I got alot to talk about this time, and most of it is actually worth writing about. So first, let's start with clearing up the E3 staments I made in my last blog. I was reading the comments in the last one and I ended up reading the blog to myself, and I realized I made it sound alot more negative than I ment too. I was gonna type a section about the things I saw this year that really made me happy and that I am really looking worard to, but I guess I forgot to get around to that part or maybe I thought I already talked about it since I took a break in the middle of that one to eat. I also wrote the blog immediatly after I finished watchin the live stream for Sony's show, so I didn't see anything of day 3 or many of the individual games after the main three shows. And yes, eventhough I still don't have my emblems for it, I did watch both Nintendo and Sony live like I said I did. My day 3 emblem didn't even show up till last Saturday, so who knows if the other 2 will ever be here.
Anyway, I got my main complaints about it out in that blog, so here's some of what I did like. First off, I'm really excited about the new Castlevania. I missed the live Konami event, but I saw the recordings. I gotta say, I'm very suprised about who is in charge of this project, but it's a very welcome surprise to me. It looks amazing fro mthe trailer, and hopefully the graphics will transfer into the gameplay graphics. The enemies look great, and they finally make a 3D Castlevania game more, for a lack of better terms, in it's element. I've had problems with all the 3D games in the series so far. 64 was good when it came out, but I was in like 6th grade and didn't really know better. lol. It was fun and strange to play in that enviornment. The bosses were original and the story was decent, but it had it's flaws. Legacy of Darkness was the same, just with 1 and 1/4 new stories, and just the same likes and dislikes about it. LoI and CoD had basically the same, but I just hated the tight rooms all over the place. They were just way too cramped. However, Lords of Shadows worries me slightly. The trailer makes the gameplay seem like it'll be another "It worked for God of War, so let's give up originality too" style game. If the bosses, mini-bosses, or any in game combat at all has any form of quick time or button guessing thign that is forced upon the players, I will f*cking hate this game. Like I said, I am optomistically awaiting it, but Konami and me have a very abusinve relationship, usually involving me suddenly having a black eye and telling our freinds that I fell down the stairs again. I love the sh*t outta Konmai, but I wish they'd just stop doin this to me.
The Last Guardian is on track to be one of m favorite upcoming games. Team Ico is on this project, and it is going to be the last part of the Ico trilogy. I loved Ico, and still strongly believe it has one of the best endings in any game I've ever played. If you never played the game, it's a really fun puzle game, but it's a little short. The details in every part of the castle and the outside look amazing, and the story is pretty good for how small it it. Also Shadow of the Collosus is the second game, and it's just as great of a game. The gameplay is way different, but if you get the 100% ending, you see how it leads into the story from Ico making SotC the prequel. Anyway, these were great games, and were very overlooked in favor of the DA HALOZ LOLZERZ!!11ELEVEN! The Last Guardian looks like it will play a little different than the first 2 again, but I'm really looking forward to how it will turn out and to see how the story ends.
The new Metal Gear (the one that actualy plays like a real Metal Gear game) looks great too, and I'm really happy I held onto my PSP. lol. Peace Walker fixes the main problem I had with P.O. and from the looks of it, it should be a fun game this time around. As we all know, the main problem I'm refering to with P.O. was that I f*cking hate the team based sh*t. I don't want to spend 3 hours just draging people back to a truck just trying to randomly find one guy with good stats. It annoyed the piss outta me and I hated played what otherwise could have been a perfect PSP game. Personally, it ruined the game to me and I couldn't take it long enough to finish the game that way. I got to what the guides made out to be the half way point, and I'm amazed i could stand it that long. I know Peace Wlaker will have 4 player co-op, but that is so much better than always switching out to peopel with bad stats, and a lack of decent equipment since I'm too lazy to play the same places a million times just to get mulitples of good weapons.
As I've mentioned a few times in some of my older blogs, I was getting stuff for working as an editor and doing reviews of games, anime and manga for a site who I won't mention for reasons to be explained soon. I was kinda happy about, because I liked the job and I liked being able to be brutally honest in a place where everyone is swears if it's not American it ain't sh*t. I **** hated everyone there, and I have even more reason to hate them now. I was thinkin about leaving for a while mainly because the ammount of American bias was disgusting. I don't mind being proud of your country, but when you are such an extreme supremesist about it, it's f*cking sickening. Especially when it's about America. We get it. Murder and slaves building everything made this place great. What have we done since then? Nothing. So I'm just sick of those f*ckers acting like the world would explode if America didn't take care of every little thing in the world every day. Back on topic, I found out a few days ago that the guy runnin the site stole almost everythign they have there. All the content he contributed, the site layouts, and pretty much everything in the site itself was almost all stolen form other sites. Not only that, but he was stealin the majoity of the profit we made there. So yeah, now that I know aboout how much they stole everything there, I refuse to work for them anymore, took down all my work, and will never go back or mention the name to prevent anyone else from goin there as much as I can. I want to make it clear that my reviews of games there were way better than my reviews on GS. The ones I do here are just for fun kinda things, and I don't takje them seriously or really try with them anywhere near as much as I should. If anyone wants to see some examples, or wants me aroudn to ohelp with editor stuff, PM me and I'd be happy to help. This is the main reason I've been so absent from GS forums and unions, but I'll be back way more now.
I'm still in my absence form the PS3 time, since I'm still unable to get a pciture from it since I don't have HD cables, or an HD t.v. to use. I've been replaying some older games that i neglected and have been trying some others that I missed out on. One of particular interest to me is a game form 1998 called Shuusou Gyoku. There's three games in the series so far, but the third game's demo was out in 2002 and the full game wasn't out until 2008. lol. The first game is all I've played through so far though. Basically there's no English patch for the game since it's so unknown, but I found scripts and stuff and it's one of those games where I felt better not knowing what the hell was going on. The main story is it takes place in an laternate future of Earth, and you play as a robot maid named VIVIT (yes it's all caps). The main story for the first game is that her master snet her out to do things for him, and when she was on her way back, random people kept attacking her saying that she tired to kill them and did all this other stuff to them. She gets word from her master that his daughter was kidnaped while she was gone, so she decides to try to find his daughter and is forced to fight any of the people that try to kill her along the way. It's a danmaku shooter game, but all enemies are basically some form of future air ships, and all the bosses uses super advanced versions of those to fight. The maid doesn't have any of that though.
The game has a few glitches, but it wasn't anything I think the makers intended players to do. In game sliek that I'm used to them either having a death bomb system, or I force a death bomb myself to preserve my lives when I play. For those of you unfamiliar with the term, death bombs in danmaku shooters are when you get hit and have a reaction time of less than, up to, a full second to react and use a bomb at the cost of 2 or 3 instead. The reaction time also usually differs depending on the character. Anyway, if the game doesn't have that programed into it, you can force one by using a bomb right as something touches your hit box. The problem with this in Shuusou Gyoku is that it glithces out the game, and it kills you, uses the bomb, and then rests your character with 1 ess life and you are missing a bomb form the new life's supply. I beat the game after like 2 tires on Normal mode, and I gotta say, either I'm getting really good at these games, or this one was a little too easy. The last 3 stages are pretty tough to suvive with no deaths, but it's nothing compared to some of the stuff I played. The ending is kinda weird, and the final boss is really fun and challenging. I also ended up unlocking the EX stage. I tried it out, and again, not the hardest I've ever played since no one started throwing easier bosses at me like Yuakri, and no one got me CAVED!!!!!!! like EX Keine. lol. I won't spoil who the EX bosses of the game are, but it made me laugh to see the two of them show up in this one. Porbly my favorite cameo spot in any game I've playedd so far. lol. It's a long ass stage too, and I wanted to upload a playthrough of it on GS as my seconfd video here, but then I found out GS doesn't acknowledge any of the games in this series as existant.
As a closing note, I wanna promote a few people form over on the Youtubes. First, I wanna tell yinz guys about someone with the user name agentjr. He just finished his LP of Silent Hill 4. He does some games that I don't see a ton of other people doing in most cases, and his kind of comedy is very different form all the other LPers out there. He's hillarious and it's worth checking out some of his videos. Also I want to talk about ZoopSoul. He works at IGN, but I never heard of him till I started watchin his videos. He's one of those more graphic comedy kinda people, but he's one of the funniest people I've ever watchin in some of his videos. He's kinda like Hulk Hogan, but not bull sh*t Hulk, more like real Hulk form back when I was a kid and there was people like Randy Savage runnin around being psychos on t.v. and back when that was ok, and fun. Zoop is more like the old Hulk Hogan, but with bigger boobs. lol. He describes himself that way, so don't get mad at me for boob jokes. He did a bunch of older games like the first two Splatterhouses 'n' at and this is one of my favorites I've watched of his so far. He's one of those people that are more hillarious the more frustrated he gets.
So yeah, I almost forgot to mention that recently atomicpuppy was banned. It really sucked to me cause I loved seeing like 4 new videos every day, but now there's a second account up to replace the banned one. Unfortunately, atomicpuppy lost his damn mind in the time away. So this video pretty much sums everything up. It gets better about half way through. lol.So yeah, I'll tyr to be more active here, and I hope this cleared somethings up for everyone so that no one gets the wrong inpressions this time around.
I'm still depressed over this from back in 2008. They built half a game engine just for a joke. If you can;t read the text, during the soul crushes it says something like " This game does not exist. It will never be made. Please don't look for it. Looks like it would be fuin though. Too bad we wont make it." It goes by too fast for anyone to read it though so most people never caught it till they started makin screen shots fro mthe trailer. lmao. I hate you so much sometimes Japan. *Runs away before Konami comes back to beat me again* lol.
