[QUOTE="longlong123"]

actually, the graphic memory of PSP only 2MiB though, PS2 is 4. But the screen resolution also matters, so in FACT, PSP games can look as good as those on PS2.

must also think about the media though. how much texture can you squeeze into a UMD max. at 1.8 gig for dual layers? the dvd's capacity is 4.7 gigs single layer.

But still, we can expect much more from PSP, they will manage somehow.Ā

dodow1234

Ā man, they should create 4,7 gigs umd

maybe a 1.8 GiGĀ dual layer UMD which would be 3.6 GiG, it would be cool

Well I think that the PSP is better when it comes to features, it has online play, you can go on the internet, change memory and view pictures and take pictures, etc... but when it comes to power or grpahics i would say that the PS2 is better but we should bare in mind that the PSP is a handheld and by far the grahics looks great, god of war CoO could be an example.

All of the information given in this thread can be found on Wikipedia. I just thought I'd give a funny little comparison, maybe to shut people up, including myself, about the PS3's so called demise. Also, I'd like to point out the importance of the price cut concept in this little tidbit and how this proves Sony should not do it.

Okay, so the Sega Dreamcast, Sega's last system, sold only 10.6 million units worldwide in 2+ years. That's not a lot, but it's fun to read why this happened. It actually did very well in North America, setting the pre-order record for more that 200,000 units pre-purchased. But what was killing Dreamcast was Japan. In Japan, it wasn't selling because people were really hyped about the PS2. Does any of this sound familiar? Does this not sound exactly like the XBOX360? No success in Japan, all the success in North America. I should also point out that 360 has also sold only 10-11 million units in 1 and a half years of existance. Funny.

Now, as for Sony, both the PSone and PS2 sold 100 million+ units worldwide and neither had the type of launch the PS3 had. HOWEVER, I should mention that PS2's launch was hindered by production slow down and PS3 is not. The PS3 has sold 3 million units now in 5 months, putting it on pace for about 8-10 million by year's end. Now considering the higher price, that's a far greater accomplish that Microsoft's similar numbers by this point in time.

BUT the big difference here is past performance...Sega didn't die only because of the Dreamcast's sales, it died because the Sega Saturn, Sega CD and Sega 32X only sold to combine somewhere between 10-15 million units worldwide. As for XBOX, it only sold 24 million worldwide and there is wide speculation that Microsoft actually took quite a hit for that financially. Now considering that PSone and PS2 combined to sell over 225 million units, I feel it's fair to say Sony has had quite a bit of success with past offerings. AND NOW, as for price cuts, the Dreamcast did cut its price to half that of the PS2's when the PS2 was launched. And guess what? It sold even worse! Sega lost more and more money, and the rest is history....hence why a price cut isn't exactly a guaranteed way for Sony to succeed.

And so what am I trying to say? PS3 will be fine. In fact, considering the lineup that's slated for release this year on PS3, should we all not be more concerned about 360 judging by the numbers? This isn't Sony fanboyism, this is fact! What if, at the end of the day, it's Microsoft backing out of console production? Seriously, these numbers along with the possibility of Elite's failure because the market is already saturated...do you not think it's possible? As for PS3, Sony is actually happy with what's going on and they're actually poised for some serious success this year. I just thought I'd throw this out there, sorry if it was too long.
