GFWL lost access to my saved games for DIRT 2. It's one of those games I rarely play, but sometimes fire up when I'm in the mood for something quick and mindless. I dislike GFWL so I created and used an offline mode profile and that worked fine until I got Batman:AC. That forced me to make an online profile and when I did that, I lost access to my saved games. They are still on my HD, but GFWL refuses to recognize them anymore. I tried copying them into my newer online profile, but GFWL gave me a message saying I was a naughty boy. Ridiculous. I uninstalled DIRT2 soon after.

Runs flawlessly on my PC.
I dislike MMOs but LOTRO (and WWII Online) are the only two I ever got into, played, and payed money for.
I enjoyed the deep Tolkieneqsue feel to LOTRO and had a lot of fun exploring the world. That ended when I got to level 40 or so as it became very, very difficult to progress further at that stage unless you worked with a party. I was on one of the more populated servers yet it was a challenge to find others willing to join up on quests. Everyone just wanted to go on the same instances, over and over and over again. That's when I quit playing. Still, I think I spent about $30 on the game and got a good 3-4 months of enjoyment out of it, so no complaints.
It needs work.
There's already one patch out but the game still has some real problems with scripting. I'm constantly finding that events fail to tirgger or trigger only partially so the AI doesn't react to them and stupidity ensues. I've also had a few CTDs so far. I seem to be luckier than some who are reporting CTDs occuring regularly on their PCs.
The issue I seem to be having now is that the server client will sometimes not register any games for me, so the list of servers appears totally empty. Doesn't matter how many times I reset the filters or refresh, it just comes up empty.
I haven't had too many problems with the sound, but one that I definitely do notice is the footsteps sound effect. It's fine in SP, but in MP it sounds like you're doing tiny little shuffle steps. I suspect that they mixed up the running sound with the side-step sound and the result sounds almost comical.
Be advised that if you get the Gamersgate version (and other non-Steam versions I suspect), you'll have to install the ProtectDisc DRM malware. I've had issues with this one before where it caused my DVD player to falsely recognize legit DVDs as pirated .ts files and refuse to play them.
It does have the same editor.
I've only just scratched the surface so take this with a grain of salt. So far, it looks and feels like a heavily modded version of ArmA II with some extra features thrown in and more complex vehicle mechanics. If you like ArmA, you'll most likely enjoy this and feel right at home.
At times, the AI seems very poor (worse than ArmA) and don't seem to be able to handle the extra terrain features and commands all that well.
Yup, pre-ordered from gamersgate ($25.46) and I've got about 30 minutes left until it's downloaded.
Both Wadsie and I have given reasons but it's apparent that you don't want to hear them. Further discourse with you will be a fruitless endeavour.
Wadsie. I agree. I hope that the classic mode works out and brings back some players. If not, hopefully Iron Front will do well. I know you're a fan of ArmA so will probably enjoy it. I'm looking forward to it but some early reviews out of Europe say the AI isn't really up to the task. Guess that means co-op time!
