Most monitors are only 60hz (except for the new 120hz ones that recently came out). So that means if your game is running above 60fps then you can even tell the difference, right? I've read several comments online where people are claiming to be able to tell the difference if a game is running higher than 60fps. Is this possible, if so how? And why do people spend so much money to try and get over 100fps in games if their monitors only go to 60?

what do you have against TFT/TN monitors?freesafety13
I have a westinghouse tn monitor that I bought about 3 years ago, I don't know if TN panels have gotten better since then but this one sucks. The viewing angels are terrible, and I sit directly in front of it! The contrast will change even slightly, and the top is always so dark I can't see stuff in dark games. Again I'm not sure if this is just a crappy old panel, and if TN technology has improved?

Looking to for something to replace my current TN panel, do not want another TN panel. 24" to 32" would be nice, will be using it for gaming/movies mostly. Will also be connecting consoles to it. Any recommendations? Anything coming out within the next year worth waiting for?

I was thinking of getting a 32" monitor for gaming/movies/browsing. I would be sitting up close to it, as well as away from it. Is 32" as big as one should go when purchasing a monitor, or is it easy to get used to bigger sizes such as 42"? Does anyone here prefer really big monitors for up close viewing?

I don't know anyone who does these things, but I want to learn. Any suggestions on how to get into them by myself?

Something like 20% of the grade is participation, and you have to sign in. But the only classes that do this are the one where you learn nothing important from being in class, The ones where you actually have to be in class to take important notes are the ones you would do badly in anyway if you didn't show up, so there's no point in making you come to class. The ones where the teachers try to make you show up are worthless, and you could still get A's in them if you only showed up for tests.
