@Lord_Python1049 @zombieseesmeat @deathstream censorship starts small, government control is slow moving, and it can be, because it only moves forward, never in reverse, it only gets larger, never shrinks, it's not about censorship, it's about government control, the more control it has, the more relevant it is, the more it costs, and the more ingrained into everyday life, forget the conspiracy theory stuff, why would anyone in washington NOT want government size and scope to increase? That's like asking a CEO if he wants to downsize his company.
@Rie_BooM @zombieseesmeat Not to jump in or anything, but contrary to us "being on the news" all the time, over the last 20 years, violent cime is down substantially, and gun ownership up substantially...not saying one is connected to the other, but still.
@Rie_BooM @bluefox755 What I don't think alot of people outside the country, or even folks that don't pay attention around here, is, it's not so much about guns, it's about resisting the growth of government, which seems to attach it's many tentacles to a new part of our lives every day, some folks trust the folks in washington unconditionally, i however don't...I feel like people aren't dumb as rocks (not all anyway) and don't necessarily need daddy government to take care of everything for them, I believe politics and ideology always trump common sense here in the states, thats why I say people > government
@johnnyauau @zombieseesmeat in his defense, we were having discussion, albeit heated and probably slightly misinformed, but discussion none the less that had not until now resorted to name calling, though I was about to call the brit piers morgan :)
@Rie_BooM Well, maybe I'm crazy, but we have been spending LOTS of money lately, but i'll be damned, no matter how many trillions we fork over and borrow from china...things just aren't really getting any better. About your limiting accessibility idea too. We kinda tried that too, but the damndest thing, alot of the places with the most gun control laws have the highest crime...chicago for example.
@deathstream I would prefer the government worry about paying off the ridiculous amount of debt they have racked up, and keep their nose out of everything else until they have mastered the simple task that most of you and I have to do everyday: budget our money.
Can anyone remember a time when the country was so divided? Solutions become lost in a bloated government and a partisan pissing contest. Everybody is either a chris matthews or o'reilly mouthpiece...I don't see anything changing.
