On another note TC if you really wanted to make an example of OVER-hyped games that didn't pan out, how could you forget FABLE?

Suggest: replace SSC (not hyped anywhere near the others) with Fable, better suits your argument.

Because fanboys try to convince others of the superiority of the game they like over every other game other people like, so they therefore sometimes (most times) end up over emblishing what the game can actually acheive in the real product vs >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>what they hype it to be.

Remember at the beginning of the gen how oblivion (one of the first current gen games announced) was hyped? Man that game was awful in the final product IMO but they hype made is seem like you would never need to play another game again.

On another note ifSEGA had made an HD console for this generation it would have been the best generation ever. it was the stiff competiton that sega gave to theNintendo that made all the other gens so great IMHO.

Even tho Dramcast only lasted 2 years last gen, the quality of Segas games forced Sony to step up and back up their words and truly produce something truely amazing in order to continue the hyping phase>>>Simularly to the way Sony is now focing MS to do this gen.

I thought the common view point conveyed by xbox fans here on this board is that PS3 users don't even use regulear voice chat IN GAMES? So why would PS3 fans be upset about not being able to have a feature that is dedicated to chating with people OUTSIDE OF THE GAME?

but last year and this year look to be makingup for alot of ground in that department. We need more unconventional, let it all hang loose, forget what caters to the casuals type of games like Demon's Souls for this gen to stand a chance. Also Unchated 2 last year was excellent and Alan Wake looks fantastic this year. also Halo Reach looks to regain the formor glory of a title that's truly capable of recapturing what made Halo CE so great. There has been no game that is trulyremarkable and original, I'm talking about the type of game that sets new standards. It just might be the type of gen. which foretold a darker gaming future...
