@7tizz: "you have no proof MP hurt the SP portion but even if it did, it's the fault of the developer - not additional modes."
Yup, it is ME. And the proof is on the game itself. At launch you would need the multiplayer to achieve all the goals. The multiplayer makes more money than single player (microtransactions and all that shi...), so the resourses are not all centered on the single campaign, so less quality.
But I agree in one point... at the end of the they the blame is always on the human side, not the number of modes. But lets not forget that the number of modes can change the human side part (the work, dedication, concentration).
"Being happy with less value is just dumb for any consumer to suggest."
Value is a debatable thing. More, sometimes means less. Quantity over quality or quality over quantity? Ok, we want it all... But that´s not what happens in the real world... At least, not with most companies...
@7tizz: "What a dumb comment. You have no proof MP hurts the SP component of any game."
ME3... I won...
"The Order 1886 had no MP component and yet it's a terrible SP game."
I didn't said that multiplayer is the "guilty one" for single player bad games. I said "the focus on multiplayer normally (slowly) kills the singleplayer part."
"Also, developers commission separate teams to work on SP and MP components of a title. Each having little input with the other."
Again... I´m not saying there should be no multiplayer, what I'm saying is that single player campaign must be the most important thing in single player games. Sadly, the focus on multiplayer is growing, as the lack of quality in some games as a direct result.
The true question is... It will be an AC game? Since ACIII I only played games with the AC logo... not AC games... I want a conclusion to the story of Desmond. Then we can go to this "every year game"...
@silv3rst0rm: Not everyone. The hype is too huge. GTA San Andreas was awesome... GTV have a superb gameplay but the story is the worse (at least for me) in all the serie.
@7tizz: "What's wrong with extra modes of play in a game?"
The answer I would love to give is "nothing". Sadly, reality proved that the focus on multiplayer normally (slowly) kills the singleplayer part. So to hell with multiplayer.
@mpl911: And that's the curious thing... I think that RDR is a better game (obviously different) than FC3, yet I played RDR once, on the other hand I have 3 complete playthroughs of FC3. Always having a lot of fun...
