I think the last game I purchased at release was Uncharted 4...I can wait. I'd rather play on PC if given the option.

So tired of the industry trying to coax people onto Their Platform or Their Storefront via Timed-Exclusive Deals.

Replacement remotes are roughly $10, skip Starbucks for a day.

I didn't bother with The Division 2 in part because of the large, forced DLC Expansion Patches in The Division.

I was never going to buy the DLC, so to have to download 9GB of locked DLC simply wasn't going to happen. With every DLC release, the update got larger and larger, so I put the game down.

@twogirlsonecub:

From your own Tom's link..."many of the issues appear to have been caused by people relying on outdated graphics drivers"

As I said...the drivers will auto update. Both AMD and nVidia will alert when a new driver update is available. This issue lies purely with the end-user "choosing" not update.

And no, I haven't needed to touch an .ini file in years. I have 4 active Gaming PCs with both AMD and nVidia GPU's. No issues with any of them running any games.

@twogirlsonecub:

2014 was a pretty bad year for broken PC games if I recall, but it was mainly Assassins Creed Unity which was the big talking point.

Halo: MCC launched with broken multiplayer, but that was a console exclusive.

The big takeaway with respect to broken games is simple...Do Not Pre-Order.

.ini file?...I personally haven't needed to touch one of those since UT2004.

Well performing, low-cost builds abound and most software will auto-update.

A very dated viewpoint indeed.

What exactly is the upside to the consumer to NOT include it?

@consolehaven:

Nice...I'll probably pick it up.

I also played through RotTR twice, once on XBO, again on PC. Uncharted 2 was also fantastic.

@njs72:

Fallen Order actually looks like a fun game.

I've been largely ignoring Star Wars games, especially since the whole Battlefront II Loot Crate slot machine.

I am a little puzzled as to why its on sale at Steam and Epic, but not EAs own storefront.
