[QUOTE="Vandalvideo"][QUOTE="beatzfreak69"]I'm not going to spend all day pricing other people's computers on the net. Why don't you do it? I've made my case...samiup

And which case would that be, the whole 1K rig? Oh by the way, the same case I already disproveD?

The one with the outdated CPU and last gen GPU?

Actually, my 7900GS is on par with and more powerful than consoles, and my Pentium D 945 is on par with an E6800. If you don't know what yo're talking about, stay out of the game.

That's the thing, we're not talking about your video card compared to console GPUs; we're talking about your video card compared to today's "PC" games. So yes, it is last gen...and outdated. As for staying out of the game, practice what you preach man. ;)

if his PC is outdated compared to todays PCs, then all consoles are WAY too outdated comparing to todays PCs

That's where the whole consoles will be able to play any game that comes out for them argument comes into play. ;)

Is that why my GPU and CPU can run the most technologically advanced game currently on the market at medium-high settings at a constant 35 FPS? That makes it current gen.

Too bad you can't run it on high without toning down effects and not having AA, I can tell you from personal experience that it looks much better that way.

[QUOTE="Vandalvideo"][QUOTE="beatzfreak69"]The 865 didn't include shipping. Once you figure that in it's 899.Vandalvideo

And again, if you know where to shop, like pricewatch, you don't have to pay shipping.

And again, "he" told me to use newegg to look up the price of "his" PC...keep up.

Then use pricewatch, which is both astronomically cheaper and has no shipping fees for the most part. www.pricewatch.com

I'm not going to spend all day pricing other people's computers on the net. Why don't you do it? I've made my case...

[QUOTE="beatzfreak69"]I whole-heartedly agree. Plus, that PC only scrapes by today, much less 6 months to a year from now.

Not mine. I'll be happy with my computer 2 years from now. Unlike the few pc gamers who need to upgrade constanly, I'm perfectly fine with my rig being graphically superior then consoles for 2 years.

Using the components of your PC plus what i listed that it needed to be complete comes out to 865 after savings. Not bad! Like I said, I wasn't talking badly about your computer, and it's definatly not a 446 dollar one. :)

You are really trying to make me search up my own parts to prove to you that I payed $600?

Alright, I'll tell you how i got to that number. I used all of your listed specs but i bumped the 3850 up to a 3870 for only 179. Coolermaster elite 330 for $35. OCZ gamestream 600watt PSU for $109. Logitech classic keyboard for $13. Logitech G3 for $44. Lite-On combo drive for $25. Vista home premium for system builders for $100.

[QUOTE="MrGrimFandango"]That processor holds that video card back, terrible PC, terrible motherboard. That cheap piece of crap will die in a few months. That is also still about $880 American...gatorteen

As I said earlier, I really don't understand why PC guys have a problem with admitting that PC gaming may cost a bit more..the games are cheaper and the hardware more advanced. I don't have a problem spending more money on one.On a lot of these rigs that I see posted in these types of threads, I wouldn't buy half the parts that are shown..I'd rather spend the extra money upfront.

I'd say it's $1000 for a good one. Honestly though we are trying to break the myth that it's 1500 to 2000 dollars for a good one. The way I see these console guys talking about PCs I see why geek squad and others make so much money. I should open a business like that. Fact it isn't that much more expensive 1000 is giving you the full expierence. For a console you need a HDTV for that. Also there are quite a few things to consider. Console perphirals as well as paying for online in some cases, paying for DLC, more expensive games also all come into play. That shoots the cost of a console by quite a bit I must say, even though they stuff isn't mandatory you don't get the full expierence without it.

Yeah, I understand, and spending anything over a grand for a system that you are building from scratch is going to be a monster. My point is, I'd rather advocate a good PC instead of one that just barely scrapes by just to prove a point, yknow? But that's just me. I'm going to be building a new rig soon and it's going to be kickass and I could give a damn what console fanboys think about it. 8)

I wasn't referring to your computer, i was referring to the TC's suggested computer. I'm looking up the price for yours now.
