I appreciate ur help but 4gb of ddr2 is about 200 aussie and a case is about 250. A 22 inch monitor is about 300. So thats already 750 without adding a good graphics card or processer let alone speakers keyboard and all that crap.

Just imagine i want to waste money i want to spend 1400 on the 530. If my current computer renders 5 mins of compressed HD for 3 hours. A computer with over 4 times more ram, much better graphics card, much much much better processer, shouldent it be much much faster?
Im not interested in playing Crysis on high. I just want to edit 1080i and use after effects and i want the video to render in an acceptable time which is probably under 20 mins for 5 mins of footage.
My current computer which i edit on (a laptop) couldent even playback 1080i video so i had to change it to DV which takes 3 hours to render 5 mins. My current computer has under a gig of ram and 1.7ghz processer. I dont understand why this inspiron will take hours to render HD when the Specs are so much better. I am also planning on upgrading the inspiron to 4gb ram.
