They're imgur shots (so not amazing quality), but they're serviceable.

I am not a Sony fan, but I am ok with more indies than AAAs. It's just economics. One takes a lot of money to develop, the other doesn't (...typically). It's not a knock on quality or graphical fidelity. A four man team made The Forest, and it looks better than most AAA games. Same with Legend of Grimrock. I was able to beat Diablo 3's main campaign three times in the same time span that it took me to complete Torchlight 2's main campaign once. Not to mention, back in the day games like Ikaruga were considered AAA console games, whereas now Ikaruga is an indie title only obtainable on XBLA and Steam.

@R4gn4r0k: Except infamous doesn't add super sampling. The photo mode adds no assets all you do is change the camera angle. I dont care what you do WD still looks worse.

"You can tweak other stuff as well, like adding Instagram-like visual filters and dropping your virtual camera's f-stop way down in order to get arty, close-up shots. I've had mixed results with the depth of field stuff, and found that a lot of the game's visual effects (explosions, particles, etc) don't go out of focus all that smoothly. But for the most part, I've been impressed by how easy it is to take great screenshots."

the context is it was posted on neogaf and is a perfectly valid comparison. you guys keep chanting to the high heavens how amazing this mod makes the game look and how its such a mind bendingly massive difference

Why don't you actually play the fucking game yourself with the mod? And did you read the actual description on the mod? Here it is:

Changes to the default fog values; Enabled bokeh DOF for the main cameras; Stuttering Improvements; E3 2012 Bloom; Performance Improvements; Enabled Headlight Shadows; LoD Changes; Reflection changes; Added 3 new cameras to the game(closer, normal, further); Rain changes(High quality rain drops, properly reacting to light, etc); LensFlares(WIP); Lighting changes(TESTING AND WIP); Civilians density changes

All of which I, as well as numerous other people who have actually installed and played the mod, can attest to. The vast majority of those changes are only particularly noticeable at night or in the rain (duh, rain density is only noticeable when it's raining!!) Do you want to see the fucking headlight shadows too? Here they are:

What exactly is it your'e trying to prove? The guy tweaked files dude. He never made it seem like anything else. People are mad that these options weren't there to begin with.

great video comparison showing the differences the mod makes with DOF off. original plays first followed by mod for each clip.

That's a horrible comparison video. It's all daytime footage, and the changes the mod makes are barely noticeable during the daytime (the primarily difference being that the mod gets rid of the game's heavily saturated look), especially if you take out the DOF. Not to mention, the quality is crappy as ****.
