I mean if the area you're parked in isn't totally flat, but a little bit downhill at an angle? I heard that you should always put the parking brake on unless you're on level ground, because it will stress out the other brakes or something if you don't.

It is good stress. The problem with people and stress though is, you can't stress yourself forever. You don't lift weights (stress your muscles) for 3 months straight to get fit do you? No, you take breaks in between. Most people forget to do this with their brain - they take insufficient amount of breaks and this turns "good stress" into "bad/useless stress". The matter of fact is, suffering/stress is a blessing, you need suffering/stress to grow, to learn from mistakes etc. Meditation, sufficient rest at night, not overworking yourself, taking vacations are ways to turn some of your bad stress into good stress.Famiking

So basically limited quantities/low level stress to get things done = ok. I still wouldn't call it "good" stress.

They taught us this in high school several times, and I've heard teachers in college try to explain this as well. Basically they teach that any stress induced by negative things such as breaking up with bf/gf, parents fighting, dealing with social problems etc as "bad stress." Then they go on to say "Oh but there's also good stress! If you are busting your ass to do homework or study for a test then this is good stress you are feeling!"

There is no such thing as "good stress." They make this up as an excuse for the poor education system or poor studying skills. Stress, despite what it is caused by raises chemicals such as cortisol in your body, and is not good for you nor fun to put up with. People shouldn't have to stress out from school, they shouldn't have to cram for tests and do excessive amounts of homework. They should evenly distribute the workload throughout the week and keep stress levels at bay. Unfortunately this isn't always possible, especially with college, the reality is if you're trying to obtain a hard degree you will probably have to stress out a lot. "Good stress" is just BS they made up to justify the negative effects of working your butt off.

[QUOTE="chocobo7000"]

What I mean is white people = caucasian, mexican/puerto rican/nicaraguan/etc = hispanic, chinese/japanese/etc = asian, regardless of country they were born in those terms refer to the race as a whole.

Why haven't they invented a term that makes sense to refer to black people?

African/Jamacan/Haitan/etc all = African American. Black person born in any country on earth = African American

Really, can't they think of something that doesn't sound stupid?

peaceoutmedusa

hmm... maybe because we dont have the luxury of knowing what country our anscestorrs came from due to slavery.

How about you think before you say such insensitive things.

And Jamaican Americans are "Jamaican Americans", and Haitian Americans are "Haitian Americans" as well.

Awww did I offend you? How about you cry some more. Your post was worthless, stated the obvious and contributed nothing to the discussion of this thread.

African.....weezyfb
I guess all black people do originate from African, but if you call a Jamaican an African, would that be acceptable?

How about.... black?Dark__Link
they don't just call white people "white," the term that groups all whites together is caucasian, so why don't they have a similar to that refers to the decent of all blacks?
