I tried to get Lucina and Robin, but the only one I was able to get was Charizard at my local Meijer. Char is cool and my favorite pokemon, but I really wanted a Lucina. I sat last night trying to refresh the page and never seen Lucina or Robin up for sale once. According to others on this site they sold out in less than 30 seconds and most people never actually seen them for sale.

Nintendo themselves should start doing open pre-orders for like a week, ones who want them could place an order in the time bracket and then can make the specific amount to fill those orders and no limits. This way they can see how many they need to produce to fulfill the orders. And obviously 1 per character. They would win in every way. The fans can get the characters they want and even if the scalpers decide to order 20 each, that's just more money for nintendo, and because the fans were able to place an order they will get one too and the scalpers will get to sit on a bunch of Amiibo they paid for and not charge the stupid prices they want.

But sigh, Nintendo really just doesn't get it. And they need to realize the Fire Emblem and other series characters are more popular than Mario, Luigi, Peach, DK and Yoshi. Even if the sales say Mario sold 1 million and Marth only sold 300k, it's because they only produced 300k of marth and 2 million Marios. (Numbers pulled out of my butt for an example, these are not the actual numbers lol) But we do know Nintendo produces less of what they think are "unpopular characters".

EDIT* I wouldn't even mind paying 20 bucks per Amiibo for a custom order, as long as it's Nintendo getting the money and not scalpers

@ConanTheStoner said:
like what happened with Itagaki and Tecmo, fucking bastards.

This really upset me, while DOA5 turned out to be really good, Ninja Gaiden took a massive hit in quality. I still wish Itagaki were part of Tecmo, as he was their main guy just like Kojima is Konami's main guy. Tecmo lucked out as DOA5 turned out well as the team still seemes to know what do to, but Ninja Gaiden 3 and YZ or whatever its called, without Itagaki, they have shown they can't do a good Ninja Gaiden game.

What I would be worried about is if Konami continues to do MGS games after V. This could be the same situation that Tecmo is in, where their main franchise gets butchered.

But as for MGSV, we are very lucky that Kojima is leaving after this game gets finished, released and a couple months of post support. This rarely ever happens

While I will agree MGSV is a contender of GOTY, right now I'm inclined to give it to the Witcher 3. So far the game in fantastic and is how I wish the previous 2 Witchers played (they really should remake 1 with all the enhancements from 3). MGSV is looking awesome, I loved 4 and this is looking even better. Depending how Batman and MGSV pan out, we may have Bloodborne vs Witcher 3 vs Batman vs MGSV duking it out for GOTY. But if Bethesda were to drop a major bomb and actually release Fallout 4 this year (I highly doubt it but that studio has had to be doing something since the end of 2011), but lets say that happens, then my mind would be blown from having 5 really high quality titles in the same year. But until I actually play MGSV, right now W3 is GOTY. MGSV has strong competition this year. Compared to last year, this year is amazing. While I loved Dragon Age Inquisition, it mainly won GOTY on so many sites and places because it was actually a finished game and was pretty good to boot vs. a ton of other games good or not, but had major issues with performance or game breaking bugs. DA:I probably could have won GOTY just by the fact it was actually being finished with few bugs, even if it turned out to be a not so great game due to the competition completely dropping the ball.

Overall, this year has been much better than the last few years. It's looking very good for Batman and MGSV and if they turn out as good as they are looking then we will have several great titles to choose from for GOTY.

The reason it's not like that is when the device is up-scaling, it's using an algorithm to improve the picture with a scaler that was designed to do just that.. Pretty much all HDTV scalers are just to scale the picture to it's native resolution so it displays it properly and aren't there to improve the picture quality from lower sources.

What you will want though is a 4k Blu Ray Player that has good up-scaling for 1080p blu rays and DVD's. Unfortunately it will be up to your TV to upscale your PS4. As for movies though, Sony has mentioned in a future update that the PS4 should be able to play 4k movies, how good it will upscale regular blurays to 4k is unknown until that happens though.

The HDTV would handle the scaling of the image. 4k is 4 times the pixels of 1080p. It takes 4 pixels on the 4k to display 1 pixel of the 1080p image. because 3840 divided by 2 is 1920 and 2160 divided by 2 is 1080, the pixels are scaled evenly and are not being distorted. The image should probably be pretty close and if your sitting the proper distance back, your most likely not going to notice any scaling going on. The image won't be better than on a regular 1080p HDTV from scaling though as it's still just displaying a 1080p image.

What may look better though is if the 4k TV you get has better specs overall and a better quality panel than the old TV you have been using, then in that sense it would look better.

It's just the fighting style, MKX is one of the slower fighters, so it doesn't feel as fluid as something like DOA5, which is probably the smoothest fighter out there and pace of combat faster than others. They balance that though with defense though too so you can't just do an infinite combo unless your opponent really sucks at blocking and countering. I also remember blaze blue being pretty fast and smooth as well (haven't played that in years though, so my memory could be a bit foggy on it).

Try those two games if your looking for a fighter that's faster paced and flows really well. Personally I like pretty much all fighters but DOA5:LR is my favorite because of the speed and smooth flowing fighting. I know the EVO people scoff at it, their reasoning is that it can get to defensive compared to other fighters. But for fun, its a great fighter.

Those screens have very different geometry poly counts, overall shape, lighting in time of day and such. This is a old build vs. new build and not a PC vs. Console. Even the X360 version of the Witcher 2 looked better than the lowest settings on PC. (I own both). The devs have already stated that the PS4 version is equivalent to high settings @1080p. PC will have Ultra settings, but in the history of games, High and Ultra have never been that far apart. If you actually think these screens are console vs. PC, then I'm sorry to break it to you, but hey aren't'. The different geometry of the land is a dead giveaway on why this isn't the same scene of different platforms. The Low vs. High settings on the Witcher 2 didn't vary this much at all.

I will find out myself, as I have the CE PS4 version and the regular PC version on preorder. (As all preorders sold out very fast, I managed one for the PS4 and I want that Artbook and Statue).

This thread is a lie, as I highly doubt the differences will be that drastic.

Well, it depends. If all I had was a Xbox One then yes I would buy it. But since I have choices I'm not gonna get it on X1. Now why would someone get the game on X1 if they own a PS4 or PC... well, the only reason I can think of is that they like the ecosystem (achievements, chat and such) or the controller. Honestly I can't imagine anyone having a PC or PS4 choosing the X1 version over those.

One thing you have to remember, these guys on Twitter and such are producers, leads and such. Most employees are Coders and Artists creating the game. The people you see on the social media are the leads. So it's different. If you want to be in game development but avoid the social drama, don't be a lead. You never hear of many 3-D artists on social media, yet they create most of what you see. Same goes with the programmers and so forth. The Game Designers, Story Scriptwriters, Lead Artist and Lead Programmer are the ones who are more vocal on social media. The leads just keep the team in line and moving, overseeing the project and doesn't do much of the actual work on the game. Basically they are managers.

Also since I have never been on twitter, and I mostly see it as a death sentience for anyone in an actual position. One misstep and your done for.
