Go here:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AMD64

They verify what I say.

AMD does use 64 bit.

Then you use 64 bit.

What brand PC do you have?

Because if its not custom built, you can go to your site and chat with a tech support person and ask them to verify,

But unless someone corrects me Im pretty sure it usses 64 bit.

No prob, you can download the advisor at the microsoft website.

Or instead of upgrading to vista, you can do what I did.:

Partition your HDD in two. Install Vista in one of the partitions, and leave XP on the other.

Then everytime you start your PC, you are asked which OS to use.

Also, yes the VTP6 comes with the sidebar. You can then upgrade the sidebar to a newer version that comes with more, better gadgets.

The object bar on top no. You have to install that seperate.Search it on google.

thanks for answering my questions. im familiar with system restore, but is there a way to access it thru like starting up your computer? lets say somethig happens to my files and i cant get to my desktop on startup, is there a way to restore?

and you link isnt working, just brings me to the webpage you used to upload it, but no pic is there to see

edit- it works, thanks for doing that. so it comes with the sidebar? does it come with a lot of widgets too? what about that object bar?

No problem, Im glad to help :)

Well lets see, If anything happens during instalation (which there shouldnt because during instalation you are adviced to install in safe mode which reduces the chance of any erroes) when you start up your PC you can either start PC in safemode and use sytem restore  or uninstall VTP 6. All of this in safemode ofcourse.

If safemode doesnt work, you can use the "start PC with previous configuration of a succesful start" or something similar. You choose that option to start PC with the configuration of a previously time when it worked.

I have vista ultimate and I have only had 2 compatability problems.
1: Musicmatch didnt work.
2: My antivirus wasnt compatible :( (I had to go online and get a newer version of NOD32 (My antivirus).)
Again I had little to no problems with compatability. I even installed a new HP priter and had no probs.

Use "Vista Upgrade Advisor" to see if any of your programs are not compatible with vista.
