. Scar wonders if she really is her, and flashes back to a memory of his brother and a woman with him, who looks a lot like Lust. He makes a sound, and Lust turns, hearing it. She sees Scar and smiles. Scar looks at her and comments on how she looks so much like her, but she isn't her. Just then, we hear Gluttony talking about smelling the blood-soaked Ishbalian (Scar). We see him appear from the shadows, face covered in blood and laughing insanely. Lust asks Scar if he's after Ed, and then tells him she can't let him do that, he's trying to make the Philosopher's Stone. Gluttony then charges Scar, wanting to eat him, too. Cut to the Opening. Ed celebrates their finally arriving in Central. Ed wants to get going right away, and Al follows, but Armstrong tells them that the Library won't be going anywhere. As they leave the station, they are met by two more soldiers, one a man with blonde hair in a way that looks a lot like Ed's, and the other a woman with short black hair and a mole under her left eye. They are Sgt. Danny Bloch and Lt. Maria Ross. They are to continue guarding Ed because Armstrong has to return to HQ. Like many others, they address Al as the Fullmetal Alchemist, not Ed. When they learn of who Ed really is, Bloch is surprised, and when Ed confronts him, he begins to babble that he thought Ed would be more full and more metal, heh. Ed sighs, hoping they won't be a nuisance, and heads off, with Bloch running after him telling him they have a car waiting. Al apologizes to Ross about his brother's behavior. They head off for the Library. However... There was a fire last night, and most of the First Branch is now destroyed. Ed and Al stare in disbelief at the wreckage. Ross tells them that, according to eyewitnesses, the main suspect of it is Scar. Ed tries to pick up the remnants of a book, but it falls to ash in his hands. At Central HQ, Hughes squeals (well, sorta) and continues to praise Elysia. Of course, he's annoying Mustang, who contemplates whether it is possible to send fire over the phone line to scorch the other person's ear. Hughes laughs at that, and then becomes serious, telling him about the Library. They know Scar was involved. However, it's unlikely that he did it all by himself. There is evidence of a fight. The fight, it seemed, extended to the waterways, where they found his jacket, soaked in blood. It's unknown if he's alive. There also seems to be a rumor saying that, in the wake of Gran's death, one Colonel Mustang may be transfered back to Central. Though, some also say Mustang's behind all this. Mustang thinks that's idiotic, but likes the idea of returning. Hughes warns him that he has a lot of enemies in the higher-ups. He needs to get as many allies as he can. He also... Needs to hurry up and find a wife. With an angered shout, Mustang slams the phone down. Back at Central Library (remember, only the First Branch was destroyed. The Library is quite big), Ed, Al, Ross, Bloch, and the two employees of the First Branch look at the only remaining books, none of which are what they want. One of the employees says that they didn't find any sign of a book by Tim Marcoh. If it was moved to another branch, it would be in the records. It's possible that someone borrowed it, though. However, the records of those were destroyed. Ed thinks that knowing if it even was there would be useful, and asks if there was anyone else who worked at the First Branch. They say there wasn't. But Ed recalls a mousty girl with glasses who wsa there the last time he visited (way back in episode 7). The woman smiles, knowing of her. That was Scieszka, who was fired. She was strange, a real bookworm. So, they decide to visit her house. They knock at the door, but no one answers. The lights are on inside, though, so Ed bursts in. There are books EVERYWHERE. They then hear someone calling out for help from inside the pile. They quickly set to work to dig her out, which results in Bloch, Ed, and Al being covered in more books. Eventually, they get her free. Scieszka (may be called Bookworm-lady from here on out, dunno if I can spell her name correctly forever) sighs and says that she was always told that she would die with her head in a book, but she didn't think it would be literal. Ed asks if she really did work at the First Branch, which she did. But, she was fired because she read all the time. She needs the money for her sick mother, but she doesn't have a job, and only reads books all the time. Ed asks her if she read a book by Tim Marcoh, and she thinks about it. Yup, she did. She remembers reading it. So, the book was there, and is now ash. Scieszka feels what Ed feels, though for the wrong reasons (she knows what it's like to not be able to read a book you want to, and goes on to talk abou how she held "expeditions" for books in the library). Ed has a backup plan, though. He is going to attempt to transmute ALL the burnt books back to normal, but before he can, a strong breeze blows all the ash away. However, Scieszka comes forward and tells Ed that she can make a copy of the book. Once she reads a book, she can remember it, word for word. Three days, and tons of paper, later, she has fully rewritten Tim Marcoh's book, "Today's Menu, 1000 Dishes." (Title may be slightly different in the Dub) They can't believe it, it seems that it's the wrong book. Looking through the book, Ross confirms that they are recipes. Bloch asks if she copied the wrong book, but Scieszka is sure she didn't. Ed thanks her, though, and writes down a number on a piece of paper, and hands it, and his watch, to Ross. If they present that to the State Alchemist Organization, they'll give him the amount he's written down. He and Al leave with the papers, and Ross follows, giving Bloch the stuff. Bloch and Scieszka look at it and are astounded by the amount written (it's part of his research funds). Ross catches up with Ed and Al, and asks where they are going. They're heading to the Library, because they'll need to look up a lot of things. Ross doesn't want them to go, because they need more guards. But Ed continues past her, and Al apologizes, as this is the first real clue they've had for a long time. In the library, Ed looks over the notes. He reveals that, though this looks like it's all recipies, it's really written in code. Marcoh did his in th e guise of cooking food, as Alchemy is said to have been created in the kitchen (though it's not said in the Anime, in the manga, it's revealed that Ed does his Alchemic notes in the form of Travelogues, and Mustang in the names of women). It should be easy to decode it. Many hours later, though, Ed and Al still haven't broken it. Just then, Hughes comes to pay them a visit. They begin to chat, and Bloch notices how casual they are with each other, which is strange, for the military. Ross marches in and addresses Hughes, telling him that she wants Ed and Al moved to a place with better security. Hughes admits that she's right, but they should ask Armstrong, but neither wants to. Ed pleads with Hughes to let them stay, and then says that, due to the fire, most of their records were destroyed. Ed hears this and has an idea. He takes him to see Sciezska, who read all of them. He reveals to Hughes that she can rewrite the records verbatim (hope I'm using that word right), and Hughes is happy to hear it. He hires Sciezska on the spot, and then sees Ed smiling smugly at him. With a laugh, he tells Ed that he'll allocate more guards to them. As Hughes leaves, Ross tries to stop him, but Hughes tells her that they can only protect the boys, and it's something she'll understand when she has children. We see a flashback to Scar's brother and the woman next to him. The woman turns to face us, and chagnes to Lust, who smiles evily. We see Gluttony charge at Scar, surprisingly fast for a large person. Scar lunges at him and his hand lands on Gluttony's head. With a flash of light, a large gyser of blood shouts out the back of his head (note, this was cut in the dub airing on AS, but will be on the DVD). Gluttony, blood still spurting (this wasn't cut), smiles and grabs Scar's waist. Scar cringes and spits some blood. He touches his hand to Gluttony's arm (his left arm) and with another flash of light, he cuts clear through it, sending Gluttony back, screaming. Scar hits the shevles behind him, but jumps away as Lust cuts through it. She smiles, tosses the candles aside, and charges at Scar. She misses, but cuts through the walkway, and Scar jumps back, Lust and Gluttony following. Scar lands, and narrowly dodges another swipe by Lust's claws. Gluttony lands on top of her. Scar faces the two of them, blood trickling down his face. The candles on the floor above catch several fallen books on fire. Scar looks at Lust adn Gluttony and calls them Homunculi (plural form of Homunculus, Latin for Little Man). Lust is surprised that there are still people alive who know of that term. Gluttony charges Scar once more, but Scar destroys the floor of the library, as well as the wall behind him, vanishing. His escape also destroys much of the First Branch. What's left is all aflame. On top of the building now, Lust and Gluttony watch the fire below. Gluttony is sad he couldn't eat Scar. Lust wishes she could've read Marcoh's report, but it's ok, it's gone now. Scar wakes up in a bed. A young kid pulls open the flap to the tent and sees he's awake. He asks if Scar's an Ishbalian, and then tells him that he's an Ishbalian as well, this is a refugee camp. Scar, heavily bandaged, is taken to see the (apparently) village elder, who tells him that there are many camps like this one. Scar is surprised that so many of his people are alive, and is glad about it. He also knows that Scar is wanted by the State, but they don't betray their own kind there. Scar looks at his tattooed arm, and the kid sees it. Back at the library, Bloch and Ross still wait outside the room with Ed and Al. Bloch stretches and yawns. Ross sighs and tells Bloch that it's their duty to protect them until they find what they're looking for. But just then, they hear Ed shout out in anger. Ed is leaning over the papers, eyes angry, realizing why it's called the Devil's Research, and why Marcoh stopped his research. Ross opens the door a little and looks in, hearing what Ed says next. The Philosopher's Stone uses Living People as a component. Back at the refugee camp, the kid asks if Scar is about to leave, which he is. He thanks for the hospitatlity. The kid comments on how cool Scar's arm looks. Scar tells him it's something a family member gave him.

Episode 17 - The House of the Waiting Family

We see a sign that reads: Auto Mail Rockbell Then, we see Pinako Rockbell standing on the porch of her house, a black and white dog with an Auto-mail left leg laying down next to her. Pinako is staring at the clouds. A little bit down the road, Ed, Al, and Armstrong walk down the road (well, Al being carried, heh). Armstrong notes how peaceful Risembool (Ed and Al's hometown) is. Ed smiles and says it's just countryside with nothing special. Al, looking around, says that it's been four years since they last saw the place. Ed is surprised that it's been that long. Armstrong is surprised too, and asks if they really didn't come back there in all that time. Ed tells him that even if they did return, they didn't have any family. Back at the house, the dog opens one of his eyes, and stands up, barking. Pinacko smiles, seeing who it is, and says that it's a rare guest. She calls upstairs to Winry. The dog runs to Ed and barks at him (in a friendly way), and we learn his name is Den. Ed then turns to Pinako, and asks if she can take care of them for a little while again. She laughs, and comments on how he's come back again with one arm (meaning, the last time he came over was when he first lost his arm, so many years ago). Ed chuckles at that. And then she says that he's still so small, comparing his height with Armstrong's. He begins to insult Pinako, calling her a hag, and she retorts with an insult of even smaller proportion, and back, and forth. Armstrong steps in and tells him that he shouldn't insult Pinako (and he also takes off his shirt...). Pinacko is kind of bewildered by Armstrong, and asks about him (and also says their insults are jokes). Armstrong introduces himself, and they shake hands. As this happens, a wrench comes flying out of nowhere and smashes Ed in the head, knocking him to the ground. Winry is standing on the second floor porch, looking annoyed. She's angry at him coming back in the state he's in. Now inside, Pinako and Winry get a chance to see the damage done to the brothers. Winry gasps. She can't believe the special, custom-made Auto-mail limb they made for Ed got obliterated. Ed apologizes. Winry then looks at Al and notes his damage, asking what were they up to. Meanwhile, Pinako is looking at Ed's legs. She notices that he's grown a little. So, they'll have to adjust his left leg and make him a whole new arm. Ed asks if they can do it in a week. Pinako takes a puff on her pipe, and tells him not to underestimate them. Three days. Al is happy, they want to get back to Central ASAP to look for something. Winry looks at him with a frown and whips out her wrench, telling him it better not be something dangerous. Ed tells her it isn't. Winry looks at him and sighs, and then walks off, muttering that they only cause trouble. Al notes that, despite her complaining, she puts a lot of effort into her work. Outside now, Ed steps onto the grass with a different left leg, this one white and plastic looking. He notes that Pinako's limbs are really good. Al looks around and sees that their town hasn't changed at all. Back inside, Winry and Pinako are preparing materials while Armstrong leans against the doorframe, looking outside. Pinako asks him about how the brothers are doing. They don't get any calls from them, and no letters. Armstrong tells them that the brothers, especially Ed, are rather famous in Central. Though, that causes them some problems, too. But they're ok, they're strong. Pinako smiles at that, and remembers that night long ago, when they tried to bring back their mother. Al, now in his armor body, holding a bloodied and injured Ed, asking her to help. And then to Ed getting his limbs attached. Back outside, Ed sighs and says he wants to get back to Central and continue on the trail for the Philosopher's Stone. Al tells him to relax for now, he won't once they get back. Ed says he can't, wiggling on the ground with Den doing the same next to him. Al then tells him to visit their mother's grave. Also outside, Armstrong chops firewood (ok, punches it, heh). He tells Pinako what he's doing, and she thanks him, but tells him that he can rest too. But Armstrong has to keep training, since he's a soldier. He then asks where Ed has gone to, and she tells him that he's visiting his mother's grave. Armstrong worries about him, but she tells him that he has a great guard with him. We see Ed walking down the road, holding some flowers, with Den by his side. They see two people working in a field, who call out to him, surprised to see him. They talk a bit, and they both remark on his height again. Back at the house, Al stares a young girl leading a cow. Winry approaches him with a box of stuff and calls to him. Al seems a little dazed and mentions the girl. Winry sees her and tells Al that it's Nelly, a girl they used to play with all the time when they were younger. Nelly waves at Winry, who does the same. Al couldn't remember her face, though. He seems a little worried. Winry says that that's ok, it's been a long while, and she's changed quite a bit. At the cemetary, Ed and Den stand in the setting sun-light, the flowers placed on Trisha's grave. Ed flashes back to the day she was buried, the day that he and Al started down this road. Den whines a little, and Ed is shaken out of his memories. He smiles at the dog and tells him that it's time to head home. That night, at the house, Winry is measuring Ed's right leg when she sees the silver chain at his hip (the chain for the silver watch). She asks if it is truly the watch, and Ed tells her it is. It helps amplify alchemy a little bit. But as he says this, Winry, with stars in her eyes, snatches it from his hand. She goes on to say what a great piece of work it is, and asks if it works by winding, or if it's automatic, and Ed tells her it's automatic, but he never uses it. Winry asks to look at it, but Ed tells her no, she'll just take it apart. She asks again, and promises that she'll put it back together like normal if he lets her. Ed tells her no again and to ask someone else. She looks back at Armstrong, who is rather shaken up, and mutters that he'll chop a year's worth of wood now. Winry glowers at him, calling them cheapskates. Upstairs in their room, Al sits on the bed, watching the stars. Ed enters the room and tells him the good news, that Pinako can reattach his limbs tomorrow, and then he can fix Al. Al is glad to hear it, though he sounds rather distant. Ed looks at him a bit worried. Al asks Ed if he had friends. Ed is a little surprised at the question. Al tells Ed that his memory is fuzzy, he can't remember the faces of their friends. Ed tells him that you get more memories as time passes, so logically your past memories would fade a bit. Al doesn't sound very convinced. Armstrong is looking in, too. Ed is quiet for a moment, and then tells Al that there's been something he wanted to ask him for a while now, but he's been too afraid to ask. However, Ed still can't bring himself to ask it. Before Al can push Ed to talk about it, Armstrong bursts in, breaking the door in the process. He tells them to look at the night sky, and how beautiful it is, and how they can see it so well, it's unlike the city. Ed and Al look, and Ed smiles, remembering how they used to stare at the night's sky when they were younger. The next day, Pinako and Winry prepare Ed to reattach his limbs. He complains about how he hates it when the nerves reconnect. He can't wait until he restores his body, and he can say goodbye to those limbs. Pinako tells him that it'll be a shame to lose a big money-spender like him. Winry tells him that he doesn't have to restore his body, and goes on to talk about Auto-mail (the smell of oil, the creak of gears, etc). Ed calls her a machine freak and she calls him an Alchemy freak, hitting him on the head, too. Finally, they reconnect Ed's limbs, and a good number of sparks can be seen. Ed grimaces in pain. Pinako tells Armstrong to get Al off the couch so they can put Ed there. At the table, Armstrong is surprised by how much pain the limbs cause when they reconnect. Pinako tells him that it's enough to cause a soldier to cry out in pain. Ed is on the couch, in pain, and Winry sits down next to him, asking how he's feeling. She tells him the changes they've made to his new limbs. The weight of the steel is 80% lighter, because they didn't want it affecting his growth. Ed tells her not to talk about his height when he's in pain. Winry knows that if he can talk like that, he's fine. Ed gets off the couch. Winry asks how the limbs feel, and Ed tells her they feel fine. Since the limbs are lighter, they aren't as durable, so he needs to be careful. He can replace Auto-mail, he can't replace life. Winry then sighs and says that it's been a while since she had to pull an all-nighter, and Ed thanks her. She smiles and tells him that they'll charge him extra for this. Outside, Al is sitting by some barrels. Ed calls to him and says he's as good as new, and ready to repair him. Al now sits on a few blankets, which also has a lot of metal shards, all pieces of Al's armor. Mustang and his men picked them up. Armstrong looks at Al and asks if he can really fix him. Ed can, but there's one little trick. Removing his helmet, Ed shows a transmutation circle on the inside of Al's "neck." (check out alchemy page). It mediates between the armor and Al's soul. Armstrong says it looks like blood, which it is. Ed's blood. Had Scar struck a little closer, Al would be in trouble. Ed claps his hands together and touches Al. The circle glows, and then Al floats a bit, the metal shards combining back with him to form his arm and leg once more. Al stands, back to normal (except for his loincloth, heh). They're prepared to do the usual. Armstrong asks what that is. Ed and Al hold mock battles, sparring with one another. Their teacher told them that to train the mind, they must first train the body. Ed's never won against Al once. Armstrong wants to help, but they won't let him. They start, throwing punches, blocking, and flipping. Armstrong watches. Winry glances through the door and tells him to be careful with the Auto-mail. She sighs and walks back inside. There, she sees Ed's pants with the watch. She realizes that Ed's not there to stop her, and prepares to open it, with a sly grin. Back outside, Ed tries his best, but Al grabs his leg and flings him into the air. Armstrong then joins in, tackling Al. Ed and Al team up against Armstrong. Back inside, having opened the watch, Winry stares in shock. Carved inside the watch are the words: Don't Forget 3.Oct.10 Ed and Al charge Armstrong again. Al locks hands with him and Ed slide-tackles him. Al flings Armstrong in the air. Armstrong lands, leaving a large crater, and chuckles as Ed and Al laugh and celebrate. Out back, Ed is taking a shower (with shorts on, mind you, heh) when Winry approaches, him, looking guilty. She shows him the watch and apologizes. Ed is angry, and tells her he hasn't even shown it to Al. She apologizes again. He thinks it's unmanly of him to carry something to show how determined he is. He has to remember that they have no more family and no place to return to. Winry begins to cry and asks him why. He does have a home! They have Pinako and Winry. Ed wonders why she has to cry. She says she's crying because they won't. Later that evening, as the sun sets once more, Winry looks out the window and asks Pinako about where Ed and Al are. She tells Winry that they'll be back soon, they just have to wait like they always do. Ed, Al, and Armstrong are standing at the burnt ruins of the Elric Brothers' old home. Al walks a bit, remembering that they used to put firewood there, and that Ed always found excuses to not do that chore. We see a little flashback to them as kids, Ed sticking his tongue out, and running, laughing. And how, when it was time to come back, their mother would flash a bright lamp from the second story window. They could see it anywhere, and they'd run back when they saw it. Armstrong tells them that they do have a home. A home where a warm family awaits them. They walk back to the house, and as they walk up the road, they see a lamp, blinking in a familiar way. Winry is sitting on the second story porch, with the lamp, blinking it, waiting for the brothers to return. The next day, they all stand out front, ready to leave. Pinako, Den, and Winry are with them, saying their goodbyes. Winry smiles and tells them to have a nice trip. As the brothers and Armstrong leave, Winry watches them, and speaks to Pinako. She saw inside Ed's watch...the date carved into it was the day they burnt their house and left.
