Dota esports takes skill. CoD is just a dying game. The pros have even discussed that they don't like cod but only play it for the money.

Matthew Bailey "CyborgMatt" is basically the person that helped dota build a prosperous community.

MOBA's the genre played by millions. But somehow hated by regular gaming communities.

The nostalgia. BC2 had this immersive multiplayer that kept making you want to play more. BF4 its just so linear that you wouldn't care if you stopped after one round.
