@PJthePlayer2 @bluefox755 @lonesamurai1 PC has lots of indie games, but there is just not many quality games released for PC mainly, Witcher 2 is the last one I can think of, you have another example?
@lonesamurai1 PC gaming is like eating at a 4 star restaurant with 3 things on the menu. Sure it's good, but variety is the spice of life. So as much as I may like that restaurant, sometimes I may want something new, and that fast food place down the street may not be fine dining, but damn if it isn't good, and it's got a lot of things on the menu too that I just can't get at the 4 star place. Sure it would be nice if that 4 star place had a bigger menu, with tastier takes on the fast food dishes, but they don't.
Let's look at the facts...Xbox 360 was released in 2005, right? The fastest card back then was, what? 7800 GTX, or something similar right? I used to have a 9800 GTX (released 3 years after the 7800 gtx), and I can't see it running any of today's games that well, much less a 7800 GTX. Now, how does Xbox 360 run today's games (albeit a little less pretty, but playable), yet Nvidia's fastest card at the time cannot? Consoles are released with outdated technology I thought? So why is this the case?
The argument that consoles are holding back PCs is ridiculous as well. Why do you think consoles are so popular? They're more affordable, more bang for the buck. The non-enthusiast consumer (the majority), like that consoles are cheaper. Do you think if the console market disappeared, that everyone who used to game on consoles would just run out and buy a 1000 dollar video card? And game technology would instantly jump ahead 3 years, right? lol. The market for bleeding edge graphics can't touch the size of the market for casual and mainstream gamers, cost conscious consumers. That's what's holding back PC gaming, not consoles, there just isn't enough people that care about bleeding edge graphics and expensive video cards. It's not mainstream, sorry.
@dummpymonkey123 Because I like options, to use your analogy. I enjoy games looking nice on my PC, but I'm not gonna just 'not play' all those other fun games because they aren't released on PC. The games are still fun, they just look a little less nice. I still enjoy myself, as opposed to the guy who didn't enjoy it at all, because he wouldn't play it on console.
@lithus That's a good point, you can play today's games on Xbox 360, they might not look as nice, but you can still play them just fine. Try playing today's games on an 8 year old PC, even with all settings set to lowest, don't see it happening.
I don't understand how PC are considered 'in competition' with consoles. We all own PCs anyway, put a nice video card in and you can play multiplats all nice and pretty. What about all those console exclusives though? Are you just gonna pass on those because you're a douchey PC elitist? I love PC gaming, but can't understand why elitists make it into a PC vs Console thing.
@Greyskin1 @bluefox755 @MetalGearX1 no, that's something that politicians who want to regulate video games say, they cherry pick studies that find the results they want, ignoring the studies that find the opposite result. You show me proof of this 'debunking' I'll show you proof to the contrary.
