Because points are'nt deducted, you've got the IGN system wrong. The score of a game is made from the sum of all of it's parts. It's not a checklist, for example Mass Effect had horrible technical problems yet it got 8-9's, shhowing that overall the game was very good. Read the review man.

As for extremism you will find that in every country. You act as if the government is starting these attacks which they are not.
