Well, I couldn't find a GBA Micro...

...so I bought a DS Lite instead. Makes my old DS look like a pile of puke.

Well not really, it's still a great machine, and I like the D-Pad on it better. I was way more impressed with it thast I thought I'd be with the Lite though. Not top-heavy, and the screens are amazingly crisp. This is the second time we've had 2 DS' in the house, but this time we actually have alot of games that have "Download Play" features in them.

my bit Generations titles showed up from play-asia.

Boundish = Pong with 5 different tables
Dialhex = Cool puzzler with awesome music.
Dotstream = The best of series. It's a racing game of sorts. Very well designed. Reminds me of Defender, Missle Command, Tron, and Rez all at the same time. Again...really awesome music.

Full reviews up tomorrow.

Big month for imports, and my Credit Card bills. The wife and I really like Anime fighters, so we got Battle Stadium D.O.N for GameCube. God bless Datel's "Freeloader" disc. And since I love to be a couple months ahead of the curve... I'm getting Mario Hoops 3-on-3 and Star Fox Command for DS shipped on the 27th. I have  a feeling they'll be very playable before being translated to English...and if not someone always takes this stuff fast if I post it on eBay.

GBA Micro disappearing?

...in Canada at least?

So I decided it was time to round out my hardware collection with a GBA Micro. My copies of the first series of the bit Generations titles should be here on Monday if not sooner.

I checked FutureShop, and they had them listed at $69.99 (CDN). Not on sale or anything.

Someone else told me they found one at Zellers for $50!!!

I started to shop around the other major retailer's sites (BestBuy, Toys R Us, etc), and no one else seems to have any stocked, although they all did last week.

even ebgames.com has nothing related to the GBA Micro.

The SP is still in stock everywhere, and $100.

Has the Micro been discontinued? At least in Canada?

Were sales that terrible?

I just Pre-Ordered my first 3 Wii games!

Mario, Metroid and Zelda are are available for pre-order as of right now (9:58 AM EST) here in Canada at futureshop.ca (owned by Best Buy)

The price concerns me though...they're all the same price as X360 games ($70 CDN or $60 USD).

Estimated release date is November 30.

Now, I used to work for Futureshop, and can say that they usually don't make huge mistakes, but I have a feeling these may vanish from their website soon.

Bryehn's Imports of the Week.

1. Metal Slug (PS2) (Japan, Import Cost: $65 USD)

Good: Has the same sense of quirky charm as the 2D scrollers. The box says NTSC/J, but all menus and voices are in English.
Still frantic, Still fun. A great transition from 2D to 3D.

Bad: NO 2 PLAYER CO-OP!!!. Camera can be annoying.

Famitsu: 7, 7, 7, 7 - (28/40)

The reason I got this one, is that I'm absolutely in love with the Metal Slug series, and a huge SNK fan in general. This one probably won't make it here anytime soon too. Pissed at the lack of co-op though.

2. Rockman ZX (DS) (Japan, Import Cost: $50 USD)

Good: Nice update to the look of the Zero games from GBA. A stiff challenge, the way Mega Man should be.

Bad: The bottom screen is pretty much useless

...The reason I got this one is that US versions of Mega Man have been "watered down" before reaching North America.

Famitsu: 8, 8, 7, 8 - (31/40)

3. Milon no Shi Zora Shabon: Puzzle Kumikyoku (DS) (Japan, Import Cost: $40 USD)

Good: Milon is adorable.

Bad: Not a remake of the NES platform-puzzler as I had hoped. Instead, it's a Bust-A-Move clone for the most part, but the boxart is awesome, and my wife likes it.

Famitsu: 6, 6, 6, 7 - (25/40)

New video: Suikoden II Opening Movie

Ok, so I had one more to do. This is by far the best of the Suikoden games I've played. Well worth the $100 plus I spent on it. It's just too bad I was never into RPGs when this game was released.

New video: Tales of Destiny Opening Movie

This will be my last one today I think. Took 2 hours to produce less than 7 minutes worth of video. This is a totally underrated entry in the Tales series that deserves a better reputation. Hopefully we'll see the remake surface outside of Japan.
