@thelostscribe: "if they could came together to co-operate, that'd be a massive stretch."
I heard Neil in an interview saying that he didn't want the justification of a bigger threat to make "peace" between the two characters. But a deeper exploration of their own demons.
That already happened. What I was saying was not a "kumbaya" relationship... I'm talking about cooperation to achieve a bigger purpose. They certainly don't have to like each other...
"That isn't something I think could ever be rationalized for them to get along or work together."
A cure... Abbie father dream, Elie's desire destination...
But either way, I would be fine with no more TLOU sequels... People who hate this game donĀ“t deserve it, and people who love know that a sequel will not have the same narrative freedom.
@thelostscribe: "If they think Ellie is done and redeemed, they can always follow Abby."
I think the path for Ellie's redemption has begun, but not yet achieved...A possible sequel is impossible to predict, but I would love to see a path to a cure with ellie as the main character and Abby as her bodyguard...
@thelostscribe: "but there is almost nothing hopeful about the game."
Another thing I love about this game. The path of destruction is so easy to follow, and the results are immediate. The path of redemption and hope, it's a constant fight in a tortuous road... I takes way more time to be achieved...
@fishnpeas1: "Anyone who hasn't had a full frontal lobotomy gets it within the first two hours of the game..."
Funny you say that... Because the game truly unfolds the power of some themes in the end of the game. You can only appreciate those themes once you reach the end...
"I get it you enjoyed it, it's the Ladybirds book version of "My first revenge tale""
Why do you keep talking about revenge? You still think this game is just about revenge? Did you stopped after Joel death scene?
"rest of us who have actually had some experience with life over the last 40 years sees it for what it actually is."
Your experience is shorter than mine, not that it matters... The main point is, "the rest of us" are not as much as you think, and certainly not as clever as you may think...
"Enjoy your game..."
ThatsĀ“a certainty...
"I'm off to get some satisfying revenge with a good streak of moral code thrown in there for good measure on Ghosts of Tsushima"
Clever thing you said so far... Good games, man... Enjoy it, looks stunning, I will play it too, just not yet...
@k41m: Both are redeemable, and both achieve that redemption. Abby in the theater fight and in her relation with Lev, Ellie in her choice of forgiveness of herself and letting Abby go saving Lev in the process...
To try to choose the bad or the good is a waste of time in a story like this...
