[QUOTE="Hoobinator"]Nope. I speak proper English, none of this simplified rubbish for a simple people.Hoobinator

Fail much?

unless that was deliberate, in which case I look like an arse.

Proper:

8.Grammar.

a.(of a name, noun, or adjective) designating a particular person or thing and written in English with an initial capital letter, as Joan, Chicago, Monday, American.

Independent article; read the headline.

Nothing of note wrong with what I wrote.

You don't put 'a' before a plural

Care to fetch me a reference that proves and that states this is a hard grammatical rule. I think at best it may not be the most eloquent wording I could have used, but I don't believe I committed any hard grammatical error, not in this case anyway.

The wording 'a simple people' I don't believe commits any hard grammatical error.

EDIT: I'm right. From this article on grammatical mistakes.

  • Collective nouns, such as committee, herd, etc., are considered singular even though such nouns stand for a plurality of things.

In this case the word 'people' although standing for a plurality, is actually considered a singular. So nope, no grammatical error has occurred.

What a coincidence! I prefer "eloquent wording", or as i like to call it "silver-tongued verbalism".

What about people who choose to be straight to hide their homosexuality? There are a lot of goofy people in the world that would choose to go against what their body tells them.

Here's a fun fact. Pretty much all of them are less awesome than me.

Pretty much all of them are more uptight than me.

[QUOTE="Dracargen"][QUOTE="sammyjenkis898"]

[QUOTE="Dracargen"]Nay. Appealing to a very stupid 10-15 percent of the American population doesn't ring well.sammyjenkis898

It's way more then that..

Ten to forty million people used illegal drugs (this includes ALL illegal drugs) last year. That would be MORE than my original estimation, since there are over 300 million people in America. That makes about 3-10 percent of the American population.

I think it's a lot more then that..

They surely aren't stupid..

That wouldn't have been a government survey by any chance would it?

[QUOTE="Deity_Slapper"][QUOTE="fanboy-buster"]

Haven't you seen the perfect balance of the universe? Everything in the universe runs perfectly. Everytime I think about this I know there is a higher power watching everything.

fanboy-buster

I bet you're the same type of person who will also complain that the world is so wicked.

Yes, I think the world is wicked, therefore we need a little help from God to get back on track.

We may need to check the instant replay vin..... yep epic fail!
