[QUOTE="truesKill87"][QUOTE="wiialltheway"][QUOTE="rifton"]Why is VF5 a dissapointment? That is a lot of sales considering how few PS3 have sold.wiialltheway
PS3 does have an installed base of more than 600,000 in Japan, it just doesn't look good for a game like VF5 to only sell around 50,000. Also, VF5 almost had no impact on PS3 sales, seriously, Sony and retailers in Japan must be disappointed.
wait how? Thats a 10% attach rate. 10% of PS3's owners in Japan own VF5 now. If 5 Million PS3's were out it would be 400,000-500,000 VF5s sold. VF5 sold well so early in PS3's console life for first weekI don't know where you got this kind of impression from, but most people expected VF5 to sell more than 50,000, when it failed to do so, it's disappointing. Maybe you personally expected VF5 to bomb in sales? Then that's another case, because I know most Sony fans expected better.
VF4 sold half million in Japan, and how many PS2 sold in Japan? You can't simply tell me if 5 million PS3 were sold, VF5 would sell half million, doesn't work like that.
The real disappointment is that people expected VF5 to sell more, but it didn't, simple as that.
Wii Sports sold around a million, but Wii is only around 1.6 million in Japan at the moment. You see how high the attach ratio is for a game like Wii Sports? VF5 doesn't have any legitimate excuse to only sell 50,000 copies during first week, because it's not going to get any higher than that next week either, only lower.
yes it does ..if more people own the ps3 vf5 will have a better chance to sell better..its not like everybody expected one fighting game to increase the ps3 sales a lot..just because the sales for vf5 is disspointing doesnt mean its a bad game..it sold 48,500 in its first week..and sales increased for the ps3 not a lot but its better then nothing..if you want to talk about disapointment look at the 360 sales 4k thats really really low..by the next 3 weeks it be 1k..lol...
