overclocking when you "don't know what you're doing" is like skydiving without knowing what it is.
look up guides first.
basicly:
your CPU has a multiplier
your motherboard has a FSB(or front side bus) speed
the two multiplied together = your CPU speed
usually the CPU is locked, so you can't change the multiplier (most of the time)
what you change is the motherboard's FSB
everything effects how well you can overclock it from RAM speeds to cooling enviornments.
don't do it, till you can say you know what you're doing.
