but so far the ONLY reason for getting the 8600 and not a top of the line dx9 is for its dx10 capabilities. i hav a 7600gts and im waiting to see what happens with the new ati cards before i upgrade.
personally i would never buy a top of the line laptop because everyone knows computers become "dated" quickly, and if you are going to want a top of the line system your going to want to keep it updated with top of the line equipment, which can't be done with a laptop.
if and when i get a laptop i wouldn't spend more than like 1200, and it would be something that would last me a while, not just preform well.
id still wait to see what ati has in store. the 8800s will still be here if it turns out they suck too, but from all we've heard, they shouldnt be as much of a dissapointment.
after you beat that goblin guy on the bridge in TP and link and epona rare back infront of the twilight. i took a picture of it with my phone when my friend was playing. its definately my background.
