Is there any real world difference between an E5200 and the other higher priced Core 2 Duos such as E7400 and E8400 if you overclock it to the same speed?

With the E5200 dropping in price to around $65, is there any reason to pay $50 - $100 more for a Wolfdale chip if you can OC it to 3.6ghz or more?

Larger cache and SSE4 on the E7000's and E800's help with video editing, but does it help in games at all? Is the multitasking power better?

Compared to a cheaper build with a Core 2 Quad? For about twice as much (for each component, ram/mobo/cpu) I could go with i7 over a Q6600. Is it worth it, or should I waita few months for price drops? It seems that games wont even use the technology for what 2 - 3 years? Should I just go with a cheaper build for now?

I went to Best Buy today and tried all three out.

I found the Deathadder's simpler design to be the most comfortable. It lacked buttons on top though (what are buttons on top used for?). Can you adjust the sensitivity and stuff for the deathadder like you can with the others? The two side buttons are nice and clickable, but they are in the way of the thumb, has anyone had problems with this? I heard that it gets annoying because you accidently press the side buttons by mistake a lot (I've never owned a mouse with sidebuttons before though).

The MX518 was nice, side buttons were out of the way to avoid accidental clicking but very reachable/clickable.

Although the G5 had a nice texture, I thought it was the least comfortable. It just seemed bulky compared to the other two, and the scroll button was big and bulky. The side buttons were even further out of the way, but they seemed harder to reach with my thumb, and when clicking them they didn't feel as good.

Still not sure what to get since I don't know how these mice perform in action. Any feedback would be appriciated.

[QUOTE="chocobo7000"]By the time games start utilizing quad core, wont the rest of the system be outdated?NamelessPlayer
That may be true, but take note that similar systems with dual-cores will be even more obsolete due to not having those two extra cores. How frequently do you upgrade? If you want to retire it when the next big thing hits the market, you might as well opt for a cheaper dual-core and overclock it. If you want your system to last for a while before making any major system overhauls (read: motherboard, CPU, and RAM replacement), you might as well pay up a bit for the Q9550 and stick with it for two or three years.

I wont be paying $300 for a cpu, so for me it's either the E8500 or the 4Q6600, both in same price range.
