The Maxtor Diamondmax 11 (the newest of the Maxtor series) has big problems with technology that is to date. Turns out that the new Maxtor hard drive cannot function well with the nForce4 chipsets. (Asus mobo's etc.) Maxtor's huge dilemma is that the new drives can be read, but not written to. In other word the new HDD is like a really large already-been-used CDR that can't be burned again. What's even more ridiculous is that it had the same problems on some of its other models in the Diamondmax 10 series. Some good advice: If you are looking to buy a cheap, yet large HDD for a midrange system go for Maxtor. However, if you're building an awesome custom gaming rig don't even bother. -MPC

Sony's DRM (Digital Rights Management) is getting tougher nowadays, and its become a big people vs the man war on piracy. Sony has come out with file on its CD's called rootkit that installs itself on your computer and hides itself from the OS. The rootkit file makes any other file with the name $sys$ in it, practically invisible and no amount of searching will find it. Turns out that hackers can easily exploit this matter, and Sony has not really stepped up with protection. Sony has though, suspended use of rootkit and has recalled some of its affected discs. -MaximumPC

I just added 512mb DDR and put in a 250 GB HDD in my 3 yr old computer. I'm doin pretty good with an Athlon XP 1700 and a  GeForce 5600 U. now w/ 1GB memory and got rid of my 40GB HDD for a new Maxtor DMAX 10. This was a good thanksgiving weekend.

Today is a good day. Its my birthday and things are going well. Nothing really bad happened at school, don't have a lot of homework, and I just got Burnout Revenge for ps2.  :lol: That will definitely keep me busy until Chrismas. Then maybe I can get an RK or a YYH box set ur something. It's gonna be a fun couple of weeks.
