@pongley: Interesting. I thought they were going for the opposite type of swordplay. Something that feels weighty.
Regardless, I'll be waiting for reviews before buying.

Glad to see this game is still on its way. Hope it doesn't fall flat on its face!

I love this game. But I didn't love it at launch. I believe I have 12 mods running now. Most provide minimal, convenience changes, but some have major effects.

For one, I eliminated the timers. Too many missions had timers for my liking, so I preferred to remove them entirely and instead up the difficulty and play on Ironman mode (which is the only way to play IMO).

I also boosted the max squadsize to 8, which allows me to bring every type of unit to the field that I want.

With all the changes, the game is damn fun and addicting. But has problems....

I still think the hit/miss ratio is way out to lunch. A shotgun blast from two tiles away should never miss, even for a rookie recruit, and even if the enemy's dodge stat is high. Plus, I believe the stats are sometimes misleading.

I also don't like the "Reduced Will" mechanic where your soldier will permanently have reduced Will unless they survive a mission with full health and kill an enemy. In later stages where your enemies can do large AOE attacks, you basically have to hang your guy back in safety in order to overcome his will penalty.

Mission variety is lacking. My favourite missions have you defending against large groups of enemies attempting to board the Avenger. But those missions happen rarely, and only if you don't prevent them first. It's too bad the "Protect the Device" missions don't start with you located at the device. Inevitably your enemies always reach the device first and get several free shots at it. That's total BS. I'd prefer a horde-mode type of mission.

Definitely worth picking up, but with several annoying flaws.

Yep, still going to be crap! lol

Sounds like someone in the movie adapted Jumanji to be a video game and the cast are the in-game characters possibly brought into the real world.

A person's personal beliefs/actions should have no bearing on their professional lives, unless it affects their professional lives.

He's free to support any group he chooses. Seems to me these anti-anti-Hillary supporters are simply supporters of anti-freedom of expression.

I'd prefer Clinton over Trump, yet I have no problem with this guy. I'm not homophobic, but I'd still go to a Chick-Fil-A if I actually liked their food.

The devs who are dropping their Oculus support are simply idiots who are involving politics where they don't belong.

@CyberEarth: LOL I wasn't actually complaining, just pointing out that other people were going to be up in arms about it. Which, judging by the Rock's response, is exactly what happened!

I bet you're right though, I'm sure the Rock will find a way to be shirtless. Probably in a scene with Gillan totally objectifying him. ;)

Looks like crap, tbh. But who knows what'll happen.

Also can't wait to hear all the people griping about the sexualization of one of the characters. Hint, she has boobs.

@Xristophoros: No argument there. They seem to make a habit of shooting themselves in the foot.

I'm just commenting on the compelling power of jumping on the bandwagon and not taking media coverage with a grain of salt.

Well, a lot of those dislikes are just people jumping on the bandwagon. Kojima has been built up as some kind of hero who can do no wrong, and Konami is an entity that supposedly wronged him. Truth is, most of the public is largely unaware about what transpired.

That said, Konami absolutely shot themselves in the foot by making a zombie game with the Metal Gear assets slapped on it. That was pretty much the worst thing they could do. Why couldn't they have made a co-op game set in the MGSV:PP world? That would have allowed the Kojima dust to settle before making MGS6, but still do justice to the franchise and the fanbase. It would have been a tough road to travel, but at least that road doesn't drive off a canyon into a valley of zombies.
