It does make a huge difference, my 1 tb 32meg cache seagate hdd was alot faster than my 500 gb 16 mb cache hdd...but now with raid 0 the 2 500 gb hdds are faster.
Do both drives have dual processors? I read the 640gb does.
Do you think maybe since it is newer it is faster because of other new parts they put in and not just the 32mb? Someone else told me the cache doesn't matter that much but its newer and tweeked faster anyway, but i dont know whether or not to believe them since i see no evidence that anything other than the cache is different.
