It's corporate executives in offices brainstorming..."Let's do motion control, everyone loves that right??" I hear ya though, seems like every year the industry is trying to force some stupid new gimmick down our throats as the next big step in gaming, motion control...3d crap, it all comes and goes, how about they make some quality games? That's the way to make money :)
It's crazy right, I'm only 27, I went through high school in a time before 2nd graders all had smart phones and ipads, now you walk up to these high school kids, their faces buried in their phones, you talk to them, and they look like a deer in headlights...like they can't believe someone is talking to them rather than texting, lol...so much has changed in the last 10 years or so...
Don't care about artsy games, but I certainly am tired of the endless supply of generic shooters getting cranked out...what happened to the roleplaying genre? Is it completely dead? Even popular ones like mass effect couldn't pull away from the shooter genre, don't get me wrong, I liked it, but games coming out now just seem to generic and manufactured, even Final Fantasy, my original gaming love has resorted to on rails like gaming. People say "Well, play indie games!" No, lol...if I wanted to play indie games I'd go to an art gallery, but I would like something somewhere in the middle...the industry is becoming very polarized in my opinion
I agree, so much gimmicky "social gaming" garbage, everyone in the industry is shifting their focus that way though, because that's where the money's at apparently, it's a lot cheaer and easier to make a gimmicky party game, that will appeal to the casual gamer than a quality, fleshed out game, and indie gaming? meh, I've played a few that were ok, but unless you're someone who cares about artsy games, then there's not a lot of quality to be found there either, but you get what you pay for I suppose.
Much ado about nothing, I've been pretty happy with blizzard, particularly when compared to other companies, they go the extra step for their players, so I feel they deserve a little bit of fanboyism
I dunno, it's not for everyone I suppose, I might give it a try...I just don't trust me internet connection, what if it just drops in the middle of a boss fight? That means I'm f*cked yeah? :P
I'm not into to hardcore, never was, but the absence of real money auction house (which he is correct, will ruin the marketplace, because people will find a way to cheat to make real money off it, much faster than they would otherwise), is tempting, the real money auction house is the only thing about this game that I am dreading, I hope I'm overreacting to it, but I doubt it.
