Oh yeah, but if you are planning on getting a PS3 (which I highly reccomend) you should get the 80 gb

the 40 gb has a lot of downgraded features, also you should wait until the 120/160 gb PS3's come out this spring, they come with Dualshock 3 controllers and PSHome

the framerate only slows when somthing important happens ..think of it as a slow motion scene in an actoin movie :lol:The_Tombo

A good way to look at it! lol

For the last time :

PS3 doesn't have framerate problems. Games are the ones with framerate problems.

And it will only get better with time. Remember, the PS3 is only a little over a year old and developers are still working out their kinks...

There was an article a long time ago that said the 7200 rpm HDD didn't make much of a difference at all they said that it was more about the cache. I think it was on IGN.burner0921

I heard about that too, I'll make sure it has 32mb or at least 16mb

Ok,well im going to sell my 360 for a ps3 soon and i was wondering.would a new 20 gb model for $440 be better or a new 60 gb model for $620 be better?b/c is very important to me and i want to spend as little money as possible.thanks

kalzam42

Either way I would get a warranty with that sucka! Depends on if you want memory slots and Wi-Fi. The HDD space should not be a factor, they are cheap upgrades in comparison.

I think I want it a little earlier.....canesfan8193

I was looking at ebay for 60GB and 80GB but they would go too high for a used system so I check out overstock.com auction and I got a used 60GB from Best Buy Outlet for $290. Should be getting it in the mail today!!! I will buy a 2 year warranty from Squaretrade.com on that biznatch and I will be straight!!

I think the cooling is a great upgrade for your PS3. I am looking into getting one for my PS3/ Sup Comp and if you are still considering it...go to Koolance.com....they have what you need. A couple good reasons for getting the watercooler are, keeps ps3 running alot cooler under the hood there by increasing performance, makes your PS3 "dead quiet", (even though its already about 50 times more quiet then the Box 360) it makes it more quiet b/c it lets your PS3 turn down the fans to about nothing b/c it doesnt need them to cool the CPU/GPU. READ IMPORTANT: IF YOU WANT TO GET THE MOST OUT OF YOUR PS3 YOU NEED: WATERCOOLER, 7200rpm HDD, HDMI CORD, FULL HD 1080P TV....bam there you go...install linux and u got a SUP COMP.

I might get a cooling system for my PS3. Thanks for the advice about the HDD, when I upgrade my HDD I'll keep the 7200 RPM in mind...
