@ravenkiller You can't blame the consumers for this.

Something is very strange here.

You can't expect your first game, that is a new IP, to sell 3 million copies. You can hope, but you can't expect.

And you can't spend so much money on the project that you have to sell 3 million just to break even.

I feel sorry for the staff, but the morons running this charade...

@PodXCOM You're the baka, because you don't seem to know a single thing about game design.

I used to love the japanese Mario and Zelda mangas from the early 90s.

In terms of sales, this is an easy one: Ghost Recon. As of may 12th, the preorders for Ghost Recon are about 480k, almost 5 times that of Dragon's Dogma (about 100k). http://www.vgchartz.com/article/250143/usa-preorders-chart-12-may-2012-diablo-iii/

Personally I'm more interested in Dragon's Dogma. The demo was ok, but I'm not convinced yet. It will be interesting to see the reviews for it.

I read about this over at Gamasutra, and I was truly disgusted about what I rea, because the quotes and information revealed there paints an even uglier picture of the situation.

According to Thomas Fenady, Bobby Kotek wanted Fenady to "dig up dirt on Jason and Vince" because “we're sick of dealing with those guys, their ego... we just want to get rid of them." These orders allegedly came from George Rose, as mentioned here in this article as well. He also wanted Fenady to tap into their computers, and Rose stated "Bobby [Kotick] will take care of you. This comes from Bobby directly... Don't worry about the repercussions."

@TruthTellers You've got a point. However, they usually don't speculate about the time frame when talking about life time sales.

@oskuuu Those numbers for Battlefield 3, are for the X360 version alone. Add PS3 and PC sales, and the total adds up to almost 13 million.

Twilight Princess has actually sold more than 8 million on Gamecube and Wii.
