Thanks. I hope the PSU is shot. That would save me a lot of trouble. What I'm really worried about is that my PSU is fine, but my processor needs more than 500W of power.RawDeal_basic

What PSU are you using? You might need a higher rated one for that video card.

When I turn off my computer, if I don't shut the power supply off as well, it will freeze when it starts back up at the "Windows XP" startup screen....EVERYTIME, no matter what. If I just flip the switch off, even for 5 seconds, then turn it back on, the computer will start up fine. Maybe there is an issue with my power supply. Could that be causing the framerate problems?RawDeal_basic

That's definately a PSU problem...get it checked out ASAP. It would also account for your card not running properly, not getting enough power.

[QUOTE="beatzfreak69"]No, the TC said the computer could "max" every game out except Crysis; and the game still being at a playable framerate...i seriously doubt it could even do that.Vandalvideo
And it looks like you forgot what his rig had in it. A 80 family series card, which CAN run HDR and AA at the same time. His rig CAN run everything maxed out.

And 8800GT at that. DIfference of opinions. I'll agree to disagree, on both topics.

[QUOTE="beatzfreak69"]So much for getting the most out of DX10 games. The 1950 is king of DX9.Vandalvideo
The 7950 is just an overclocked 7900 in practice. The 7900 is still a "high end DX9 card". Its a "high-end" rig.

I said 1950, not 7950. You're right, it's a high-end XP rig.

[QUOTE="beatzfreak69"]Yet this entire thread was about a 450 dollar PC that could supposedly do all of that...silly me.Vandalvideo
This thread was not about having a PC that could play Crysis with both HDR and AA. It was about a rig that could play all the games at relatively high settings, which these rigs can do.

Besides, long-lasting....high-end? Those are things those computer aren't.

Vandalvideo

Long lasting they are. High end? Like I give a crap about high end?

Just going by the TC's title... :)

Fine if you want to get technical, the 7900GS is one of the most high end DX9 cards.

So much for getting the most out of DX10 games. The 1950 is king of DX9.

[QUOTE="beatzfreak69"]So now you don't need something because your rig can't do it? You're a real piece of work...Vandalvideo
I don't need something because I don't need it. Without both of them at the same time I'm still getting graphics far superior to anything consoles can even provide and im running the game at medium-high settings at a constant 35FPS. I think I'm doing swimmingly.

Yet this entire thread was about a 450 dollar PC that could supposedly do all of that...silly me.

[QUOTE="Vandalvideo"][QUOTE="beatzfreak69"]You're telling me one thing, my computer's telling me another...Vandalvideo

Then you're either lieing or ATI cards work different. Look around on the internet. Nvidia 60 and 70 family cards CAN NOT run HDR and AA at the same time.

That doesn't point to you needing a new video card?

Absolutely not, because I do not need HDR and AA at the same time.

So now you don't need something because your rig can't do it? You're a real piece of work...
