Completed DiRT!

Finally, I managed to complete my game of Colin McRae DiRT! I was stuck on one event, and I sure as hell needed a better car, so I bought the best Hill Climb Unlimited Car after spamming the first track on Clubman difficulty repeatedly, and then bought the car and raced, winning by a massive 40 seconds! :)

I haven't done it 100% yet, I still need to unlock quite a lot of cars and liveries but damn, it's still a great game. I have a feeling I'll carry on playing this for a long time yet. Well done to Codies for producing a great game, and I'm sure I'll love DiRT 2 even more!!!

The Sports Games on my Wishlist

Continuing from the first part of this (about driving games) I'll now talk about the sports games I would like. Previously, all i would on my PS2 would be sport games (99% of the time it was FIFA/PES) and, although I've broadened my horizons A LOT, I still love sports games. For PSP they, and RPGS, are my favourite type of games so this list will be quite long. Best get started then.

I'll start off with the sports games I want for the 360. Table Tennis I want not most, but first - it's cheap at about £2.50, I love table tennis and it looks pretty sweet too. Oh yeah, and the achievements. Those achievements look SWEET! After that, I'll get NHL10. I don't like ice hockey in real life and didn't like it in videogames either, but about a month ago a magazine said to at least download the demo which I did - I bloody loved it. The sport makes for a great videogame, and after discussing whether to get the latest game or 09, I decided the latest would be best. It sounds like there's more than enough improvements to make it worth it.

Now onto NBA2K10. The only basketball game I got was NBA Live 2005 on PS2, and I loved it to bits. I recently picked it up again, and decided I'd like a version of it on 360. I started with the reviews about whether to get Live or 2K and I decided to plump for 2K's game. Although, I might get the 09 game seeing as that will have come down in price but the latest game sure looks tempting. I'll just have to see I suppose. Next up - Top Spin 3. I've got Virtua Tennis 3 currently, but I have to say it's nothing like as good as Grand Slam Tennis on the Wii. I want a sim tennis game for 360, so Top Spin's the only option.

The last two on the list are Ashes Cricket 2009 and FIFA 06: Road to the FIFA World Cup. Ashes isn't a great game, but it sounds like the best cricket game on 360 so I'll get it. FIFA 06 is cheap, and sounds like an easy way of getting 1,000 extra G. I might get a snooker game as well, but I'll have to check out some of the prices as I've already got one on PSP.

Now onto the sports games for my Wii. Wii I prefer for 'arcadey' sports games so I've only put a few on here, and even then I only want the ones with good controls.

So, I want - FIFA 10. Sounds like a good, fun game which is packed with goals and will provide a good alternative to the 360 version. Sounds like it will play better with friends too. And Tiger Woods 10. I got this on 360, and I H-A-T-E-D it. A complete waste of money. But with Motion+ it sounds bloody brilliant. So thats another game. Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games: great fun for family and friends, and also sounds like it's got a lot of improvements from the original game. Punch-Out!! is on my list because it sounds like great fun. I don't really like boxing games on 360, but for Wii they're good. Virtua Tennis 2009 I'd also LIKE but if I don't get it, no worries. I've already got Grand Slam Tennis on Wii so I'm not too bothered. Finally, there's Shaun White Snowboarding: World Stage simply because it sounds great fun with the Balance Board.

I want six sports games for PSP. PES 2010, sounds much better than FIFA in every way, including an edit mode so I've got everything covered. Virtua Tennis 3 as I just want a tennis game on PSP, and thats by far and away the best one, NHL 07 because it's the latest NHL game, and, well, the sport makes a great game. NBA Live 09, it's cheaper and the best NBA game on PSP. Tiger Woods 10 maybe I'll get, maybe not. I'll have to read a bit more before I make my mind up. SSX On Tour - God I LOVED that game on PS2! Hopefully it will be just as good, if not better on PSP.

On the PS2, PES5 and PES6 are the only sports games. I'm a true nostalgia fan, well, a little bit anyway. Finally, on the PC I want Football Manager 2010 - although I'm more than happy with FM2009 for the time being.

See ya all soon guys!

The Driving Games on my Wishlist

Ok, so I've FINALLY finished off my wishlist here. I'm going to post about why I want these games. First off, the driving games. I only get driving games on 360+PSP as Wii driving games have the wheel but TBH the 360 wheel (which I should be getting for Christmas) is so much better. Driving games on PSP are in some ways worse as the analogue stick is too sensitive but you can always change options, and they're good if you have 5 minutes to do something.

Now to the business. Here are the driving games I want on the 360: Forza Motorsport 3 Limited Edition, Colin McRae DiRT 2, Test Drive Unlimited, Race Driver: GRID, Project Gotham Racing 4, Flat Out Ultimate Carnage, Midnight Club Los Angeles and Pure.

Forza just appeals to me. I love tuning, designing, and thats what it others, as well as being a simulation. I want the steering wheel with it, which should make it even better. I've played the demo and I want more, much more. From Codemasters, there's DiRT 2, and GRID. I got the original DiRT and enjoyed it even more than any other games while it lasted. Why? Sleek, clean in the menus, but dirty in the game. Quite realistic without being too realistic. And it also provided a great boost to my gamerscore which is always welcome. So although DiRT 2 might not have the menus, it still sounds bloody brilliant, especially with rewinds. In Forza I wouldn't often use becuase I think it can sometimes take the challenge out, but in DiRT there are some amazing crashes that now I can remake again and again rather than just looking at a replay. GRID also sounds good, the crowds sound amazing. Also the tracks sound really good and the selection of cars. I tried the demo and liked it, so those three are very close to the top of the list.

Now at the other end of the scale are Test Drive Unlimited and Midnight Club LA. Chances are I'll only get one of these as they sound similar. Midnight Club sounds good in a way what with it using the GTA engine and all. But then Test Drive sounds like more depth ... Still, I'll have to make the decision.

I've also heard all kinda good things about Pure, so I think that will be another game I'll get, possibly after DiRT 2 and before GRID. Sounds under-rates, but it just sounds like my kinda game, like DiRT 2 mixed with Burnout mixed with Tony Hawk. Alternatively, I could get Fuel. Both sound good, but Pure has the driving.

So that brings me onto the final driving games on my list - PGR4, and Flat Out. I've got Flat Out: Head On on my PSP and I love it, but it seems like a game that would benefit so much from improved graphics, which is why I also want it on 360. PGR4 sounds much better than PGR3 and I'm sure it will be a lot of fun. Still, those two are at the bottom of my driving games list.

I don't want too many driving games on PSP, so I've got on my list Gran Turismo, Burnout: Dominator, Midnight Club: LA Remix and Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition.

Gran Turismo I've heard some mixed reviews of, and by the sounds of it it doesn't have the individuality that the other GT games have. Still, with the amount of cars and tracks it's crammed onto a tiny UMD disc I think it still deserves a purchase. Burnout sounds good on a handheld, even better than it does on 360. It might not have the graphics but it gives you a huge adrenaline rush which lasts for no more than 2 minutes; perfect for a short bus or car journey.

Out of the Midnight Club games, I'll probably only get one. I'll read some more reviews then about those two before I decide which one.

Finally, I've got the original Forza Motorsport and Midnight Club II listed for the original XBOX. I might pick up a load of original XBOX games seeing as they're reasonably cheap and decent in most cases.

Until tomorrow - Adios!

List Update - My Console History

Phew! That took a while! Anyway, thats my list of games. I got my PlayStation about the year 2000, then I got a Game Boy Advance Original in 2002 which I still have but have no games anymore. 2003 I got my PS2, which I stuck with for 'home' gaming for a whole 6 years with no problems. I got a PSP for Christmas 2008, and have bought four games for that. I'm looking to get some more games that are good for a quick five minutes. Finally, I bought myself an Xbox 360 around April time. I bought the games I always loved, sports games and then bought a couple of driving games, in Burnout and Colin McRae Dirt. Burnout came bundled with Trivial Pursuit - hooray for cheap gamerpoints! Anyway, I then on the recommendations of a friend stretched out to rent Halo 3. I immeduiately went out and bought the game, and then last week I got COD: WaW. Top of my list of games for Christmas are Forza 3, COD: 4, and Halo 3: ODST. Hopefully later today, or most likely tomorrow I'll put my wish list up here. In the meantime I'll get busy rating some of these games! See ya later!

Let's start this thing ...

Hi guys. I just created this new account here, I've been looking at a load of stuff here before but have never gotten around to signing up! But now I decided this is much better than GameFAQS, so from now on I'll be on here. I'll update my games collection later today probably. See y'all later then!
