i'd open it and clean it, i've opened every console controller i've had and some handhelds like my Gb and my PSP to remove the dust, dirt and candy stickyness my little nephew often leaves. just be very carefull.
yeah, create a "virtual memory card" for psx on the game menu in the XMB, cant remember how exactly but its pretty easy if you read carrefully, just make sure when your playing ps, ps2 games to press the PS button and choose slots for the memory cards as if they were really inserted

Like not-sleeping in more than 24 hours?? i've done that but un PS2, i didnt have job nor school so i spent an entire weekend with a couple of good games. My PS3 hasnt gone over that trial....yet

define homework.... seriously my teacher tell me to do something about reading books or solving some calculus problems but all i do is copying them in school but certainly the only thing i do in my house is playing

The PAL PS3 is not the same as the US/*** models. For 1 it is missing the PS2s emotion engine.
sorry, i meant for PS3 games the nationality of your console doesnt matter its universal, but PS and PS2 games are region limited like they were for the original consoles. As well as the movies in DVD/BD. The PSN is different for each region but if you have an account for each there's no problem and you can see the different stores.
