i posted my current specs, amd and nvidia, but when i get a new dx10 card around october it will just depend on whats doin the best

if at all possible, you might underclock it. but manufactured computers are built tobe stable atthespeed they were soldat. somost of themyou cant change clock speeds on. you could keep itcool while you're using it.

i don't think dx11 even has anything toimprove from as they've hardlyeven seen dx10 preformance. maybe they are just developing some ideas, a skeleton if you will, for when dx11 IS announced. 9 was out for quite a while, i don't think theyd be so quick to make 11 yet.

if you're not doing anything higher than 2.1 you can probably settle for onboard. otherwise im sure you can find some cheap little 5.1/7.1 card for like $20 or less

get vista home premium, and if you're dying for 64 bit, you can order a 64bit disk from a link and a code that comes with the retail upgrade. ultimate is just standart 64bit and comes with a bunch of stuff that you would only want if you owned a company.

im pretty sure the cpu fan should never stop. maybe it would be programmed to slow down, but never stop.

ill also mention, youre getting a sound card that can't be taken full advantage of by vista. new sound cards havn't come out yet as far as i know. but yeah. thats a pretty expensive piece of silicon your paying for
