I thought Microsoft's was the best. Full motion capture, voice/face recognition + AI are > Wii Mote & Sony Wand
Mr_Nordquist
full body capture was cool...but for fps, rts, etc. (like sony demoed) i don't see how it'd work
voice recognition.......thats in end war now?!? not exactly the most advanced tech
AI was pure programming for a tech demo not a game...
IMO sony's was the best showing for actual games....but MS was the best for wow factor
plus pulling the 2 engineers from their secret basement was kinda funny
Did you not see in MS's tech demo when they showed being able to reach your hand out in front of you, and touch the screen (not literally)? That solves RTS problems. For FPS it'd be just like Sony. You scan an item in (Something Sony's product can't do, but Microsoft's can), and use that. I'm sure Microsoft will release some sort of trigger for FPS games for that purpose. I mean even just imagine being able to draw your own artwork, and scan that into a game for use as a weapon/armor/car paint/custom character models/etc. Microsoft's camera blows every other piece of technology out of the water.
I also added voice recognition based on the fact that neither the Wii Mote, or Sony Wand do that.
AI was pure programming, and as such any game programmer can program that in.
PSeye is capable of the scanning, was shown in a tank tech demo a while ago where objects were used to construct tanks should be on google or something
Plus remember that it was only a "vision" they show'd you not actual use of the technology whereas the PSeye apps are actual prototypes
If microsoft starts releasing peripherals ninty style it defeats the whole point they were trying to get across
Sony Wand works in conjunction with the PSeye which has a built in mic hence making voice recognition viable for the playstation but not the wii without wii chat
all in all i think the wii is gonna be losing at its own game by the end of next year lol
