[QUOTE="Blackbond"] [QUOTE="Arkthemaniac"]Microsoft seems like the first example of "corporate gaming." Sony wasn't nearly and still isn't nearly as questionable with their actions as Microsoft.Arkthemaniac
Were you around during the NES era?
The reason why I think Microsoft is moreso "corporate gaming" than anyone else I've ever seen is because they don't really have a single development team. They buy games from developers to be exclusive. In this way, they don't create anything other than the console. A console developer should make games as well. SCEA made Ratchet and Clank, Killzone, and others. They have development teams. Microsoft doesn't, and that upsets the gaming world. If the person with the most money wins solely because he can buy out the creativity, the creativity becomes soulless, and gaming falls into the same rut that haunts every other medium today. It's actually already happening.
I wasn't around during the NES era, so if you're talking about Nintendo, at least they didn't absorb every competitor.
looks like im not alone
