This statement from Sid Meier, "we have no intention of turning our backs on it," could mean just about anything. It could mean what we Wii fans have all been hoping for, that they will still make and release a Wii version of Civilization Revolution. Or maybe it means that the Wii CivRev has been canned and that they're working on something else? They're "still in the process of making decisions," which doesn't sound too encouraging, IMO.
In fact, I actually made a small rant on CivRev on this site's forum for the DS version. It sums up my thoughts quite nicely.
Hey I heard a rumor that NHL 09 is coming out for the Wii. How do you think it will be? Will it be a poor effort since its the first Hockey game for Wii like how BIGS was bad for a first baseball game?OrtizFielder
FYI, The Bigs was actually good.
Another FYI, the Wii already has a hockey game, the craptastic Kidz Sports Ice hockey. You can see a video review of it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9fYHzmPbQWg
Anyway, if a developer could do a Wii hockey game right, they would earn a huge following. They could do it like Pro Evolution Soccer 2008, with you plotting your players' progress by pointing at the screen, or they could do it like Mario Strikers Charged.
