PC gamers on this board always criticise console gamers about buying DLC that they think should be free but just look at this.Jamex1987

Good job man, take those PC gamers down a peg! You've proven that some of them are as stupid as console gamers from !) buying MW2 and 2) spending money on a map pack. Their egos certainly won't be able to take this kind of punishment.

Keep fighting the good fight!

Achievements are among the most pointless additions to video games over the past couple of years. The only reason I can see people wasting time with trying to unlock them is if they suffer from some sort of OCD or because they feel a sense of pride when they get an electronic pat on the back.

If achievements had some sort of value or purpose other than the "LOOK WHAT I DID!" factor I could see the point but they don't. Frankly, I don't care enough about trivial accomplishments to sit around and try to score 50 headshots in a row or complete some other asinine tasks.

This guy is funny.

He is somewhere in his mid-30s and appears to be successful in his job and family life, yet he comes onto this website and shows off his car or TV setup. For what reasons someone would do this is anybody's guess. Perhaps the answer would be that it all stems from some kind of insecurity...why would you feel the need to claim your modified BMW is faster than an 18 year old's hand me down Cavalier or that your 50in television is better than a cheap 20in LCD. Or perhaps there is a deeper, more complex, problem.

Because I'm interested: I'm not denying you own your car but please tell me you take your car to the track ever now and then and put it through it's paces.

anybody know whats the optimal requirements for the pc?slvrraven9

Minimum: 1.7 GHz Processor, 512MB RAM, DirectX® 8.1 level Graphics Card (Requires support for SSE), Windows® Vista/XP/2000, Mouse, Keyboard, Internet Connection

Recommended: Pentium 4 processor (3.0GHz, or better), 1GB RAM, DirectX® 9 level Graphics Card, Windows® Vista/XP/2000, Mouse, Keyboard, Internet Connection

Worth getting the game on the PC. There are a number of really good fan made Portal maps. Portal: Prelude comes to mind.

It's cute the number of people using the "analog sticks take more skill" argument to get a one up over PC gamers. Are your lives are so dull and devoid of achievement that being better at a video game than another individual is something to pride yourself in? Get a nice little pat on the back there?

[QUOTE="biggest_loser"]Never heard of it. UT_Wrestler
If you are older than 12, then you, sir, need to turn in your gaming license immediately!

Psst, its called sarcasm.

To answer the TC's question: For God's sake. yes.

It mostly affects the dialog between you and Paul as well as some other NPCs. I don't recall that, for example, shooting everyone on Liberty Island caused you to get a bonus reduction or something of that nature. (Edit: The post below refreshes my memory: your play style will affect what items you get issued by Sam Carter) After you play through the game it might put some of those deaths into perspective. The main benefit for the stealthy, non lethal attacks is the added challenge or trying to confine yourself to a style of play.

"...we decided to emulate the first game more; as mentioned, we no longer have unified ammunition and we are returning to an inventory system reminiscent of the first game. We also wanted to ensure that our levels are larger and more open than in Invisible War (i.e. Hong Kong in Deus Ex 1)."

Ok, now they have my attention. That Q&A leads me to believe the game may have some promise. I'll be keeping a closer eye on this one.

Could you give an example of what looks so ugly? Maybe post a screenshot or something other than a vague "the game is ugly" comment? When I played it I noticed some NPC clothing and environment textures didn't look so hot but on the whole the game was pretty good looking.
