I would've honestly preferred more of the same in the form of a Guacamelee sequel. Maybe it's because I don't have a proper grasp of the intricacies of this game but I'm not very interested in it, mostly due to the first-person view and all the screen swiping. I'll get it on sale, sure, but only because of Drinkbox's pedigree and because for my taste, there's very few options on the Vita.
@pondrthis He was created in a lab and groomed to do the bidding of the "parasites" (he never fit in due to his upbringing and superhuman abilities so it was conceivable for him to make this transition in perspective) who used his origin/"mother" in an effort to create more like him and use them as puppets. His father figure is a sociopath and a mad scientist who will go to any lengths (e.g. mass murder) to further his understanding of science. That gives him a pass on the popular emo branding.
I think I would enjoy these games despite the cast (Japanese teenagers, the only reason I've avoided Persona) but I think they're too expensive for this genre. I've waited for the first game to go on sale but the price has never been close to acceptable. Maybe I've been spoiled by the prices of PC games.
This was great, especially that ending! I for one have yet to understand why a game running at 60fps or even MORE still doesn't look as smooth as 60fps should (as compared to a video). I've heard people offer unconvincing arguments of "variable framerates" when I had 10-year-old games never dipping below 100fps on the likes of a 580 gtx or a 7970 on a 120hz monitor and STILL didn't look that smooth (i.e. as a video @60fps).
I've finished both games twice (last time on the PSP) but were this ported to the Vita... hell, why not? I've got nothing to play on it at the moment or the near future. Just Add Water seem pretty good at listening to feedback so they'll most likely fix the control issues. Stewart Gilray used to respond to a lot of folks in the Steam forums back when Stranger's Wrath was released on PC and I've also seen him in other sites. I like Oddworld but for a while there was talk (rumors?) of them possibly remaking Metal Gear Solid and THAT I would love to see.
If you're remotely interested in the history of Oddworld Inhabitants and their games, search for "icons g4tv oddworld" on youtube. Great show!
I've played the Ark of Napishtim, The Oath in Felghana and Seven and oh boy... Sure, they were decent the first 3-5 hours but once you settle in, it doesn't get any more generic and mindless than these games. The bosses were a highlight but the tedium of normal battles was too much. Is there really such a thing as an Ys fan?! I really need my Terranigma and Vagrant Story sequels...
