With only one console companies would spot trying to bring you to their side - that would mean less new innovative IP creation. For example exclusive games like Halo, Mario, Zelda, God of War, Journey, Uncharted, etc were born or backed up, not only but also, to bring people to their platform.

Don't misunderstand me i would have liked to see more vita and 3ds games at e3, but you can't put down a sector all the time and then expect it to be shown to you when you clearly don't care for it.
