the problem is that I have never played a bad valve game. I have never wasted my hard earned money on a valve game.

I trust valve and they have yet to dissapoint.

EA on the other hand....

to be fair, he is a little right.

when i play games like rome total war its all about unit placement, proper timing etc...

a lot of the things in sc2 that make you a good player have more to do with how well you can multitask, and how fast you can think.

in other words.... a world class chess player might not necessarily be a good sc2 player.

There definitely is strategy, but a lot of muscle memory as well.

I dont know what the thread started is using but...

my 460, with a 6 core amd, 4 gigs of ram... could not even come close to running witcher 2 at max graphics.

If I had to guess I was at about 14 fps...

omg, who cares. you dont have to buy every game off steam. just go to a store and pick it up. no "fanbase" is suffering from this.

You cant max out (and still have a resonable fps) with that 460gtx a bunch of games...like:

Bad Company 2

Just Cause 2

Crysis 1 and Warhead...even Crysis 2(with DX11 and High Rez Tex)

The Witcher 2

Metro 2033

Shogun 2

GTA IV

...and iam sure there are more

rhazzy

sorry but, i own half these games and my 460 runs them perfectly fine.

Yeah again...define whats "fine" to you...You see...i cant play any game if it performs under 40 fps constantly...maybe ur happy with 30 fps or whatever...and obviously my notion of "fine" will not be the same as urs...

Well to be fair, you got me a little curious so I checked out my fps...

im currently on a 4 gig, win 7 64 bit, gtx 460 1 gb, phenom 2 x6 - nothing is overclocked

crysis on MAX settings, 4x aa, dx10, 1920 X 1080 runs at 25 to 32 fps for me. Perfectly fine by me.

As far as I know BC2 and shogun run VERY smooth, definitely higher than 30 fps - i am just too lazy to test. I can tell the difference between 60 and 30 fps, its just that 30 doesnt bother me in single player.

Why are those toms hardware benchmarks so low? maybe they were using older drivers back then? not sure.

To top it all off my nvidia control settings are set on quality mode, not performance, which drops the fps even more. I suppose I should be using "let the application decide" anyways

[QUOTE="melenkurio"]I dont think any game in the future wont run on 570gtx. I dont know why so many people buy high-end PCs its just not worth it (Buying 580gtxSLI is just a total waste of money imo unless you need it for something that actually needs this power). Around christmas i bought a 460GTX and till now there was no game i couldnt run with max settings and a very good fps (40+) and i played crysis 1,2, the witcher 2, shogun2 total war etc. Its alot cheaper to buy a bit outdated cards that still run every game on ultra settings and buy a new one every year than buying some high end card which will last a bit longer but costs alot more.rhazzy
