[QUOTE="Cyber-"][QUOTE="twosaxy4myshirt"][QUOTE="Miisterr"][QUOTE="akai_reaver"][QUOTE="Miisterr"][QUOTE="Cyber-"][QUOTE="twosaxy4myshirt"][QUOTE="Cyber-"][QUOTE="twosaxy4myshirt"] I didn't have to pick myself up off the floor after this update, but it's a very solid, and interesting update. I'm not particularly happy with the waggle smashes, though. I don't think Brawl needs motion sensing in the gameplay, because now my two-year-old niece will be able to fire out smash attacks without even knowing what she's doing. Also, from my experience with previous games with "shake to hit" controls (i.e. Twilight Princess, Mario Strikers Charged, Super Mario Galaxy - all three awesome games, mind you) I get really tired of it really fast. The other problem is the prospect of accidental smashes at the wrong time. More than likely, this is a control format that I will use at most a few times and then choose another setting.
Saving names and control schemes to the Wii Remote is pretty much amazing, though.

What you said about the motions in SMG, TP, and Strikers, I havent heard a complaint about them and they are only useful to me. As I am running shaking really speads things up, granted i was hoping for more control in TP, but it still worked.
For SSBB this is perfect especially if you want to map all your other actions to buttons. You wont accidently do it unless you are shaking like crazy.
The simple fact (in my case, at least) is that an arm/wrist movement always has slower reaction time and less accuracy/precision than a finger movement, especially when the movement must be in a certain direction and is not just "aimless shaking." It may be more convenient, but is it actually faster? That's a huge concern, since I play Smash very competitively among my peers. Anyway, I'm not writing it off before I try it, but I remain skeptical. For example, how do you propose to charge a smash attack when shaking the controller? Adding another button to charge takes the convenience of shaking the controller in the first place. However, if I don't like it, then I can always just try another button layout or return to the beloved GameCube control configuration.
If you think about being able to shake in that direction for the Smash attack is actually a huge bonus. Hear me out: with the direction of the smash being determined by the analog you limit your actions because you have to focus on the attack, with the attack being assigned a directional motion you can still be doing other actions (this is something people cannot deny).
I think your concern is very understandable because so many games on Wii have improperly use the motions. But as seen with high budget Wii games the motions are actually an advancement. If these motions are done right it can only be better for those who want to play SSBB competitvely because now we have a higher level of multitasking. If your wrist get tired this is a personal problem which does not apply to the majority and as always there is a wide variety of ways to control this game. here will obviously be a convenient way to charge it and use the motions. While some things are more responsive as buttons like fast hits, other things like large drawn out hits are much better on a motion.
I too thought the GC controller was going to be my choice, whith the classic lacking rumble and the nunchuk/wiimote not having as nice of a button layout the GC controller was looking good. But now the Wiimote/Nunchuk IF the motions are responsive (probabaly are), if they use the speaker, and they use the rumble then it will be the most interactive and multitasking controller to use.
i dont know why you discuss a lot about this topic.. i didint read it all (cuz i got tired).. but the thing is you can turn it off if you dont like this shaking smash thing :P
The WiiMote Nunchuck thing will be the most relaxed, since you can put your arms as far apart.
yeah.. and as soon as i get used to it im gonna kick some assess online!! i love smash!! :D
While I understand that you can be excited about Smashing in a new way, my concerns will not be alleviated until I get to try it myself. And I just have to laugh at kicking assess... LOL!
Obviously but I would be more dissappointed if they did no motions. Now we have a control system with some motion controls and I am pretty sure they will make it worl perfectly.
lol, not one ass, not two asses, butTHREE assess...! lol the lines are getting shorter and shorter...
