Shouldn't the person who destroyed most of the cube win the prize?

@Vuyolicious @bluefire1360 Well they're still going to show illumiroom at E3. Plus, these are entertainment consoles now (A continuation of the trend that was started on the PS3 and 360 in the first place) and the average consumer wants to see new capabilities for entertainment, not just video games. Not to mention that the tech behind the features is pretty cool, and it seemed blatantly intuitive during the presentation.

@danielbirchal @bluefire1360 xbox live isn't required to play the games, they have confirmed there is no "required internet connection". Furthermore, you said you're still playing Sega Genesis games.. on your Sega Genesis... If you're worried about backwards capability then you should just keep your consoles, just like you kept your Sega Genesis. Consoles cant keep the same architecture forever, they need to adapt to changing technologies as well as future proof their hardware.

@OrleanKnight @bluefire1360 I highly doubt developers and publishers with no where to go except Xbox One or PS4 are going to stop developing games and content, it's an adaptive industry that will change depending on the market, which honestly, will probably be pretty stong due to the gap between generations. The burnout of this generation should ignite the next, they will sell enough units to make a profit and they will more than definitely sell enough units to justify making video games.

@Nefarious13 @bluefire1360 The word conservative has strong ties to politics and religion, that doesn't mean it's meaning is exclusive to those domains. You know exactly what I mean when I use the word in this context :P

@vaibhavp @krystyla Not initially, console exclusives and cross platform titles will be on par with PC for the first little while. Consoles are the forefront of generational leaps (as the consumer base is much larger), PCs just catch up quickly and slowly exceed the graphical capability of the consoles over time due to the major(ish) advancement of PC hardware every few months.

Is the video gaming community really becoming this conservative? Everything they're doing makes a whole lot of sense when you consider modern technology trends, the explosion of cloud computing and the nature of the announcement, which was to advertise and explain the consoles features, not announce games, it was clearly a marketing decision to keep game announcements mainly for E3. The xbox one sounds like an incredible piece of entertainment technology, people seem to overlook the sheer amount of power the double OS system will grant developers, the actual hardware inside the thing and how refined the features appear to be, which were demonstrated live, flawlessly throughout the presentation. The only rational thing I think people could be bummed out about is the fact that they're going to charge a fee with used games transactions, and tbh no one isn't going to by the console for that reason, people will get used to the new used game system and buy it anyways once the new titles start rolling out. With the presentation and the slightly annoying, but clearly logical changes to the system aside, the console will obviously still act as a great foundation for the next generation of video games. Considering this is my hobby and I enjoy video games, I'm not going to piss on Microsoft for expanding the capabilities of their console, and I'm very interested to see what they show us at E3.

@VarietyMage Video games are part of an industry, their goal is to make money. The whole purpose of reboots is to breath life into an older series, and developers are going to have a hard time selling sequels that are years and years apart, it makes sense to start a new. The point of a business is to take a modern approach to what you're selling. You may want a direct sequel of Deus Ex, but fact is even if there was a direct sequel, less people would purchase it due to the number in the title, and it probably still wouldn't be like the originals due to advancements and changes in its general genre. That also doesn't change the fact that two titles you mentioned Tomb Raider or Deus Ex: Human Revolution, two games that fall into this "trap" are fantastic, critically acclaimed titles that really are quite good.

Lol I love all the halo haters on this thread :P Halo reach improved quite a bit on 3, it's just one of those games you need to see in motion to to appreciate the visuals and notice it obviously had an improvement over it's predecessor. The atmosphere, amazing back drops, high quality cuts scenes and textures, holly wood explosion effects and millions of more polygons on the models. The game looks very slick, It's not the best looking game out there but the visuals are extremely polished and are nice and easy on the eyes. Unfortunately looking at low res still images of both games ruins the point in comparing them...

Wow, this graphics comparison is terrible, the screenshots are really low res... Making out the details in both games is difficult. If you actually have played both, you will notice the tremendous improvement in graphical quality while playing reach.
