Resolution Failed

Wow, that was fast. Its kind of funny actually, I thought I was going to have more free time now that the year is winding down, but I've been getting more work because teachers are realizing how much they haven't gotten done. But I'm on vacation right now, checking out colleges in Washington DC. I really, really like the area to say the least. I've only seen George Mason, but its campus has really sold me so far.

As for the reviews...they will come over time. My gaming has gone up actually, and I just accomplished Xbox 360's most dangerous achievement. 7 Day Survivor in Dead Rising means playing the game for 7 days in a survival mode. There's of course no saving, which would make sense, so you basically need to have your Xbox on for 14 hours. How my Xbox did not freeze up I will never know. But I got a shiny new lightsaber for doing it!

Winds of Change

Well, it feels like an eternity since I've done something other than just post. It feels extremely weird to look back and see I haven't written a review on this site since 2006. I mean, I feel like I just got really lazy and stopped caring about this place. I only really stop in every day to post because I kinda feel like I need to talk to everyone to reconnect.

So here's my very late New Years Resolution. Write reviews for:

Gears of War
Guitar Hero 3
Rock Band
Crash of the Titans
Crackdown

Blog at the very least once a month

Reconnect with some old friends

I think thats a good list to say the least. Here's hoping it works.

New...Blog?

So yeah, I don't do these blog things. I'm not sure why though. 10000+ posts, I must be a talker. I lack the profound statements. Or something like that. I'm not sure really. Or I'm just lazy.

I'm still with my girl, 5 months as of 9/11, as disturbing as it is. It was also her sister's birthday, my friend's mothers, and someone else's who I can't remember.

Gears has taken over my gaming life.

Marching+Jazz+Driving School=No Tuesdays or Thursdays

Thats about it.

My level suits my status I suppose

Yes, thats right boys and dudettes. I reached level 30, and the only reason I mention it is because of me nearly passing out today. Yup, it was a fun day.

For the last few days I've felt a little under the weather. Occasional light headedness, headaches, and some other stuff starting Friday, but I thought nothing of it. But then when I got out of band today, I realized that if I didn't eat something in the next 5 minutes, I was going to pass out. Crisis averted, I return to normal life. After working out the following period, light headedness returns, and I have an essay to write. After 5 minutes, pass out feeling returns and I spend the rest of the period in the nurse's office.

Surprisingly enough, I didn't get the cold that my girlfriend has. After coming over lastnight, I would think I'd have the sniffles. And pervs, she didn't spend the night.

So yay me, sick ftl. Not single, ftw.

A Month and Four Days

Amazing to see what happened since my last blog post.

1) I beat Guitar Hero 2 on expert forĀ 360 in 2 days, which playing time was probably around 4 hours.

2) It actually happened at a party with some friends, which made it better.

3) At the same party the girl that I liked kissed me.

4) A few days later she decides that she just wants to stay friends, which I tell her that there's no way I'm going to let that happen after the party (we've been trying to figure this whole deal out for weeks prior to the party)

5) After me telling her she had til the end of the week to give me an answer whether or not she would go out with me before I couldn't handle it anymore (it had an effect on my sleep and eating habits), she says yes on Wednesday. Unfortunately for me, she's out of state til Sunday

6) Due to this whole "Noreaster" or whatever they're calling it, she won't get home til Monday. But I told her to just be safe and take her time getting home. She sounds like she really cares about me, which eases my mind after problems with relationships my last April break.

7) I'm on April break for a week, which rocks

8) My friend (who's a girl), makes a huge mistake last night. Not "sexy time" bad, but pretty close before she came to her senses. Oh, and she's not going out with the guy, and he doesn't see them in a relationship anytime soon.

Ah, the life of a 15 year old boy who's now dating a junior during his sophomore year.

A Warrior Reborn

Wow, almost 4 months ago was my last blog post. Yay procrastination!

As for my le life, no chicks, no family problems, no horrible grades. Gaming however, is at a new high. I've played the life out of Dead Rising (That has to be ironic in some sense), and for some reason can't stop. Its easily my favorite game for my 360, which I got in early Decemember. I've beaten it something like 5 times, and have yet to be bored with it.

Guitar Hero 2. I honestly cannot say anything bad about this game. It has become my life. I live Freebird and Hangar 18 now. It really is my favorite game of PS2's entire time. It also became a huge hit at parties with my friends. 4 people got it for Christmas because of me. Pretty good job if I do say so myself.

So yes, I am still alive and gaming.

One decision changes your entire life.

If I hadn't said no in 6th grade, I would never have appeared on this site. Eerie, isn't it?

Back in 6th grade my family came to a crossroad. My grandparents were moving to a condo place near where we currently live. My parents were debating whether or not we should buy their house and move there. After all, its on a lake.

My parents made it so my brother and I had a say in it. We shot them down, saying we'd never leave the home we grew up in or our friends. So we didn't and we got a pool...instead of a lake.

Flash forward to last year, 367 days ago to be exact. Marching band practice is in high gear, we're learning some new sets for Crazy Train. I'm friends with my section leader and he asks me if I play Call of Duty and if I'm going to get CoD2. I said no and he told me to try the demo. I go to EA's site and look for the demo and find a link to Gamespot. I'm required to join to download the demo. After some problems, I do. Then it won't work. Then my first post is made, asking for help. I had never planned to stay on GS, but the community got me in.

Flash forward to yesterday where I had marching competition. Since then my section leader has graduated and I've been placed in second in command behind a senior. After the competition I hear a familiar voice. Its his. Since it was the weekend, he decided to come see us all. We talk for a while and then the band has to leave. Before I go he tells me one thing. "Teach your section how to march." It sent a chill up my spine, because only a year ago he had been teaching me.

Its amazing how one decision changes your life.

Gaming is starting to come full circle

As many video game lovers know, the industry has gone through many different situations in its time. Consoles such as the Atari 2600 paved the way for our current past time and yet nearly killed the industry with endless sequal and rip off so to speak. Nintendo saved home gaming with the NES, and gaming has grown again and again since. But a good question is, will the next generation cause this problem once more?

You're quick to respond "No, it will never happen" without looking at the similarities there are between this time and the past. Games were often a cheap ripoff of another game, with little to no addition at all to the original game. Look at the current generation's sports games. Almost all of them are the same, with a few features different for that one year. That is, until the other company adds that very feature to their game. Madden is a perfect example. Looking at last year's game and this year's show little to no difference at all. Just updated rosters and a few little add ons. Instead of offering downloadable rosters for free, EA likes to milk gamers for $50 to $60 a year.

Funny, this segways into the next point. Gaming companies are too greedy. They see something sells, they copy it. Original games, few as there are, are often skipped over for Final Fantasy 376. Now, thats not to say a sequal is bad. But if the entire industry is made up of sequals, whats the point? Psyconaughts is a perfect example of a great game that many skipped soley because they could get a game they recognized for the same price at half the quality.

Even worse is when a person does eventually pick up that original game, but they buy it used. Then, the company doesn't see a dime of that money. So then that company slowly loses more and more money, eventually going broke. With rising costs to make a game for the 360 or PS3, if you don't have a succesful game, you're s.o.l, thus leading back to no inovation and the same game over and over.

So please, remember how you can help. Buy a game new, give a weird game a chance, and don't pick up another racing game unless its something you think can change the world or be amazing.

Computer Problems

This is going to be quick. My computer has some worm or something. It took roughly 10 hours today just to be able to get McAfee to start up. So I'm on my bro's computer for about 10 minutes only. So yeah, don't expect to see me until we fix my laptop.

Aboot time to have another blog eh?

Wow, its been a while since I had oneĀ of these. So here's some news, seperated by GS and real life effects.

GS:

1. I have been given control of the Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts union, something I plan to put to good use.

2. I have been experimenting with the emblem sysetem, so I DO NOT have a hate for NES and SNES games.

3. I retained the Ironman Title in XWE, Soldier put up a helluva fight.

Real Life

1. I survived Band Camp, it wasn't that bad at all actually.

2. Being a Sophmore is a little different from being Fresh Meat erm, a Freshmen. More fun, less worries, easier so far.

3. I'm going to Ring of Honor on 9/15 which should be amazing.

So yes, this is my life. Plus the Yankees are still pwning.
