I think I'll be picking up Valkyria Chronicles for the PS3 this weekend at Gamestop. It's half off for their sale and apparently the game is already out of print because it didn't sell well, so it'll be hard to find in the next few years..

Too many map packs come out now for games that aren't good enough to justify their prices. The only map pack I don't regret purchasing was the Legendary map pack for Halo 3. I semi-regret purchasing the Heroic pack since it went free pretty fast and wasn't as good as the Legendary. But I do plan on purchasing the Mythic pack. The maps look awesome and they come out on my first day of Spring break! I regret purchasing the Gears 1 maps, and am glad I never bought the Gears 2 maps. I pretty much stopped playing Gears 2 online because Halo 3 and Killzone 2 are so much more addicting.

Another usless update.PSP107
Seconded. The dynamic music normalizer or whatever is pretty much the only feature that interests me, because I get that problem sometimes. But we get... copy and paste! Take THAT 360.... yeah!

[QUOTE="solo4321"][QUOTE="bluem00se"]Nice dude, it's a good game to start with. It's very traditional as far as JRPG's go but very well-done. The story may start off a bit slow but it will pick up and really draw you in emotionally by the end of disc 1 (if you haven't gotten there yet). But... did you GameFly it? Because a traditional 5-day rental doesn't seem like sufficient time to beat it, unless ALL you do is play it for those 5 days. It took me 2 months to beat it, though that's simply because I started playing it in March of last year, and I was spending lots of my time concentrating on schoolwork, finals, and track. As far as other good JRPG's, I honestly can't recommend many on the 360. Apparently Tales of Vesperia and Star Ocean are good, but I haven't had the opportunity to play them yet. Eternal Sonata is ok, but it was hard for me to finish. It just didn't stick with me. Those are open world battle systems though, as in not turn-based like LO. If you want another traditional JRPG on the 360 I guess the closest thing you can get is Blue Dragon. From what I've heard, it's very traditional, and very kiddy. But, if I could recommend you any RPG across ANY system, here are my picks: Final Fantasy X (PS2) - my favorite game of all time. It tells a great and tragic tale revolving around saving the world and love. It's also very linear for a Final Fantasy so it's easy to pick up and play for a new JRPG gamer. Then of coursse, FFVII - IX, Chrono Trigger, and tons of other JRPGs that came out on the PS2 and before. Your best selection of titles is probably on the PS2 or PS1 if you have 1. Sorry if this post is really long. Haha

Thanks for the recommendations dude, I appreciate them. I rented it from Blockbuster but I have the Game/Movie Pass, so I could keep it as long as I want.

Oh I see, that's pretty sweet. No problem man, it's awesome to see more people take up JRPG's now who have not played any before. With the general quality and quantity of JRPG's in a bit of decline since the PS2 generation, it's good to see that people still show interest in JRPG's. It's the last genre of gaming I would want to see go down the toilet if that ever happened. Haha.

It was released on a UK site and is dated April 1. Plus I've never heard of the site before, and the quote used from Square sounds very deliberately faked.

The PS3 IS compatible with Ps1 games, just not PS2 games. All PS3 models can play PS1 games. And there is a small chance that b/c will eventually come back to the PS3. Might take a while, but I bet it will happen one day. Maybe when they finally kill the PS2 off.

Yeah I don't understand people who say we don't need another MGS. It doesn't have to continue Solid Snake's story (and it probably won't). Kojima hasn't made a bad Metal Gear yet, so I say keep em coming! And it probably will be PS3 exclusive. Kojima will be involved in one way or another. If you read about his GDC keynote, it's evident that his drive for creating more Metal Gear games is fueled by wanting to push the most advanced hardware he has available. He will have to go backwards if he brings it to the 360. Konami may want him to do otherwise, but in the end it's up to Kojima.

I was very disappointed with it, but I knew it was coming. We have seen plenty of evidence in the past few days pointing towards this. Hopefully we will see bigger and better announcements soon..
